kokaneprodigy: The difference here is that not until results started going against us a lot of peeps said he’s doing excellently well, the manager kept playing him and hardly subs him. Aside Leno Guen has played most minutes for us, that further reinforces him to keep doing what he does. You now think the senior players telling him to correct it won’t be seen as bad belle.
At a point this season Guen was even dishing out instructions to other players on the pitch. That’s what overhyping a below par performance does to the psyche of a kid.
There’s nothing exceptional in Guen’s play to warrant the hype, his passes hardly threaten the opposition, he can’t tackle, he lacks pace what exactly does he do that Emery is building the team around him.
For all I know Emery could have been bribed by Guen’s agent. Another anguu Before the result started going bad, Auba,Guen and Martinelli were the only ones putting up the top class performance, they were voted players of the month and got to TOTW steadily, its clear, but you'll not admit it because you have preconceived mindset. Is it not normal that fans commend and praise them? The fans fury I read on every other platform has little to nothing to do with Guen, he was doing well and deserved his spot. There's nothing like bad belle, they are supposed to be leaders, but they may lack the confidence because the youngsters are even outshining them, they may be to ashamed of their errors.. There's nothing like hype, it is commending him for his effort, asking him to get better on your weak areas and never relent. Your last 2paragraphs, emotions as usual. |

patrickmuf: I like Guendouzi but he delays attack by holding on to the ball longer than necessary however that has a lot to do with his age. Ozil, Auba, David Luiz, Lacazette, Sokratis etc should be in a position to correct him.
At United, I remember when Ronaldo came and was fixated on entertaining the fans and drawing plaudits from fans, men like Keane, Giggs, Neville had to scold him. They demanded that release the ball earlier and it payed off. Arsenal need leaders and not what is on show...
But did you notice that the players wanted to lose the game desperately yesterday that at 1 vs 2 and with 7 mins added, Ozil was more comfortable passing backwards than going forward. Martinelli probably didn't get the script and Lacazette looked disappointed in himself after scoring. I have never seen fans of a club so oissed off after their club scored a goal except last season when Evertaons celebrated every goal Man City scored just so Liverpool don't win the league...Football is funny. Now this is a good view, This man likes Guen, he didn't hype like him like he is pilrlo or Modric, he points out his negative side of the game, suggested how it can be corrected as against outright condemnation of asking him to get the fvk out of here The united analogy is what I've been saying, but they twist it to mean " Ozil, Auba et al are the reasons for the young players mistakes |

kokaneprodigy: The fact that he caresses the ball in an effort to always be at the centre of the camera and the manager keeps him for 90mins and features him in every PL game tells you the manager likes it. So is the senior players that will tell him not to listen to a manager that already loathes them(senior players)?
He’s been playing same shii since last season and keeps getting playing time And you think he won’t be encouraged to do more of it.
This thing is simple logic!
You see why I said u and Solo watch games with emotions.
Both of em should fu.ćk off!!! You are the one who watch games with emotions, you don't see anything positive from the lad, it is outright condemnation.. That is not fair assessment, that afrodoc guy pointed to defense and CMs, its the Guendozi part that interest you, I've reiterated my desire for big tough midfielders, they can shield most of our young and small frame players.. There are so many far more rubbish going on in the pitch the manager hasn't addressed, is Guen caressing the ball the biggest issue at Arsenal atm? Is it his fault the manager can't manage him or others around him? Those who see games live from Emirates are not loathing him, they see potentials, you with emotions see him to fnck off What about Leno leading on errors leading to goals in the league? What about the senior clowns at the back? Your record signing missing chances after chances? The fitness of certain players who pants heavily? The boring predictable pattern of always wanting to walk the ball in the net? Rewarding the most erratic midfielder with captain and playing him game after game until fans booed him out? There are far more reasons why we are down or Emery should go, you know this but emotions won't gree you. |

