Spy360:I'll take Allegri over Arterta, I'm not just that confident. |
Spy360:What is glowing about Arterta? Kompany can as well be Pep's assistance and they'd still be that good.. Arterta is a risk, a big one at that, We need to see him manage a professional side, Arsenal shouldn't be a stepping stone, let him go experiment at Southampton, he doesn't necessarily need to win trophies, let's just see the stuffs he's made of before we can conclude. It is dicey, he could be very good, average or bad, little to nothing is to be said of him atm. |
Spy360:My head and heart goes for: Nuno Espirito Mauricio pochentino Max Allegro Mikel Arterta Freddie Ljumberg I already explained my reason for Nuno yesterday.. Pochentino..because he knows the league, has been in top4 in recent times with little budget, makes sensible business in windows and instils the never give up fearless spirit in his team Allegro, to me is like an Italian Emery,(Emery even had trophies in Europe) they both cruised in a less competitive, one horse race league with all the financial backings, yet couldn't do something exceptional in Europe, but he is experienced and has a better CV than the next2 baby coach Arterta, Dude is too raw, hasn't managed a team, money and pep does most things at city, Arterta looks too cool like a younger version of Wenger,We need a terrifying looking manager like Nuno I doubt he can handle the egoistic senior payers, however, he's played almost all his games in England, understands the league, must have learnt from Moyes,Wenger and Pep.Ljumberg,Very similar to Arterta, hasn't managed any professional side, Arsenal shouldn't be an experimental/training ground, but he's a respected figure and can help the youngsters grow |
Spy360:Emery does not look like he'll turn things around here, he could be successful elsewhere.. We can be patient for the first year, but the second year, we need to at least see signs, there were signs at pep and klopp's team in first year.. There's a message going on at Leicester and wolves. Nuno if after first year shows no improvement, then he shouldn't be rewarded with an extension, 3 transfer windows is enough to clear deadwoods and bring in his kind of players ( he doesn't necessarily need to spend large on any media hyped players, just 2,3 new players with good traits of a modern Bpl quality. What I meant by third year is that we should have gotten to a stage where we only need a v.dijk and Alisson kind of signing, stock our squad bench with talents and be able to face any team confidently in Europe. |
iamoyindamola:Ahh! Ljumberg/Arterta will be an experiment like Solkjer, after 3 years we start afresh again.. Let's kuku begin now, I meant in 3 yrs time, we should have gotten our Arsenal back I.e competing at the highest level with a formidable team and squad. |
iamoyindamola:He is their boss and they have to learn it,anyone who isn't willing or can't adapt should please use the door. Slowly and gradually he'll bring in his kind of players. 2/3 players every summer in 3 yrs will have him his full squad. |
Below is a chart showing the good work, it isn't a season wonder nor coincidence.. Wolves like every promoted side is to remain in the league, but he is surpassing the target and doing exceptional with little budget. Only Ranieri's Leicester has done it better.
|
iamoyindamola:We should look at what kind of tactics a coach uses, his mentality and whether it fits our current squad and our current requirements. We need a coach who can strengthen our defensive organization, improve our players one touch passing and reaction times, and also their body positioning when receiving the balls, train our attacking players to make good runs into space letting our creative players do their job, and also develop some mental fortitude to withstand pressure and tough situations on the field. Then we can build from there. Any manager who can do that is welcome by me, regardless of his past accomplishments. Accomplishments can be deceiving as there are many factors involved like squad strength, budget allocation, etc. Personally, I want the new manager to bring a solid one-touch passing oriented style to Arsenal, no wasted movements, no sideways passing, direct one touch ball playing. We waste so much time when we have the ball it’s ridiculous. Allegri, though is an accomplished manager, I would rather go with someone like Nuno or Arteta as they are in the EPL already. Especially Nuno has done a wonderful job at Wolves, both defensively and offensively. And listening to Nuno speak about his football philosophy and style of play, is quite impressive. Wolves play style really reflect what Nuno says, and he would definitely improve our defensive organization. His one idea that really impressed me is controlling the game even without the ball, through effective defensive organisations and creating trigger points in the field where we can press and win a ball and be at a greater advantage than the opposing team. That doesn’t sound like gegenpresing all over the field like how Klopp does, but pressing with offensive intent and purpose, at vulnerable areas. Sounds like something Arsenal could really do with as we have abysmal positioning in the field. Copied# I'm tilting towards Nuno more than anyone else ATM, realistic and a good gamble.. He brought Wolves from division 2, in his first year, took them to Europa with little budget. He's got good record against the top sides.. Against Man city.. Won1 0-2 Etihad, Draw1, 1-1 lost1 Liverpool...Won 1(Fa cup) lost 2 Chelsea ....Won 1 drew1 Arsenal... Won1 Drew2 Spurs..Won1, lost 1 Utd Won 1, drew2. He's qualified for Knockout stage and currently sit on 5th position, he plays high energetic football, spots talents, has a no nonsense look and instills hardwork and bravery. I'll take him. |
