Last but not least, I suppose you're referring to wheat swallow made from whole wheat flour in your last paragraph. Whole wheat is actually made from wheat bran and germ combo.

Amala however isn't made from whole wheat flour. Just as I stated in the last post, Amala comes ONLY in 3 major swallow varieties among Yoruba folks namely:

1. Amala ogede is made from ELUBO OGEDE (unripe plantain flour) which is a shade of brown color.
2. Amala isu is made from ELUBO ISU (yam flour) which is brown in color.
3. Amala lafun is made from ELUBO LAFUN (cassava flour) which is white in color.

Yes, the greatest way. If I ever crave fried plantain, I have to eat it hot straight from the fire. Otherwise, it'd be soggy for me and I'd lose interest. I also microwave fried plantain when it's warm or cold.

Isn't the unripe plantain going to soak in oil while you're frying it? How do you manage to keep the vegetable oil out of the plantains?
I'm a sucker for fried plantains too, with especially the smell of fried plantains wafting through the kitchen.

The key is to eat in moderation though.

I use little oil when frying anything I eat, even frying unripe plantain. I use absorbent paper towel to drain excessive oil.

I'm not a fan of ripe plantain actually. Just once in a while I eat it. I prefer unripe plantain for chips cos it's crispy.

I like cake but eat in moderation. I don't have a sweet tooth. Except if you classify Cheeseballs and Caprisun there but it isn't that sweet though.

Nah. I cook spaghetti quite alright for my father (I dont even taste it) and he loves it. I hated spaghetti as a child. The first time my nanny prepared it, the spag was soggy and plain. Since then, it gives me PTSD. I tried tasting it in my adulthood, but I couldn't eat it.

No, I'm not. I come from a Bantu ethnic group around here, but Kiswahili is an official language in Tanzania, Kenya and some parts of DRC and Mozambique, so we all speak it.

Yes, even the Hausa Nation in Nigeria also adopted some Arabic words in their language.

For instance, "Alhamdulillah" is Arabic but people who don't know its origin will think it's a Hausa word.

I like Arabic language and a huge fan of it.

I lived in Abuja (Northern Nigeria) for a while and as such, the basic Hausa words/greetings, I understand.
