shelly23: Is it really such a bad thing to pay taxes? At least we can see the value of the taxes. Medicaid that some of us are illegally using is a result of taxes.
I'll rather my child pay taxes than to be wondering what if or singing sholda woulda coulda songs many years down the line Sholda woulda coulda songs hehehhehehehhehehehe |

kindheart213: I am in dying need for assistance and advice, i and my wife was deny a B1/B2 visa some time in April, the reasons being that we don't have family travel history together. She is presently pregnant n she is due by Nov. My elder brother lives in Houston, i just want to know how good are her chances since her condition have not changed yet and i don't know if it's advisable to pay all the Dr Fee and part payment before going to for her next interview. I have about 4M in my acount, i don't know if that is strong enough to take care of her bills, since my brother lives in Houston, accommodation and transport won't be an issue. Try Abuja... Go with ur burden of proof |

Adeniyitob: I had my baby in Houston o...My flight to the US was through Newark hence the reason for my return to New jersey so I just want to use that opportunity and get the naija passport instead of visa.I used OakBend and Dr Fagbohun. Estimate of the delivery bill has been shared by T Vegas before but mine is as follows: Dr Fagbohun- 1920( after the discount) 300( initial visit plus ultrasound) 580( for tests) Oakbend- 2300(,vaginal delivery) NICS Peadiatrician- 514 Brown and Associates- 79 I used pediatric centre for my baby's 2 days and 2 weeks follow on visit and they charged 108 and 96 dollars respectively. I hope this helps. How long did u stay in the hospital that NICS was 514 , and did u wait 2-3 days post delivery before paying? then how many days post delivery did u pay brown and associate? . Ur tests was 580 is it that he refused ur tests? |

Amother4life: You mean the hospitals in Nigeria that want cash deposits before they even attend to you? There is no hospital anywhere in Nigeria that would attend to any foreigner without adequate deposit to cover the cost of treatment . Let's stop openly encouraging people to abuse a system we have the privilege to use So others can also have access in future. It's because of abuses like these that the UK and Ireland erected road blocks to automatic citizenship by birth. Let's keep these activities strictly through private chats. There Was a POE encounter with a CBP officer referencing Nairaland during POE. It would definitely not add to our "good" reputation as a country to be openly enouranging illegality on an open forum . OP: Please, workout a payment plan to offset whatever bill you get . It doesn't matter how long it takes to pay off but try and do the right thing . It's a WWJD moment. I agree with the highlighted... This forum is public.... Before we use our own hands to put sand in our own garri |

Forgive me I didn't know the post was long ...
This "secret Medicaid users" are just a little percentage of the majority of people here. If any
Let's not forget other country categories of people who go for birthing... |

justwise: There is such an unusual silence about this issue in this thread that can only mean that a lot of people here use Medicaid secretly but ashamed to acknowledge it openly here.
The 'bad' experiences at the POE will continue if some people keep abusing the system. Unusual silence? Most of us are in Nigeria and this was posted in the night... And then the majority of people recently reading through this posts either just put to bed or are still pregnant.. Besides if there was secret use of medicaid I doubt we wld find helpful hints at to how to settle our bills or hints from those who went through hustles to pay back Medicaid. And why struggle to find 10k dollars even buy at an outrageous rate in the black market just so u can use Medicaid? And then u give birth to one child there, what about the others? If u end up facing a ban.. These red flags "bills" cause get people who are innocent denied visa.. Simply because dey bear the same name or they r related (judging from other nairaland visa threads) I must also state that Medicaid puts pressure on people to use their services... At least from the posts I've read here... Except they ain't on this thread but most of them sort their bills...plus those who work out a plan with d hospital to sort their while in Nigeria... Even those that get bills after they have left the US , find a way to sort their bills.... Abeg a big Kudos to these mothers and fathers And if truly they are truly people using it secretly... It means water don pass garri, and the pressure was beyond them... Pls settle it somehow |

Plus central bank is not making things easy at all with their new policy of $100 daily withdrawal, $300 ATM/POS use and $3000 monthly maximum usage. There is God ooo $300 pos use?
