Please, the branch I went to requested for utility bill and the address is different from the one I used on paypal because it's for a prepaid meter and I guess it was purchased remotely. Now, won't I have issues if my paypal address is different from my africard address? |
I would say the reason why I ace reading easily started from secondary school(it was called comprehension then). MY ADVICE AND STRATEGIES:. 1. Don't go beyond the word count limit.no more than two words means maximum of two words. 2.Write all answers in block letters, that way you won't forget to capitalize a proper noun. 3.Time Management: passage 1 is 13 questions.passage 2 is 14Q. passage 3 is 13Q. Passage 1 is the easiest and passage 3 is the hardest.I recommend 15mins for P1(or less),15mins for P2,at least 30mins for P3.When you do practice tests, ensure you time yourself so that you don't go overboard.it is imperative. 4.When I get my question booklet,I DONT read the passages, you will be wasting valuable time.Go straight to the questions,For me i read 4 questions once, then i underline the keywords and circle some and replace them with two synonyms,I then go back to the passage and find the answers.Quickly finding answers is a skill that takes time to build.Taking 4Q once helps you save time because in the bid of finding the answer to number 2,you might find the answer to number 3 or 4.(this is better than one question at a time).secondly, the questions in section 1 and 2 are chronological(if you found the answer to number 7 and you cant find the answer to number 6,most probably, the answer to 6 is just above number 7)[this doesnt apply in passage 3]. 5. For matching headline with paragraph:you dont need to read the entire paragraph.Read only the first two sentences, the topic sentence is always there. This is enough to summarize the paragraph. If you cant still match it because the information is not enough, read the last sentence(it will contain the summary).I think sometimes(rare cases) they put the summary in the middle. Also, sometimes a paragraph may have quotation marks expressing the speakers thought, that is all you need to read to match it.Another thing i do is;I look at the list of headings and rewrite them with my own words. for instance,a heading like 'the robots main function'......I replace 'main' with synonyms like primary or key.....i replace 'function' with importance, use or purpose. That way, when i read the first 2 sentences of the passage, the answers are staring at me brightly. 6.For T/F/NG..Most people tend to answer these question based on their knowledge(it is WRONG)If the passage says the capital of Nigeria is Paris, then the capital of Nigeria is Paris.dont infer or deduce. Passage:Baron pierre de coubertin, the founder of modern olympics aim was to bring together, once every four years, athletes from all countries on the friendly fields of amateur sport. question:only amateur athletes are allowed to compete in the modern olympics. answer:NOT GIVEN Here's another one:John jumped from the 8th floor of UBA house. question:john died as a result of the fall Answer:NOT GIVEN(even though we know john would die but it wasnt mentioned in the passage). Passage: The architectural design of the building is shoe-box shaped. question :the building has a shoe-shaped design answer:FALSE 7. It is good to circle peoples name(Xerxes, Einstein), dates, countries, cities etc.For instance, a passage might say 50 years ago,if you focus on 50 years in the passage, you might not see your answer.what i would do is to look for synonyms like 'half a century' or '5 decades ago'.this technique also works for 'SENTENCE COMPLETION' and 'FLOWCHART' questions. Also, in sentence completion, use ONLY words used in the passage. Dont change the form of the word(if its simple present , write simple present)and the sentence must be grammatically correct with the word/words you have chosen. 8.Learn to practice skimming and scanning:quickly look for key information and quickly read for the main idea. 9.Lastly, I always underline key points on all the passages and find appropriate synonyms to replace them except the ones that cannot be replaced(I think you should because it saves time and you will find the answers easily).{my question paper always looks like a baby learning how to scribble...plenty jaga jaga because na so so underline and circles full my question booklet} I think the easiest module on the IELTS is reading[my opinion] because the answers are staring at you,all you need to do is search for them.unlike listening, where if you dont hear the word it is finished. IT IS FINISHED! |
[quote author=Topsmamen Congratulations to a very selfless senior. May Canada favour you. |
Rence22 My question hence. Is it possible for the University to send transcript to Wes via email. If yes that would be great. No, it's not. I tried it and it didn't work out. |
[quote author=ladymarshall @flourisher Congrats on your WES. All the best tomorrow for ITA. May the draw favour you Amen, thanks sis. |
[quote author=iaatmguy post=78173996]flourisher how is the application going? I just scaled the WES hurdle since November. I was caught up in the WES "siesta"abi na recession sef, they need to be flogged with aboki koboko, though I was compensated with a beautiful badge (I knowest not the importance). The most heartbreaking one is Naija university, they have further strengthened my decision, the drama was a real-time tragedy. I'll definitely intercede for my father (mother sef join) land from afar (this heat can't help that kain prayer). I'm in the pool now waiting for the most delicious draw soup. I really appreciate your kind gesture, thanks for checking on me. |
Mariesio:He's actually right, BC's at Mauve 21. |
[quote author=kfrosh post=74390818]Please I will like to know if any graduate from covenant has used the email verification of transcript. Wanna know if it's safe to use email to send certificate and transcript or it's better to go the hard copy route. Check my earlier post, please do not waste your time and money! The school demanded that I pay for another transcript cos the seal was removed to scan and send through e-mail. I wasted three weeks and still had to pay twice. However, you can try it and if it works, others will learn from you. |
[quote author=joo2018 post=74201050]Both affidavit (the 2k option being mentioned) and notary public (30-40k) are accepted. Alright |
[quote author=jholarharde Please can I also PM you ma? I need the guidance too. |