afrodoc2: Hmmm well you talk am true true. You guys have no good CB and no leader in central midfield. It is lack of leadership that makes that Guendouzi caress the ball a million times before passing it. I like to read from the neutrals, no sentiment or emotions, they say it as it is.. You've said it right, The over 30yrs professional internationals who are supposed to lead the team and Marshall the defense requires Arterta and Ljumberg to come teach them basics and leadership.. Chambers,Holding and Mustafi are just "okay" not spectacular nor gradeA. The midfield of Torreira,Guendozi,Xhaka,Ozil and Willock used to have what some fans here secretly in thier mind believe is a leader in XHAKA, but unfortunately the fans who see games live at the emirates booed him off and were even suggesting young players like Guen, bellerin and Holding to take over. The situation is that bad, and its the reason why we suggest we get a big heart midfield destroyer in the mould of Viera like Ndidi or Thomas partey.. For me you can't rely on the Willocks,Guen and Torreira to guard your midfield in England for the whole season. Torreira though, older and more matured among the trio, but he is not Alex Song yet, he still needs cover. Lastly, like you rightly said, a team with a good coach and team leaders can correct simple stuffs like "carresing," the ball from players in thier formative stage. |

afrodoc2: A great achievement, but that is not the only point to consider. 1 good season can’t replace years of good seasons.
What is Wenger’s record in Europe? How many continental titles does he have?
What is their head to head record? Which of them flogged the other scoring 6 goals, 8 goals etc while fielding cheaply bought defenders in midfield?
Which of them delivered the TREBLE? Which of them won a European title with a small club like Aberdeen, beating Madrid and Bayern along the way? Wenger in his early years was on par with Fergie, they were the best manager in the country or even Europe then, the rivalry was much and none deserved to be tagged "overrated" Truthfully Wenger regressed in his latter years, he was stiff minded, not enough financial backing and he didn't have Howard Webb and Queen of England. |

Spy360: As good as your suggestion is, it's still looks like what we have done already with Emery. Like I pointed out, it is not a 1+1=2 matter. If not United would be top of the league by now after they got LvG, then Mourinho. We too got Emery but here we are still whining.
We are still in our trial process and any managerial change should not come as a surprise. We keep trying until we land the desired manager.
Meanwhile, Allegri is out of job. The bolded is my fear, we were excited with Emery, we felt Emery won 3europas with no huge financial backing (something we can't find on poch's CV) Trophies and big club experience at PSG, and how he made us believe he is bringing the high pressing quality football.. Its the reason why I'm not quick to suggesting names again, make we no fall into another scam.. But las las we go still take risk, its better we go an established one than all this youth corper coach like Freddie,Lana,Arterta et al Personally, I don't trust Allegri. |

Spy360: You singled out the good buys and avoided the bad ones. Klopp spent a lot of money to get here. It was money well spent though because of their last season's achievement. But it's also because they fortunate to have a very good manager overseeing it. A bad manager would make the club go into admin. Is this a risk Arsenal is willing to take? I guess not.
We are still in our trial process for a new manager. Even if we want to use Ljunberg or any manager, it will be for max two years until we are sure to hand him the club for long term. They were the major buys and most expensive in his first 2yrs, the Karius and Solankes were either free transfer or <£10M.. Before the UCL trophy, they were already at the top level and the positive signs were there already. Freddie will be another time wasting, the guy will just be attacked for nothing, let's get a good manager who understands the modern style of football, clear 3/4 deadwoods and celebrities, bring in 2/3 quality buys next summer, and implement the high intensive quality football.. The manager doesn't need to spend huge like klopp in his first years, he'll inherite better players than what klopp inherited. Just 2/3 signings within the £35M range. |

I was mentioning Freddie cos he must have learnt from wengay and emery plus he was the youths coach the youngsters know him very well. Bringing in expensive new coach is another trouble, if man utd can be patience with ole he will deliver and he's also unlucky with injuries Klopp's first 2 years were just normal business Mohamed Salah (£34m - 2017) Sadio Mane (£30m - 2016) Andrew Robertson (£8m - 2017) Georginio Wijnaldum (£25m - 2016) Fabinho (£39m - 2018) Oxlade Chamberlain (£35m - 2017) Xherdan Shaqiri (£13m - 2018) The above were decent business, they sold Coutinho and Suarez and some other low key players . Only Van dijk,Alison and Naby Keita are above £40M and they were after his 3rd year. After his first 2years he already to the top and was generating revenue for them.. So we can sell Kolasinac,Xhaka,Mustafi,Ozil,Mhicky,Elneny Sokratis and Nelson.. Introduce Mavro, bring in Saliba and pair Chambers/Luiz and Holding Look for a talented LB of little cost like Robertson to understudy KieranT, Guendozi&Willock will have matured and replace Elneny easily, bring in Ndidi or partey.. Use Martinali,Saka,Niles and pepe as wingers fo r now then go all out for another LW and AM next summer the following summer. |

