Pass, pass and pass, no one is threatening from either wings and the middle.
Brighton have men bossing and slicing through our middle and wings, ball possession stats says it all |

Let's hope willock impresses Somebody said Ljumberg was part of Wenger and Emery so no expect anything different I don't understand diamond formation, what happens to wing play? Martinelli, Pepe and Niles will strech them, witg crosses from Bellerin and Tierney, then let the midfielders recycle possessions... Now see how Bellerin and Kola will suffer in this match, Auba will be stressed and everything will look hard. |

You can't even be responsible for your comments again oga oo It'll continue to pain me until we have someone who runs at defenders, open spaces and changes game from bench with strength and agility. For now our attack fr0m LW is dead, we rely on kola and Tierney to attack and defend on the left. Selling Iwobi is no issue, but not replacing him with someone better. |

Jodera: Yeah, I wanted to talk about Sanchez sef when writing that but it skipped my memory along the way. Sanchez was so different from our players that I feel the players don't even get along with him at all. I heard he's one of the least loved arsenal player among his teammates even tho he was clearly our best player. Guess that's why he was fed up at arsenal. To be sincere, I still doubt nuno, I dunno why. Not that he's not punching above his weight but I no just dey reason am. Lol.
If Pepe is back to his best, he'll be a better upgrade than iwobi, cos he'll guarantee goals that iwobi never guarantee and taking on defence just like iwobi. Why we dey shout iwobi for here since is that Pepe have not lived up to expectations. If only iwobi that's our runner last season, even as he's limited, and w/o a replacement is giving us trips, how much more a confident Pepe with sub like martinelli or saka (and Nelson too, I really hope he improves), coming from the bench. You'll just find yourself forgetting iwobi was even an arsenal player. That's why I said he's a replacement, but it haven't worked out yet Sanchez really exposed the weak mentality he met in the squad, Bellerin and Walcott attested to this, that Sanchez waits after training for his personal session, can be too demanding and they found it annoying.. Imagine we had 3 of Sanchez strength and attitude that year, we could have won more than FA cup, even ozil would have had more fun and less work to do. My brother, you better join the Nuno camp, the guy sabi scout mentally strong players, don't let it be when he wins Europa, qualifies for UCL and gets snapped by the Madrid and Man city. On Pepe, until he gives us something similar or close to what we see at Lille, then he is just a French ligue star boy who got exposed in England. |

Jodera: This fighting spirit all boil down to the coach, and like you said, we need a rugged coaching crew. If mane and Kante are in arsenal, I bet you, dem for don mellow. Check most players that came here hot, and compare dem now, all it's cos of our coaching crew. So I believed that if we have that fighting spirit, at least, 3rd or 4th we would be now, or just few points lower. Imagine how bad we are, b4 yesterday's game, we were still trailing 4th with 7points. Then imagine us been at our best. Mehn, if I tell you how I miss champions league and how Emery dey vex me eh...
Also for iwobi, Pepe was his direct replacement, only that he was not managed properly and he lost confidence. I hope ljumberg restores it back to him You are right, Sanchez was the last player who didn't get infected with the lazy culture. Mane/Kante may look like Saka/willock in their first 2 weeks. The fighting spirit is my choice for Nuno Espirito or his kind, his first work will be to instill the attitude in those who can cope, get rid of those who can't and bring in new players who has that personality trait. Pepe and Iwobi are not that similar, Pepe dribbles, cuts in a lot, not that fast and not yet fully adapted. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Fkhalifa(m): 1:28pm On Dec 05, 2019 |
Jodera: I swear bro. Na dat time Emery bin still get fans. Seriously, before start of season, and with our buys, if dey tell me top4 will be difficult for us, I would have disagreed. For me, when we sold our only direct runner in Iwobi for unproven youngsters, I knew we are in for something hard, my last hope was on Ceballos and Pepe( to give attacking mazy runs to break down defense and speed up our play) only for them to be infected with the slow sideways Arsenal culture. The truth is, most teams outside top6 have players more talented, energetic with good fighting spirit than our boys. The Liverpool, Leicester, city and Chelsea have not had it easy, they hustled for most of their points. Its hard in England, we need a rugged coaching crew and rugged players, Somebody said imagine Mane and Kante in one team? Mehn thats insane. We need a Reminisce not Wizkid's kind of personnel. |

