This one even saw me in real life. I was out, just coming down from the bus when she walked up to me. So I told her my name, and she collected my number after I unsuccessfully tried to wade her off. I think she's a marketer. She had a list of other contacts she's gotten. My name's unisex, so while I will make a little excuse for her thinking I'm a man (assuming she's forgotten my face), I expected her 'business sense' or whatever should have told her to be neutral when it comes to addressing someone's gender. Or maybe I expected too much- it's Nigeria where most people do things anyhow.

If a potential customer sees it, he/she would clarify on the gender ascribed.

Sometimes, the FIeld service engineer (FSE) on site are guilty of diesel theft.

On another note, I wanted to mention you early today on that thread about the fresh Uniben female grad aged 22 years who lost her life. I'm sure you would have read that thread by now but if not, it's right below. A dude alleged in his post on that thread that she was a so-called "black bra" member based on the fact that she wore a black top in a picture, but he and some posters left the fact that a crime had been committed. Instead, they should have been talking about how to use DNA and finger prints forensic analysis to resolve the crime.

Benin is a place that requires folks to be smart and safety conscious. I admire the fact that you went through Uniben without a major issue of harassment though. You lawyer folks have to keep an eye on the murder case until the young lady's family gets justice.

Quite sad I'm resuming tomorrow, back to "Kind Regards", but then again, I'd be surrounded with my best work colleagues who make the workplace easier/bearable.

Oh yes, I saw that thread and to be honest, it is quite sad that some people can be small minded to label a young lady a "black bra" cult member simply because she was wearing a black outfit. This means that such person can also label me a member because I have tons of black clothes, no thanks to my profession.

Well, I do hope they get to the bottom of this and justice is served.

Loooooooool Benin is a place to have street credibility and also be conscious. I won't recommend the place for raising kids though. But I'd like to admit that I was "sheltered" with high walls, my parents didn't quite subscribe to I and my siblings mixing with the "street" kids but I was quite adventurous and learnt from them. There were cultists in my hood and because I had already established some sort of "friendship" with them, we weren't disturbed. One of them liked me, but the other one who looked at me like a child told him to dead his feelings for me, hence the "protection".

As for harassment? Well, I NEVER experienced cultist harassment all through my Uni days. Twas more of sexual harassment from lecturers and fellow students.

The Oba of Benin was right in correcting Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata in the palace and it was done amiably. I saw the video on this discussion forum yesterday and I didn't see why anyone would get riled over that correction because even though Olumide is from powerful aristocratic lineages from Benin and Usen (a town founded by Oranmiyan's older brother from Ile Ife (Ufe or Uhe), he is not a "son of the palace" as one of the long line of princes in the Benin kingdom. It was a slip of tongue or wrong choice of words. The Oba and Olumide ended on an amiable note. It wasn't a case of humiliation to discerning folks like me.

It was highly irresponsible for some bloggers, YouTubers, and some misguided supporters of the LP to twist what happened and begin to hurl insults.
