I was 19 in 2018 and one uncle in his late 30s was toasting me, he said he can wait for me. I told him, I didn't send him message. As he kuku said he's in his late 30s, I just knew it was a dead end.

Recently, a prospective client came to meet me to help him recover money from these unscrupulous travel agencies who "scammed" him of his money. He contacted them to help him apply for schools abroad, signed a bad agreement with them too. They didn't fulfil any obligations for over a year until he came to me for advice.

Whatever happened to advising their client?

Even if they want to make money, advise their client before collecting brief. Because it sounds like the lawyers insist on money upfront, then tell the client a partial truth and let them find out the hard way.

Well, there are varying factors for these cases.

1. Some lawyers are primarily after the bag. They really don't care.

2. You advice your clients most times and they don't heed to your counsel but insist on whatever is on their mind. And you know the saying "He who pays the piper dictates the tune". It applies here.