BlueRayDick: Xhaka cannot play the defensive midfield role (the viera kind) in the EPL. Maybe he plays well for his country, but he doesn't have that instinct to play it well for arsenal in the EPL.
Just look at Ndidi, Kante, McTonmay, Fabinho, Fernadinho(when he plays in the middle) and see how they play that role. (I don't know how to explain it). Now tell me in all honesty if u think Xhaka can learn how to move like those guys do, if he can shield the back 4 like they do and can he do all these without committing unnecessary fouls? Good to see Baba blue analysing the importance of a midfield destroyer with good mobility . |

mostob: I think we do concede simply because our midfield offers no protection to the back four. This is because our MFs are ball playing and not destroyer type of DM. How about we try AMN in the DM position. 1. He has the physique, pace and height. Though he sometimes lose concentration.
2. He will concentrate mainly on defending thereby freeing other MFs to enable them carress the ball wella ...Lolz
The other alternative is David Luiz . His long passes will also come handy but I don't know why I don't trust the guy. I'm happy you also realise we need the destroyer in the mould of Thomas Partey, else our oppositions will just be doing Partey after Partey from our middle... Last AMN played there, it was catastrophic, though I think he can play it if well trained, Luiz could be good to.. Stuffs like this are better experimented in the pre-season, Should Freddie be trying such now and he fails at it, he'll be labelled Emery2.0, Mr Tinkering. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Fkhalifa(m): 7:26pm On Dec 01, 2019 |
Jodera: Yes as a whole the midfield was crap, but in isolation, I feel guen was head and shoulder above all of them today. He was the only one running towards the opposition goal, giving forward passes, key passes and even some tackles and interception. The less said about his partners the better. Now I ask, if only one of the 4 players tried his best, how then do you expect the midfield as a whole to perform?. That's why I said the midfield was bad, doesn't mean guen in isolation was bad. I least expected Freddie to sub of guen. Also, the first goal was really willock and mustafi fault. After willock lost the ball and refused to chase back, the through ball to pukki was suppose to be intercepted by mustafi or at least closed down, but no, mustafi gave him all the time and space in the world to set, adjust and his still have to deflect the shot sef to net. What even annoyed me sef was that he even left pukki to start guarding post, and pointing another person to mark him. For the 2nd goal, same thing, he didn't close down the guy that assisted cantwell. He was just foolishly ducking backwards, while the guy have all the time and space to pass to cantwell who greatly scored the goal. Bro no matter how many good books you write about Buhari, Someone like Atiku won't appreciate nor see anything not even half good in your efforts |

Jodera: What I learned from the game
1.. Even tho I slated guendouzi for being a limited player, but today seems to be one of his best display as an arsenal player. He gives forward passes, key passes, made him self available (as usual sha), and he even drove forward with the ball unlike before and he didn't unnecessarily held onto the ball. Easily our best midfielder in the day. Shout out to him, and if he keeps up like this, I will be glad seeing him in our first eleven. Kudos also to torreira for the two goal bound blocks and interception.
2.. This ought to very last game of willock. Hardly tracks back, loses ball unnecessary, and wasn't even in the game sef. He is playing as if he's a superstar and the first goal was really his fault. I hope ljumberg doesn't start doing favoritism towards him.
3.. We all know the combination of luiz and mustafi is bad...but mehn, mustafi is worst. At fault for the two goals, easily beaten time and again,, slow to react to danger. Just reminded us of why we all disliked him. Also 3/4 of that defence ought to be in the bench. Bellerin and Tierney with Luiz and holding(chambers) suppose to be our back 4. Chambers was awful as rb, and infact, that right wing as a whole was dead either defensively or attack-wise
4..we needed wingers since our play was through the wing, why he waited so long to bring in a tricky winger is what I don't understand. Our wing play was dead, even tho that's the area with the greatest heat map.
5.. We need to sort out our midfield and defence. How we're overrun in both midfield and defence is alarming. We won't go anywhere with 2/3 of our playing department being very very awful. Point 1,Now imagine Guendozi under a GradeA manager with sensible senior players mentoring youngsters performance. Kudos you could swallow pride and say it as it is. I hope you can see Mr cocaine puffer not knowing what to say since Emery's gone and Guen didn't give a Chambers,Mustafi,Kolasinac, lacazzete,Saka and Willock's kind of performance. Point 2, Willock is not ready, this isn't carabao or pre season, maybe Freddie wants to prove his u23 project for us.. Point3.. Luiz and Mustafi are too similar in that they like to go high up, they are more of ball playing than defending, I don't rate Chambers as Arsenals standard, he is bench CB at best. We need to bring in Lewis Dunk from Brighton Point4..I'm never a fan of Auba/laca, those 2 make our attack blunt and dull, they both aren't great with the ball, you need an Henri like player for 2 upfront, even Puki was aggressive and more purposeful with the ball, I'll go for Pepe,Martinelli or even Niles on the wings.. Point5..we'll continue to get over run in the midfield because we lack the personel to boss and hold it. Xhaka..too 1footed, immobile, bad tackler and only spray long passes Guendozi..Not big, strong and matured enough, gets tired and joggs a lot in the game, he runs and only tries his best Torreira..good tackler and blocks well, but too small to dominate and gets muscled off a lot. Norwich's Amadou was good. |
