dokiOloye:Guy, honestly, beyond trading what else can a brother do over there? I love Onitsha more than Aba but look, I am not into trading. I am an I.T consultant/Real Estate developer. To buy land in Enugu is a frustrating exercise coz there's an unofficial policy not to sell land to outsiders. My team and I once tried to invest in estate development there a few years back and that was our experience. The only way out was to purchase the land by proxy, which wasn't too palatable. I think a lot of your home based folks have an apprehensive disposition about selling land to non-indigenes. That's my experience anyway. |
willow0802:Yeah, we are so poor and broke that y'all can't stay away from Yorubaland? ? Go and ask IrokoTv boss, Jason Njoku, why he prefers Yoruba programmers to igbo ones. It's coz we have the proficiency and competence to meet his standard. Even he is now avoiding his igbo brothers at Alaba coz of their shady and dubious ways -- they have virtually destroyed whatever value is left of Nollywood,no thank to the piracy they perpetrate. Bad-belle is dangerous to your health. Beware. |
willow0802:Hahahaha. You mumu die, walahi. I am currently using Spectranet and also have swift. Spectranet is not only as fast, if not faster, than both Swift and Smile, but it also cheaper like you admitted, but it also gives me MORE gig/bandwidth than both smile and swift (though swift really isn't half-bad). But smile is a no-no; shitty speed, too expensive, overall shitty service. |
dokiOloye:In your dreams. Didn't you hear about the igboman in Lagos who abandoned his family after his wife had two sets of twins in Lagos? Was it not Ambode that came to the family's rescue? Ngozi Nwosu and Ifeanyi Dike, both Nollywood professionals based in Lagos were suffering from life-threatening diseases and cried for help, none of their SE brothers or even governors came to their aid but Fashola footed their bills, flew them out of the country for treatment and consequently they are still with us today thanx to Yorubas. Those are just 3 examples out of many. Now, Yorubas own, govern, control and dominate Lagos. And we are proud that other ethnic groups find our land and region prosperous and accommodating enough to help them achieve success in life. It's the same reason most people prefer Uk, U.s, Canada, to the likes of Iraq, Afghanistan (which represent your own barren region where your own folks, investors, and other Nigerians are obviously avoiding). Igbos are not the only non-indigenes thriving in our land, other Nigerians are not excluded, and we are proud of it coz it is to our credit that we are that open-minded and accommodating. Why can't the same be said about your own region? ? |
willow0802:Swift is foreign owned though the country manager is Igbo. Smile is Igbo owned and a recent entrant into the market. It's still a crawling struggling brand. Neither can hold a candle near Spectranet. |
huangcheng:Here: https://www.nairaland.com/2322312/ogun-state-nigerias-emerging-industrial Educated yourself and choke on your own bad-belle. FACT: Ogun state is Nigeria's current industrial hub, surpassing even Lagos. And please don't playa hate on Yorubaland for attracting unprecedented FDI and multinationals. Up till now we are yet to see any concrete proof of any worthwhile contribution of your accursed SE region. |
huangcheng:You are nothing but a jealous yes.bo dolt. Oba Otudeko heads Honeywell group. That your region has failed to attract big multinationals is not Yorubaman's fault. Your response still didn't refute the fact that our banks dominate our region. Guy, you are trying too hard to sound smart but you can are typical igbo 419er. Capital oil is in receivership and ifeanyi uba is scamner cum (his coscharis scam cones readily to mind) oil importer and nothing more. How many filling stations does he have in Lagos and Nationwide? It is a CRIME and Blasphemous to compare Capital oil to Oando. MainOne cable is owned and operated by Yorubas. Naija's premiere ISP, Spectranet, is a a Yoruba business. Go and ask IrokoTv which ethnicity drives their I.T department -- SW unis churn out the best and brightest I.T experts. Cc hub, Naija's premiere I.T incubator is owned and run by Yorubas. I repeat, our engineers and tycoons dominate the Telecom sector (Adenuga). |
willow0802:The only bizness you all are developing at Badagry is Okada business. Abeg save your remaining "development" for your Utopian Biafra. |