Spy360:I dey tell you, for me, Wenger in his early years is better than the pep and all He made Arsenal so lovely, we had the largest no of fans in Nigeria, many top players and young talents wanted to play for us.. When he brought Ozil& Sanchez, the atmosphere changed and we began to win trophies again. Now imagine he's been bringing in such calibre of players since 2007. |
iamoyindamola:No, it was Wenger who iniated the war of words, Wenger-- Some managers are scared to fail, when the reporter asked him about Mourinho's mind games of ahead of big games. Reporter to Mou: Do you feel Wenger is right managers playing mind games are scared to fail? Mourinho: I'm not a failure, he(Wenger) is the specialist in failure Make I no lie, that insult pain me o, like say na my papa him insult, I hated Jose the more that year. |
Spy360:This is the gospel truth, Wenger's main target was to show the world he is the best by just discovering talents and unknown kids to dominate, he was too rigid and never want to change ways.. That stadium excuse was exposed with Spurs reaching UCL finals, making top4 without spending a dime... Wenger wasn't that aggressive towards success, he's so relaxed and looks like Emery has been told to come run the club the " Arsenal way". |
Spy360:Those were the men, physically and mentally strong.. I remember Henri saying after Jose Mounrinho insulted Wenger with the specialist in failure talk, that a team comprising of him,Viera, ljumberg,Kanu, Campbell and Gilberto will be psychologically drilled to do everything and win the next game against mourinho to shut him up. But when he saw those boys losing 6-0 that year, he gave up on their mental strength.. I'm a fan of players who look strong and dominant as against these sexy boys, softies and jerry curls we parade this days. ![]() |
Roland17:I'm made to feel so because Arsenal fans in recent times are too vocal and will tell you the players they want to be signed and the formation to be used.. Emery knows he's lost the fans support and he is trying every means to bring them back.. He is confused and just trying anything that will work, something he should have done during the preseason games.. Auba himself said after the spurs game he likes to play the CF,but will play any position he is deployed to. He should play Martinelli on the LW,he can drive the ball up, press defenders, create chances and also score.. Pepe,Nelson or Niles from the RW with Bellerin and Tierney doing the Arnold and Robertson job.. Auba and Laca should be used like Aguero/Jesus, the season is long, there are many games they will play, Auba/laca may be dropping some good combination goals, but it won't sustain and make our attack dull with no wing play, as neither is great with the ball. The midfielders should concentrate on keeping possession, passing to the flanks and shielding the defence.. Also everyone should train on shooting, only Xhaka is good at this, we don't shoot and that's the reason behind our low shot on goal The front 3 should be ruthless around the box, not always trying to walk the ball in, Rebounce and deflections can happen, De bruyne's deflected shot gave 3 points against Chelsea. |
Jencejyde:You understand football jare, the likes of Sanchez are specialist on defending and attacking from the wings, Auba should not be anywhere other than the CF. I will like to see if the next manager will bow to fans pressure and play him on the wings, it'll be a straight signal of another crap management |
Jencejyde:The bolded as our greatest undoing, hmmm, its deep.. I like your Auba Analysis, he will continue to be running and defending so far he plays wing roles, He is a CF and should be made to score |
iamoyindamola:I read Pep gave an hint on Arterta joining us |
kokaneprodigy:Xhaka has been a team regular, na error upon sadness, fans booed him out, Torreira should but fitness and physical issues and requires a big midfield destroyer around him. Is it Willock? Or we call Elneny back? Ceballos is more of attacking, he and ozil together will be run ragged except you put an Ndidi behind them with very rugged quality defenders. The Guen fans here started by telling you he isn't Modric nor Pirlo, that he's got potentials and should be allowed to grow in peace, you disagreed and rubbished him, then we kuku decide praise and love him. We said he is 60%, you said no he is 5%, we then decide to kuku be use emotions like you and call him 80%. ![]() |
