Babies are ignorant about their surrounding as they tend to put whatever they see into their mouth. Babies have died as a result of this singular act. Too many times adults have fed themselves with the wrong teachings and doctrines. They left the fundamental of the truths of the doctrine of the Word Of God and went off on something that doesn’t amount to a hill of beans.
Some teachings are poisonous. Some doesn’t make a difference how you believe on them, they are simply not essential to salvation experience and it won’t make any difference whether you believe it or not.
But too many Christian will feed on whatever except the truth, and then they lead disciples off. Months ago, I had the chance to visit a clergy’s personal library. It’s the biggest personal library I had seen with books lining from ceiling to the bottom floor of the shelf. He had masters in theology and he’s a well learned man. As a book worm, I settle to read through the ones I could lay my hands on. I requested to stay back in his house for like weeks to have a taste of those books. I could sit with the man late into the night to read and probably discuss most contents of what I had read from those books that seems religious with a lot of bible text embedded in between. I was amazed that there are a lot of heresies written by so many men of God and no one seems to challenge them because they have the name and the seeming anointing.
I realized so many religious books were written with mentality of the writer with no leading from the Spirit of God. The readers’ just digest in whatever message that is being passed without even putting it into subjection.
As I converse with the clergyman for every night in 3 weeks, he said ‘he wished he never come across some of those books as they are poison.’ Some writers are more interested in fables, unruly and vain talkers, subvert of truth, teach things that aught not (Titus 1:11).
One of those nights, I made a description of how we reduce the rats’ population in our house. We mix the poison with fine mix of food be it meat or fish, they just need to be the finest for the rats to come closer. If the poison is mix with rotten or spoilt food, the rat won’t even have a sniff.
What am I saying then? I discovered that, the Bible quotes can be quoted in ‘half’ for what so ever heresy you want it to serve. People have sunk so deeply into the depth of poisonous doctrines that it has passed down to younger generation with feeble minds.
I had no choice than to scrutinize some books. Not every book truly builds up, some tear down and shamble you. Narrow is the ‘way’ said Jesus and broad is the one that leads to damnation. Anyone that seems to make the narrow way narrower or the broad way broader is not speaking the truth of the doctrine.