willow0802:Are you blind? Didn't you read where I wrote that I reside at Northern Foreshore. Where gangan are you? We are talking about Lekki - Ajah axis here, not Awka. |
willow0802:Look, if you are talking about Onitsha or Awka in Anambra, na Una get am. But nnot Lagos. Na we dey control our economic sector in Lag, not to mention Ogun. How many Igbos own homes at Ikeja GRA, Ikoyi, Magodo? Only the few affluent ones that got rich no thanks to Yoruba open-mindedness and liberalism in our region. No more, no less. |
willow0802:You are bold faced liar. I live at Chevron myself (Northern Foreshore). Na my area be that. The igbos living there a handful compared to Yorubas, gbabeski. Even chevron oil coy self na Yoruba corner all the posts there. Lekki ma we own. Don't kid yourself boy. |
Igbos are proven empty vessels and get more than they contribute to the Nigerian state. They may dominate Anambra but Lagos is Yoruba turf. The only sector they dominate in Lagos is Alaba and Computer village trading sector. Banking, Telecoms, Insurance, Real Estate, Media, Manufacturing belong to the Yorubas. No contest there. |
AroOkigbo:Guy, Ondo receives more allocation than Imo not to mention Abia owing to its contribution of more barrels. You are talking rubbish. |
huangcheng:Mike Adenuga (Glo) and Honeywell alone have shyt all over your rubbish list up there. Those businesses you listed are nothing compared to those two alone. Our banks (Skye, GTB, First Bank) dominate and shyt all over yours, We dominate Insurance, Telecoms, IT sectors in Lagos. and even Oando has more stations than Capital oil by far. We control the Real estate sector in our region. Don't kid yourself guy. You people are mere traders and nothing more. |
AroOkigbo:Did you miss the part where he clearly said Ondo contributes 12% of Oil while SE is 8%? For all the noise you all make you all aren't contributing jack! |
Customs Generated N2.36bn from Ogun-Benin border between January and April 2015 http://businessdayonline.com/2015/06/nigeria-%E2%80%8Ecustoms-generates-n2-3bn-from-ogun-benin-borders/ |
Customs Area Controller for Oyo/Osun Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, Mr. Mohammed Bawa, yesterday said the Command generated a whopping N5,898,773,058.56 in the last four months. The customs boss, while addressing journalists in Ibadan shortly before carrying out destruction of 120 cartons of imported frozen products it seized, said a total of 92 seizures with eight suspects were taken into custody in the period under review, while Duty Paid Value of the seizures amounted to N218.5 million. He said: “Operatives of the command will continue to intensify efforts at keeping the recalcitrant smugglers, especially of imported poultry products out of business, while those caught will be made to face the law.” Bawa, who took over command on March 25 this year, charged members of the public to support government’s ongoing war against importation of imported frozen poultry products, which he said, apart from being injurious to health, would also cripple the economy. |

Freemanan:Guy, I know enough about offor's business activities but he's like a drop in the Ocean in spite of his efforts coz his billionaire ilk are refusing to invest in the SE. Abakaliki rice production is yet to attain its true potential and capacity so don't even mention that. Listen, development isn't about building mansions no one resides in. In spite of all these overhyped 'development', SE youths are still fleeing the region in droves and risking their lives as drug-traffickers/mules on a daily basis, so go figure. |
Freemanan:Hahahaha. For your mind, guy. Most of your 'infrastructure' amount to no more than residential homes that are mostly empty except during Christmas since the bulk of your really successful population reside and earn a living outside of the region. And did I hear you say economy? Beyond trading at Onitsha, Aba and Ariara markets, what other viable businesses exist in the region? No be una dey complain of brain-drain coz not all of your people can become traders. Guy talk another thing abeg. Una dey overrate unasef. |
liberty300:Guy, I have been to both threads and both states. Is the SE the 'most' developed in terms of economy or residential infrastructure and "skyline"? Coz every state has its own GRA o, last time I checked. ?? |
Freemanan:Sorry, but I don't get what you all mean by 'most developed'. Is that in terms of economy or residential infrastructure and "skyline"? Coz every state has its own GRA o, last time I checked. ?? |