Before now, I know have got wonderful people better than a thousand friends on this thread. Your tots, expressions and spirited hearts since i posted my IELTS experience on this thread still marvels me till tomorrow. Congrats boss, you are so selfless and the reward is just starting, God's speed. |
Congratulations It's ITA finally! In the past week, my anxiety for a back-to-back draw today has been.......sigh. |
Penny wise, pound foolish, my Uni sent my transcript via e-mail cos I begged dem o even when I wasn't sure of the email add (paid 10k). Now WES did not receive the stuff and I have to use courier cos I haven't seen anybody here that knows the right email. Now, I will pay for another transcript (though won't wait for any processing time) and still pay for dhl (I'm paying 16k total on compassionate grounds). Please learn from my experience (and the man that even had his IELTS expired)- don't take the route you can't guarantee even if it's cheaper. I wasted about 7k and still delayed my evaluation for almost 3 weeks. Tototototo PS: The hellofax works amazingly, it saved me money for sending the certs. |
[quote author=iaatmguy post=73835219]BIG CONGRATULATIONS to you,God bless you, thank you for this detailed post Amen, the love, prayers and encouragement on this thread is so great. Thanks fam |
COPR:Thank you |
My e-family! I passed my Ielts o, I PASSED! I couldn't sleep kankan, been refreshing the page but showing result not found, I just enter gentle mode, didn't want to talk too much, I was just liking all the posts on this page without even reading and worse still you people were unusually quiet yesternight so nothing to engage me, the tension no be here o but now, the journey looks real to me. First attempt BC Overall Band:8.0 Listening: 8.5 Reading: 9.0 Writing: 7.0 Speaking: 7.5 NaGodwino! I doubted myself a week to the exam, I have an extremely demanding job (7-4.30), two boys (3.4 n 1.5) with no help (hubby stays in another state and came home the night before my speaking test). Thanks to God almighty, I used the study materials on page 1, I chose advantage by Chris and the material that came with the registration. I made dinner immediately I return from work (if you greet me pass 5sec after close of work, I will politely tell you I have an appointment), fetched water (yes, pumping machine decided to spoil then smh), washed school uniforms, did homework (I had to warn the teacher, omo reduce the homework or you do it by yourself o) cajoled the kids to eat and sleep before 7pm (my toddler is still nursing, so that gets him to sleep faster, though stressful for me, for my 3yr old, I just pretend I am sleeping and after his numerous activity, he gets bored and sleeps off- sometimes, I also end up sleeping off lol). So, I studied from 7pm-9pm (non-church service days, stopped attending mid-week service the week before exam (church days 8-9)), slept till 12, then studied from 12-5am to go make breakfast, walking like a zombie (most times, I complete my dressing up @ work, shebi na to come early, wu fashion parade hep?). I did all the practice on the website that Chris and BC recommended except the writing- did about 4 writing practice tests I wasn't 100% confident in what I learnt, so, I felt I needed to read more. I used my husband for the writing practice, whenever he chats me about work or anything, I will respond with either a formal or informal task 1 essay (e.g. I wrote an unsubmitted letter of complaint to the bread seller that sold him spoilt bread stating when and where he purchased, method of payment, emotions and the action needed lol, he had to beg me to stop correcting his statements). Then on weekends, I would send him my task 2 essay and he would mark and correct, whatever he says, I would paraphrase using a different but exact in meaning word and restructure the statement So, I had 3 hrs sleep @ home, 30 minutes sleep @ work (during lunch time) and occasional dozing offs @ work. Boy I had headache but I lost the extra weight, someone begged me to recommend the drug I was using to shed weight lol. My speaking was quite short and I lied no be small (well its called fiction). My examiner was speaking Yoruba ponbele while I was at the door and immediately I stepped in, she turn Oyinbo, DiarisGodo. I spoke on the song I like and the only song I could remember was Asa. I couldn't remember any other song in the whole wide world! I kukuma talked about the song and I am sure the examiner knows the song cos she was looking at me in a funny way like you know I don't believe you right? Wetin consan me and it took her a lot of effort to be professional lol (I said Asa lifts my spirit, identifies with my personality, ah iro yen po! abi when I didn't know what to jot down within first 5 secs, I turned to fiction o). In the Part 3, I made sure I used a lot of past, present and future tenses. I knew I did well though I didn't give my absolute best and I really trusted God for a miracle. On the exam day, just as someone here said, I met two people I least expected, I used the restroom about thrice, the last time was to dance before the writing cos I was getting nervous. The listening was quite clearer than I expected, the part where the PhD student was talking about his future plans was what got me confused. Reading was bam, finished in 33 minutes, read over like 10 times. For writing, I spent extra time on task 1 about 24minutes before I borrowed myself brain. For task 2, I supported that giving gifts is better than other methods of showing we care and gave examples and detailed explanations. I didn't vary my vocab as much as I learnt cos the time was fast ticking. I read each sentence, paragraph and the entire tasks twice (Please write in pencil and edit your work). I was optimistic, I prayed, fasted, confessed and believed God. God is faithful! If I can make it, then I believe you don't have any excuse |

Debsify:Please how long will it take them to acknowledge the receipt of the docs I sent through fax? I saved the docs with my ref no. or is there another way to put the ref no? Finally, how do I exclude verifying my bachelor's? cos they mailed me that they are still awaiting it but I definitely don't want to evaluate it |
jrapheal:The selfie will make sense o |
[quote author=Medal007 post=73736796]Yes and no, in some state they've never done such before so they'll just turn you off while in some they've been doing. In Ibadan Neco office, it is 20k with your scratch card alone, you don't need remita |
Ifeoma77:Is the scratch card no longer a requirement? Or is it bulk sending they don't want? |
Please, I need the e-mail address of WES for my Uni to send my transcript. Thank you |
Yeuniecesir:Please, I am interested in sending mine too in a group, if there's any |