On the video, the midfielder said: "Actually, I was taking a nap and someone knocked on my door. I didn’t answer because I was sleeping I swear. "Then my phone rang and it was the coach on the phone. He said, “It’s me, I knocked” and so on. Obviously I went and opened the door straight away! ‘And then he said, “Matteo, come here, we need to talk.” He said, “I like you very much but you have to leave. "And I said, “What do you mean I have to leave? What do you mean?” He said, “Actually, you’re going with the senior France national team. ‘In my mind I was like, at first I couldn’t believe it. Ten minutes before I was asleep, I thought it was still a dream! "The coach and I, we had a good talk, he explained it well. That’s it, he told me I was in the national team of France. It’s a dream. I’m glad I just showered for the sake of my awareness." This is the coach of the world champions, he likes him and sees some talent and future with him. For sure he wouldn't bench anyone in the France national team because of the qualities in the squad, most especially that midfield, they are arguably the team with best midfielders atm in the world. You better focus on management and leadership issues you have at the Emirates. |
kokaneprodigy: ![]() Berbartov on Guendozi “He’s 19 but he’s playing like he’s been there forever. “Sometimes I’m watching him like I want to be against him because he p****s me off with the confidence he has. “He’s so confident on the ball and he’s everywhere on the pitch. I’ve watched him. He’s in the box, running without a problem. “You can be 19 and have the mentality and experience of a 24-year-old. Age doesn’t matter. He’s unbelievable.” Martin Koewen of Guendozi “When I was watching Sunday’s game, I was thinking to myself how young Matteo Guendouzi was to be given such a key role in the heart of their midfield against a team as good as City are,” he told the BBC. “He is only 19 and was making his debut after his summer move from Lorient, who play in the second tier in France. Yes, Guendozi made some mistakes, but I actually thought he was quite gallant in his performance. He did not hide after making those errors and was actually fearless in the way he kept on showing to receive the ball. “It seemed to me that some of the people around him, who are more senior players, did not quite show the same appetite to get on the ball when things were not going well. “Is Guendozi the answer to Arsenal’s prayers in that position? Probably not, but I think he was put in there for his character, and he certainly showed a lot of it. Alan shearer.. This guy Guendouzi was absolutely magnificent in the second half, they needed a warrior and he stood up.’ Guendouzi’s influence on the Arsenal side is shown by the stats as he has completed the highest number of passes in the squad, the joint-top number of interceptions and the second-highest number of tackles. Arsene Wenger on Guen.. Wenger told Arsenal’s website: ‘He looks to be a good potential. ‘I think there are many other players who have fantastic potential, who played already with me, like Joe Willock and you have Reiss Nelson. ‘You have many players who come out and have a big potential and Guendouzi is one of them. I'll rather read from world football personnel than some cassava farmers from Kenya. |
kokaneprodigy:This is Roy on Guen,Xhaka and Torreira, but its only Guen you see Abosi of the highest order..It's a known fact none of the 3 are great midfielders, but it is logical we don't conclude on Guen and Torreira yet, they are young, new to the league and in their learning stage, Xhaka is supposed to be the boss, he is a professional,4 years in England with far more top games under his belt. But you never wrote on Xhaka, the moment the only World class midfielder in Carzola left, everything began to implode, We've lost champions league football before Guen, we were even losing with cricket scores before Guen. Xhaka single handedly cost us UCL football last season with his foul against Brighton. He started the final in baku and controlled which midfield? He cost you £35 and was made the captain, he played the most number of games. |
kokaneprodigy:I hope if bring in posts of fans praising and focusing on his positives, you'll also agree? For every 1 or 2 posts of this kind, there are 8/9 saying other wise on the boy.. What if I bring Fans thorough analysis on Ozil,Xhaka,Kolasinc,Mustafi,Lacazette, Pepe,Luiz ,Sokratis,Nelson,Niles,Bellerin.. You'll surely say Guen is the reason for any negatives we see around them. |
kokaneprodigy:That fan pointed out so many things but you choose to focus on the part that suits you.. Here are some stuffs I can deduce: He said the kid has some talent, Do I agree? Yes. He is being asked to do much at 20, which is not fair to him, Do I agree? Yes He is not going to be a long term success here? NO Playing as CM is the hardest thing to do, the easier tasks like defending, creating chances and scoring are no issues at Arsenal? Guendozi is not generational talent? Yes, Fabreags was? Yes, Wilshere was? No Arsenal can't go to through a season with Guendozi,Ceballos,Torrera in midfield, it will implode? YES. We need men like Docoure,Ndidi,Alex Song,Partey and Viera. None of them can run nor are well drilled? Do you agree? Well, its his opinion and perceptions are not fact. |