koboko69:Guy, forget that thing. Don't be deceived by those selective GRA pix they flash up and down here. SE poverty no get part 2. Why else are their people so eager to migrate to other regions. Smh. |
Udmaster:I have some serious questions for you guy. Perhaps you can answer them since you're a loud-mouth and all. Why do other Nigerians find the SE inhospitable and uninhabitable? Even PH, in the SS, has more appeal than any SE state to outsiders. And considering how much noise you all make about your 'hard-work' (which has been proven to be a mere myth coz we all now know most of your millionaires are importers of fake products or drug-traffickers) and 'ingenuity', why is it proving so difficult for you to appeal and create another Lagos, PH, or Kano replica in the SE where other Nigerians can feel a part of, and why is it that trading is the only viable venture in the entire SE? Why don't other Nigerians feel free and safe enough to reside in the SE as they do in other part of the country? I can mention areas in at least 3 Yoruba states where your people reside in their numbers, trading and living peacefully like no man's business. Why can't the same be said about your region? Is it that you people are too clannish, inhospitable, unwelcoming, or what? |
Udmaster:Perhaps Lagos is too much for you? Ok, you can try Ibadan, another mini-London. There's an area there called Ekotedo, na your kinsmen full the place, just as them full AJ city ghetto for Lagos. Catch an ABC bus to IB city, when you arrive there gimme a holler for directions. ![]() |
Udmaster:Chai! E pain am. . Guy, if you get paypal or paga, I fit wire you money to catch the next bus to Lagos (mini-London , Land of Milk and Honey) from your Onitsha base. You are welcome to try your luck here. ![]() |
zuchyblink:Blame God for cursing/depriving you all of the ONLY criteria for success (according to you ), a seaport, and for favouring and blessing us Yorubas with access to the sea. Smh. The Lekki Port is coming soon too, so watch out We have 3 access-points to the sea -- Lagos, Ogun, and Ondo. No be us, na God. ![]() |
Udmaster:Guy, dem no born ijaw well to try am. You can repeat a lie a million times and it will remain a lie, so continue ![]() |
Udmaster:You can repeat that to yourself a billion times if it makes you cum all over yourself for all we care . It doesn't stop Ebuka from disembarking at ABC transport at Bodija Ibadan with all his belongings, in search of the prosperity only our land can offer. It won't make your kinsmen selling okrika and hawking recharge cards at Ogbomosho to consider relocating back to your drug-infested and erosion cursed region. Guy, even Obiano is on record for saying all the chicken meat consumed in the entire SE are sourced from Oyo state . Guy, your people will starve to death without us. |
Udmaster:Yinmu. Be proud of your tribe you dis Igbo slave/drug-trafficker. I repeat that even your ijaw masters don't dare utter such foolishness. Oba Akinruntan's domain produces the Oil found in Ondo and your ijaw masters are mere subjects and residents there like every other Yorubaman that lives there. Your tales by moonlight fantasy only exists in your tomato brain. Using hard drugs would do that to anyone. ![]() |
Udmaster:Lol. Lagos is like New York of Africa, owned by Yorubas, situated in Yorubaland, governed/controlled by Yorubas, and land of opportunity for all Nigerians who are looking for prosperity. Yorubas are proud to be the hosts of your hungry kinsmen who see our land as a mini-London. People from all over Nigeria prefer our land just as they prefer London and NY to Aghanistan and SE Nigeria Your land is barren and cursed. And Osun workers are better off than Imo state workers in spite of all the Imo oil money so shove your advice morafocka fla.tty ![]() |
Udmaster:Stewpid Biafra goat, we are not talking about trading in fake imported tomato paste or drug-trafficking here so STFU coz you have no clue what you're talking about. Not even your ijaw masters would make such a ludicrous claim, but trust the Igbo slave to talk like he farts. You are a hopeless case. Go back to your shop. Onye oloshi. ![]() |

By the way, how does that add value to the common yoruba man.if an igbo man and yoruba man were to show up for employment, there are higher chances that an igbo man will be chosen for the job....it happened in the 60s, and it is still happening now go and ask ur fada
, now I know I have been replying a mumu..