Spy360: Mourinho to Spurs: My thoughts
Mourinho hasn't won a trophy since his second stint at Chelsea. After being spoilt in his first stint, he has been known to play with big money signings, something he doesn't seems to do without. Mourinho will guarantee you trophies but that is if you have money. This credit itself is becoming questionable after spending heavily at Man Utd his previous club with nothing to show for it. His joining Tottenham will either be the last nail that will seal his managerial coffin, or the one to start the rebuild of his managerial tower. This means he needs to have enough funds available to achieve it, and also satisfy the trophy desire of Spurs fans. Enough money to dough out and capture big players. Enough money, enough to break transfer records if that is what it takes. Something I am sure Daniel Levy, will not be willing to afford. Mourinho will priotise Fa cup and Carabao the moment he sees UCL and Bpl is far from his reach, he did this alot at Chelsea even at utd. He doesn't rest players for cup games from experience.. For now, I know he'll try and get top4, and go hard for the fa cup.. And his chances of winning it are high for the f.f reasons: Arsenal are after Top4 and Europa and will rest players for Fa cup. Liverpool's ambition this year is premier league title, they've got busy schedule and will rest players for Fa Cup. Utd, wants UCL football before any Fa cup Chelsea do not want to drop from table and want to go far in UCL.. Pep and Man city wants to win everything but will priorities UCL, failure to get UCL may get pep sacked.. And this spurs side have shown they can knock city out talk more of a rested squad. Mou knows how to win trophies, for spurs standard, they'll consider Fa cup and no UCL football as success. |

Arterta will be a huge gamble, understudying is not enough, we need to see him manage a team, Henri looked good understudying Martinez with Belgium at world cup, but we saw what became of him at Monaco. Viera last time I heard is struggling with Nice.. For me, Erik ten hag, Julian Nagelsmann, Jardim and Pochentino should top the options, they've played good football at the highest stage in recent times.. Jodera: Klopp not special? If klopp isn't special, then I don't know who is tbh. Var have been inconsistent this season in EPL. Yes there are some games var favored dem, but also against Aston Villa, var was against them... yet dey still won. And if it's about winning the ucl, you can't write him off cos it's a cup.. That's a special type of cup, and that's why nobody have won it back to back aside Zidane. Now let's see how special klopp is.. 1..Liverpool were so down finishing 7th or 8th wen he met dem. Their title winning run the previous year was an anomaly just like Leicester of 2015 (abi 2016), he turned average joes to great Stars. 2...in this crazy world of spending, he just spent highly on 2 people (gk and df) who not only improve d team, but massively improved the team. That tells you d kind of special coach he is. 3.. You talk of him bottling the league with 96points. I wouldn't tag that as bottling of league but of how good man city were. And I mean, very good. And that's why he's going for it again. Only special coaches do such. Most coach would have fizzled off after the height of last season, but he's even going a step further by doing a 100% winning streak. 4..Injuries are part of game and maintaining and guiding a player against injury is not all what most clubs have. If you notice, most of their players hardly go to injury... That tells you the kind of strong medical system they have, which is very needed in football. I mean, since d introduction of their front 3, how many times have dey not played together. 5...talk about the work ethic and d team spirit of Liverpool and his Dortmund days, and you'll see how great d manager was. Both teams was also ran b4 his arrival, now, both teams are/were conquerors.

We have some really skillful players but pace is a non negotiable trait in EPL. If what we see in matches is something to go by, Emery is clearly not making players work on their athleticism in the training. Because why run when we can just pass sideways and backwards. And Emery has said it many times, team is playing tactically how he wants and that is what he wants, to pass sideways and backwards.
Apart from Auba and Laca, every other player has absolutely abysmal shooting power and accuracy. Especially the midfield players, their shooting is Ugh. We see many teams in EPL frequently scoring goals from distance. At least we see some attempts that provide some momentary morale boost, but at Arsenal, we hardly see anyone even attempt a shot from distance. We need to take more chances like that. We can’t walk the ball to the goal every time. That makes us too predictable.
Once in a while, have Luiz, or Sokratis, or Holding take the ball to the final third providing one additional player for the opposition to deal with and smack a shot from distance. We need that kind of mentality, to mix it up, and not play like we are following a recipebook. Have Tierney or Bellerin, cut inside, instead of taking the wide wing, and mix up opposition markers. But I don’t think this sort of play falls under Goodebeningball. I haven’t seen so imaginatively dead as Emery to be honest.
Auba and Laca should work on ball playing skills and passing. Their shooting department is good, but they severely lack ball playing skills. Working on first touches, hold up play, headers, crosses, etc.

