![]() tellwisdom:All your posts on NL come with a squeezed face. Even for a sensitive case such as this? Can't you be civil for once? Are you naturally silly or are you just trying? OP my thoughts and prayers are with you this time. This too shall pass. |
Happy Birthday ma. Your daughter loves you, so do I. You will live long to enjoy the fruits of your labour. |
Bur I tot GEJ and crew promised us uninterrupted power by the end of the year ![]() |
Also (even though if this is true there is little or nothing that can be done), did you compel her to marry you?. Was there a mutual understanding and agreement to marry each other or you wanted to and succeeded in marrying her. Were you both in love before the marriage or was it one sided love? I say this because, my school mother for instance had a suitor, very nice guy, was really serious with marrying her, he was just an eligible bachelor. 2008 she told me there was this thing with him she didn't like, she doesn't like and she will never like. Even whenever he tells her hello over the phone, she said, she gets depressed again. So she told him she was not interested, and was not ready for marriage then. For where? That guy followed me eh.... He pestered me oooooooo, sending gifts, calling and declaring unending love for her. He said she was his ideal woman. She blocked him off. Now here is the deal, 2010 she has got into the "settling down quick lane" and in the absence of any other eligible suitor, she ran back to him, and marriage sets. I was in her house for 2 days in 2013. Chai! She as just snapping at the poor guy anyhow over nothing! She has always been a very pleasant person to me, she took me to many places, she was nice to colleagues, her hair dresser likes her, but at home, you really feel for the guy. Even when she is answering his call, I feel like covering her mouth with my hand! And the guys still has a lot of love and patience for her. You may choose to search deeper, but as I said earlier, if it's that she doesn't like your big head with drab voice, or you drool while talking, or that you are not polished enough but you are the only viable option as at the point of marriage, I extend my sympathy to you. There is nothing much one can do but to live with it. I repeat, it is well with you. |
OP, permit me to ask, are you the husband to my "sister"? Is your initial N.I.N? Ok on a serious note, OP, I can really relate to your situation because I have a "sister" like that around me. Exactly the same traits you mentioned. In fact, we (family members) call the husband, Saint Nxxxxx. Lol. That guy has heard nwiiiiii. Eh... How does she relate with her family members? Cos for my "sister's" case, the matter don tire all of us. Even the way she talks to her own mom (a very amiable and lovely woman) just sends shivers to us. Her own has defied every solution, so I don't even have an advice to give you, but just to encourage you. You are not alone, God will see you through. You may have gotten a life-long cross to carry, carry it diligently. Lets hope that in between, there will be a miraculous turn-around. It is well with you! |
She should have used the money for one of the Dubai shopping dresses to paint that wall. What an eyesore ![]() Happy married life. |
Nicepoker:Hey, that's not a nice thing to say. If you have a link, pls help him. |
SeaGold:Hide your head in shame. U are worse than OP's husband. Focus ko, illusion ni. Didn't you read verbal abuse in what the OP wrote? Why would a man open his mouth and call the mother of this kids such derogatory names? Pls if you are just looking for likes check another less sensitive thread. The lady is already down, no need kicking her on the floor. |
esere826:Same here, and so I'm with you on this. Also how could you use 6 pillars to support a roof, not even a balcony, a roof! Well, its common in Nigeria designs but I don't buy the idea. Cheers! |
No. Humans are highly unpredictable beings. Deal with each person according to present situation |
Me next.... Going to the village for Christmas as kids, my mum wanted us to blend with village life, sweep the compound, fetch drinking water from stream... (to a large extent, she was trying to impress village people, grandma and co wives). Lol First morning, 6am, wake up call. Chai! I mean why are we even in a hurry to get up when its a full free day. But no problems its all adventure ![]() She had bought jerry cans ready for going to stream. 6:30 prayers were over and we were set for stream with Granny's house boy, Arinze, leading the way. By the time we dragged our lives to the stream, we already met people coming back (second round) for the morning. On a normal trip, it takes 20 minutes to reach the stream from my house. Trust kids it took us twice that time. My village stream has almost a 90 degree slope and steep about a 100 feet downwards within a very short horizontal distance. Descent and ascent is definitely not for the faint-hearted ![]() So on hands and knees, we crept down hills to the river. Arinze quickly helped us filled our jerry cans. Climbing back up, every spirit of adventure was vanished! See bickering, murmuring, crying and other home kids laughing at us. Free drama for them, and to add to it, we were speaking in "unusual tongues". Lol Immediately, we got up, Arinze asked if we could trace back our way home (he probably had sensed it will take us two hours to get back, and we had disorganized his daily routine). With a few uncertain nodes and yes guesses, he hurried out leaving us to our fates. Very long journey home, But to cut the long story short, we got home at 1pm that day. We had circled the almost the whole village before we got back hungry, bare footed, sun-burnt, abandoned water cans, scratches on the skin when we followed a bush part while tracing our way. My mum and aunt had taken foods in food boxes to look for us down to the stream with non of us with a trace. Every one worried and waiting. When we returned, we were celebrated like "Prodigal Sons". Well, we went back to the stream on regular bases (we negotiate with mumsy the day to go and the day not to). Her philosophy being that "Practice makes perfect". I love that lady! Haha. Today, I look back and am happy for all those training years ![]() |

There is something in the market for snorers, a silicon nose clip, and its very cheap. Lemme get the picture... But I don't know if it is the Nigerian market yet.

bigfrancis21:Ok. I have edited it. Pls do well to un-quote me. I'm in China. Its about 9pm now. I will send it shortly. |
Guys are not any less guilty. Lol |
bigfrancis21:2013 batch of what? I need someone to help me review my cover letter for the current shell graduate recruitment. A lot of online sources, conflicting. |
bigfrancis21:2011. Pls can you send a mail to zizimails@yahoo.com My application is still hanging |
bigfrancis21:Hi, I did same course, same uni. I need your assistance as I'm currently doing the present shell recruitment test. |
Olutola88:Pls calm down sir. "I once heard". I heard that too. But I have read through the pages of this thread and no one refuted that claim. All na rumor. I'm just digging for something more tangible. Thanks all the same. |
Olutola88:Pls do you know if it is the same for all oil companies? I just weak, just wondering why I am going through the extra stress of M.Engr ![]() |
Olutola88:Pls the bolded is my greatest concern now. As we wait for "better response" can you throw more light on this. Does it mean, at Entry level, qualification (probably by job test) is what matters, and not your highest degree? |
Olutola88. Pls I need clarification. Some people on this platform said Shell and Mobile do not necessarily require a Masters degree (in other words: it doesn't give any edge). The only requirement is a 2.1 (minimum) in Engineering field. Pls is it true? Lemme know if I'm just waisting my time here ![]() |
karmaleon:But I just saw another thread here on NL about graduate trainee in shell. I don't think Masters was a requirement. |
thorpido:You call 22 23 teenagers ![]() |

Setting wrong priorities As with fame, most celebrities do not want to leave the spotlight, and by all means want to maintain status quo by marrying people within the spotlight circle, or people rich enough to keep the fame flame burning. At this time, compatibility is the last question on their minds. So its almost always a disaster waiting to happen. My opinion ![]() |
