Comrade Elliot said: “We want to reiterate and clearly warn that the North will not, and will never allow presidency to move to the South in 2019.
When I see things like this, I get really annoyed. If its one Nigeria as they claim, why must the first criterion for electing a leader be based on tribe or region against competence, leadership skills, qualification etc
My schoolmate here: A northerner once told me in 2014, that "never will an Hausa man allow a man from the South rule them again". This guy is a PhD student, more intelligent than average, well exposed, family man with two kids! How could he reason like that nah. It shows that the disunity is skin-deep!
Well, from that day onwards, I started making up my mind that we can never be one. The only reason why Nigeria is still one is because of the oil in the South. I wish we as Southerners will come together in one voice and seccede. We are not one! |

Career › Re: Should Employees Access Social Media At Work? by flyca: 7:45am On Jun 14, 2017 |
In my company, you cannot access your social media from your work station even if you try. You can only access our company's website and social media where all your work is delegated, done and reported. But there is a work station with a fress-access computer for every department with the label "CAFE" where staffs can randomly go to "unwind". All open sites are accessible on this "CAFE computer". Most people "unwind" with their phones though. When my mobile data is low, the cafe is where I access and curze on NL But the R&.D department is highly secluded, they can only access the intranet there. Other non R&.D staff will even need a pass to get their section. |

Travel › Re: FAAN Bans Luggage Screening At MMIA Departure Hall by flyca: 9:58am On Jun 08, 2017 |
greetings: All that is still manageable na! Sometimes in November on arriving MMA, we moved from the plane to the arrivals through one mysterious tunnel, as we entered we were greeted with the stench from the lavoratories/laterines we call convenience .... OMG! I wanted to faint... But guess what that was just a tip of the "mount Kilimanjaro"
The whole place was DARK... as in pitch dark.... We had to use our instinct to navigate through, some people fell down coz they didn't see a stair that end down, this almost caused a stampede... Our papers were checked with phone torchlight by customs. The icing on the cake is that me as a citizen of Nigeria was held in a queue of about 300 people for over an hour all in the name of stamping our passports, while foreigners had their own queue moving at fast as my eye blinks. Imagine this when you're coming back from a country where you were in minority but things work so well you were accorded with respect.
PLEASE SOMEONE REMIND ME THE BENEFITS OF BEING A NIGERIAN.
it's all messed up! Hahahaha I don't know which is worse, your dark tunnel or ours. We landed at 1pm. The plane parked in the hanger which is normal. But no tunnel at all at all. We had to walk that distance from the hanger to the reception under 1 o'clock hot sun with our luggages! The sudden change in temperature from aircooled plance to okpokpo sun Imagine the rude welcome. SMH My sister, it is not well o Anyway, let's laugh it out |

At the departure lounge, I was shocked that in the year 2017, I was given a small form to hand-fill my luggage tag with pen! Even passenger luggage were measured with bathroom scales The airport banner "Arrivals" was as tiny as something written with an eye pencil. Dear PYO, please look into these too. Its very embarrasing |

FitnessDoc: I am very impressed that Miss Nigeria does not feel the suffering of her own people when it comes to poverty and unemployment, but focuses on climate change..
I have never heard of any of her open letters to the Nigerian government
Here is my message
Let me say this to you all on nairaland.. Creating entrepreneurs will not and never save Nigeria's economy or create more jobs for the people.. You see everyone claiming that they have the passion, that they have the skill and they want to become entrepreneurs because Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gate made them believe they would..
Friends, let me tell you Bill Gates and Mark Zuck's ideas were enhanced by a favourable economy and that is what we need... To create employment for the people we need to stop believing the lies like Npower and start protesting for real jobs (Npower ends in 2 years time you know).... Just look at some companies in American and how many people they employ
Apple - 75,000 Microsoft - 114,000 Google - 61,000 Facebook - 17,000 Berkshire Hathaway - 367,700 General Electric - 301,000 Walmart - 2.3 million people (This company employs 1.4 million in the United States alone) Amazon - 341,000
That is almost 4 million people employed by just 8 companies and one of these companies Walmart employs over 1.4 million people in just one country alone.. that is 1.4 million jobs created by just one company.
Imagine if government start building STEEL COMPANIES, FACTORIES FOR PRODUCTION, REFINING COMPANIES, BIG AGRIC FARMS, instead of giving us fertilizers loans to go and do it ourselves..
Imagine if the government passes a law that any foreign company that wants to do business in Nigeria, must have one of its assembling plants or operating factories here in Nigeria and 40% of the employees must be Nigerians..
Imagine such... There would be so much jobs... With at least 2 large farms in every state (owned and run by the government possibly) employing over 5,000 people each... That 360,000 jobs in 36 states with more jobs being created through distribution and exporting of the products... I reckon tens of thousands more jobs..
Just Imagine.. Don't let all you hear about Entrepreneurship fool you.. As long as the economy is bad, entrepreneurship will face more problems and it will be harder for those with real dreams to make real impact..
We can do sometime by sharing this idea with the government.. We can do something by speaking up to them about this instead of blaming them.. Let us make an effort so that we can eat good food, have security and sleep at night..
it is for our own good..
Let us speak it on every thread and post it on our social media handles, with the #Nigeriamustchange
I remain Paul Samuel FitnessDoctor, your favorite health blogger Its been long I read something this intelligent on NL last. If you have time, check up this thread: https://www.nairaland.com/3814961/why-still-unemployedThis was the same message I was trying to preach but the average Nigerian youth has either being bought with ten pieces of silver or maybe just forming ITK. Mandesz: only a fool like u will take any SR news serious. Why did you call me a fool now? Asides SRs, the news Dino posts/tweets about himself, his public conduct and all, is it worthy of emulation? Does it inspire people to be their best? Is it what should be of a person who is supposed to be accountable to the masses? Apologise to me, I've done nothing wrong to deserve such harsh word from you. |

Just look at Dino's record this year alone. The only times he surfaces on the news and media, its never for anything positive, anything inspirational, anything worthy of emulation. And ordinarily, nobody this controversal, as Dino is, should be allowed in politics or occupy a leadership position for this long time. But alas, this is Nigeria. Even Dino himself is now writing a book on how we should kill corruption . Angel Micheal o, what's the delay nah |