This is another pressing issue that's getting me disturbed, Football is about goals and a good team should have several means of achieving that. At Arsenal the culture from pa Wenger days till Mr good ebening's time is that we like always want to walk the ball in the net, score sexy neat passes goals that'll trend on social media.
it's like they don't train shooting.Iwobi was axed for his bad shootings, now pepe doesn't seem to have power to his shots
Kolasinac can be too predictable, he waits to be fed on the run so he can square play a tap in for Auba, he does that again and again, what happens to pulling the trigger atimes?
Belllerin did so at Leicester, his run paved way for laca, but he choose to fire it at goal and that's nice.
Ozil always want to pass the ball to net, Mesut should be bending the R2goals, Bernardo Silva's goal at Liverpool, I trust mesut to try and be looking for a final pass, or Madison's goal, Ozil will soft the ball and begin another cycle of pass me I pass you.
As much as Ramsey isn't the fans favorite, he was very good at this, Even Sanchez tries his luck from anywhere on the pitch
Could this be the reason why we have few shots on goal?
This team needs thorough and proper coaching, the training ground in london Colney looks like a play ground.
Please, I'm not saying we don't shoot nor score goals aside from passing it to the net, but the way we approach goals most times is so same and predictable.. Also, there's no where in my post I imply Ozil or other big names loved by fans I mentioned should be blamed. |

pazienza: None of Arsenal current midfielders have quick feet. None of them can dribble their way out of crowded midfield of small teams or out of the press of the top teams without losing possession.
Xhaka is sluggish and can't run to save his life, he also lacks close ball control. Put press on him or crowd him out and he concedes possession in dangerous areas of the field. Xhaka can only do long passes when he is allowed space, which doesn't happen against top level opposition. I usually tell people that Arsenal died the day Carzola got injured against Ludogerets in UCL and Xhaka became the main stay of our midfield.
Guendouzi is young, and still learning. I wouldn't be too harsh on him.
Torreira has lost his way a bit with constant change of role by confused Emery. He stagnated and now regressing.
Ceballos. Well, I wouldn't be too quick to make his deal permanent, if it were up to me, I haven't seen anything special about his game yet.
Watch Kovacic of Chelsea, he has very quick feet and very mobile. You can't crowd him out or use the press to dispossess him. He will either draw fouls from you, dribble his way out, or run away from your trap with the ball glued to his foot. We need such ball carrier in our midfield. It's sad seeing that Carzola still has it in him while we let him go for free.
When people talk about losing the Arsenal DNA under Emery, it's basically the dearth of such ball playing midfielders. They allow you dominate possession and dictate the tempo of a game. Arsenal game look disjointed at the center these days. Too many misplaced passes, lack of creativity all over the pitch. Our midfielders losing possession often expose our fragile alot. Imagine that Leno has the most shot saves in EPL. While it speaks volumes of how good a shot stopper he is, it also highlights how easy it is for opponents to have a go at our goal keeper, and this tend to happen often because our midfielders lose possession in dangerous areas of the final third.
While I agree we need an Ndidi/Doucoure/Partey type of midfielders, we also need the ball playing midfielders as well, if we still care for our beautiful football I heard Carzola still long to play for Arsenal again. If he can play for Spanish national team, then he certainly can play for us. Can we do business with Villarreal this January, I reckon we can do a job for us in our top four chase, if we are still in it by then.
Xhaka should go. I love this, only if Emery and his crew read fan's opinion. I knew Emery will fail when he made Xhaka a crucial member of his team, I wonder if he doesn't see what we see in him. How he wants to rely on Guendoxi for a whole year is shocking, Guen will try, but he won't boss it in England for now, maybe in liga or other leagues.. Bro, the carzola situation is a mystery, no one expected him to come back and shine like this, may be England will be too rough for him, maybe he can still do it, and of course I wouldn't mind him on loan. |

Spy360: I agree that most top managers use the 4-3-3 these days but really bro, no pattern is better than the other. It's who uses it that matters. Conte came to EPL with the 3-5-2 and won the league at second attempt. Again no formation is best, it's who uses it that matters. You are right, but IMO,I feel and prefer the 433, I love the barca,Madrid,Bayern,PSG, Liverpool and city's football than that Chelsea's. I think its the leading formation atm, surely, whoever uses and the materials available matters. |