kokaneprodigy:I thought you felt disrespected when they insulted you for being a nobody as a pundit in football world and a young boy being richer and more famous than you. You can continue to say the same thing over and over, All I know is the fans who see games live already know where the problem lies. |
kokaneprodigy:One thing is common among Arsenal fans all over right now, and that's Emery not getting things right and has to go. Not many will argue that. But I assure over 75% of the fans will laugh at you if you attribute the failure to Guen, that's just it. Fans unanimously agree on the players they think are part of it. So you are on your own. |
kokaneprodigy: ![]() I know some may go over the board in praising him,but I'm sure it is to pepper you and 1 or 2 orthers who they perceived hating on him. |
kokaneprodigy:That's thier opinion, you can counter it like many have done and it will be respected, but when you go on and on him and equating him to a flop or uselessness, that's how emotions will comes in from you and them |
kokaneprodigy:The players he met in the CM/DM positions are all supposed to be better, because he is young and new the club and league, but he looked better than most except Torreira.. The tackles, interceptions and passes you talked about are there already, but you choose not to see, though he isn't very good at that, but he isn't woeful like you're painting him.. Your 2nd paragraph is fairly put, but the manager has the fault instead of venting on the lad. Your last paragraph is funny, all I know is we win/draw/lose with or without him, there are bigger issues than him, Xhaka beside Lucas in that same midfield was toping the chat with errors leading to goals. |
Spy360:They see the bolded as "forming activity" since he isn't scoring and assisting.. A team with a good coach and matured quality experienced players would have fashioned his game to something very meaningful. When we have Ndidi,Partey and Doucoure, you think Guen will have much playing time.. Fans who vote him for POTM can't be all blind, those voting him for Golden boy aren't all daft, even if it be Arsenal fans voting him, he wouldn't still gather votes topping and battling the Sancho,Jao Felix and De light of this world.. In fact I need to see what those lads will look like in England. |
kokaneprodigy:His profile from his prev club says CM/DM.. But from his playing style, he more of a CM than DM and his stats are there, but you'll say because he plays the most. |
kokaneprodigy:I thought I read "Emery had no style, those saying he made us go on 22games unbeaten are not seeing the bigger picture, the unbeaten only papered over the cracks" maybe not you, but looks like you. How you are trying to make Guen the heart of the team wonders me o, there was a Xhaka who played far more, he was made the captainand was telling us they were scared of the ball at watford,(Guen is even the most confident that demands the ball and holds it like a boss and draw fouls in tight corners) orthers are scared or there was Auba/Laca, how is he the heart of the team, lot of playing time doesn't mean so.So the moment Guen came into the team, everything turned upside.. Xhaka, Torreira and Ozil lost rhythm? Ahhhh! I find this hard to believe |
kokaneprodigy:Nobody has problem with Guendozi chopping bench or learning stuffs.. Your talks about him doesn't look like the bolded, what we read from you is " He adds nothing to this team, get the fvk out and bring in anyone else ". He is always your center of focus, other glaring issues you ignore, but guen here and there, and that's the reason why some of us chose to support, encourage and commend his good works.. Torreira is the only one who deserves a spot ahead of him, hGuen is as vital or have done better than the Xhaka,Willock and Elneny is that position. Also, Ceballos is more of an attacking midfielder than CM/DM, Guen defends better and Ceba attacks better |
kokaneprodigy:"Played very well" can be relative, you were among the people saying the unbeaten was only papering the cracks.. The unbeaten run had us play some low class games in Europa and league cup, we didn't win any big side except Tottenham.. Guen featured in those games to,It was not a Xhaka or Guen matter.. For me, it was down to some players form, Bellerin,Monreal and Holding were inform, Welbeck and Ramsey were motivated and wanted to impress the manager.. And an Iwobi who was always changing the game from the bench with his power, pace, directness, urgency and agility.. We conceded 5 at Anfield, Were 3-0 down at wolves,3-0 at Leicester and 3-0 in Baku with Xhaka/Torreira. |

I doubt he can handle the egoistic senior payers, however, he's played almost all his games in England, understands the league, must have learnt from Moyes,Wenger and Pep.
