Marriott is a world class hotel and they try to maintain the same standard across the board. Plenty of risk of escalation to oyibo ogas at the top. It is hotels like Sheraton and Radisson Blu I would be paranoid about.

See ehn, you can see all these faults because you're a technical person, I am not. My own na to do my official assignment, use hotel facilities, eat and sleep.

I guess you're right though, when I saw that post, I'm now questioning myself if even Marriott staff also don't prioritize hygiene. Pheww!

i suspect you typically use high end hotels - but some paranoia is required. have all these in your travelling bag. you will have to do your own mental assessment of the hotel. especially if you are in the field proper. once you are outside lagos, abuja, kaduna or PH you will just have to manage whatever hotel you find.

I guess I have to do all these then. Omooooo x1million.

I've used some nice hotels in states outside these regions and twasnt bad actually.

I carry my toilet essentials but I'm really surprised about the towels and bedsheets.

I've worked as a housekeeper in a hotel if you know what we use the towels to clean you won't use them if you lodge 😌. We use to give people water from the pool to bath and we use to give used towel to another guest if you disturb us too much.

This is crazy. No wonder my friend used to travel with her towels, bedsheets and toilet essentials.

Lol. It is possible. There are lot of queer people in Nigeria, including the ones that are open about their sexuality and the closeted ones.

Also, I think there's a misconception about being a transgender. The term is actually encompassing, it includes cross dressers, drag queens etc. It is not all transgender folks that pursue medical or hormone treatments/procedures or surgeries etc to match their current gender identity.

They also do not identify with the original sex registered for them at birth as opposed to being a cisgender (those who identify with the sex registered for them at birth).

I've attended some queer parties and mehn, they indeed have a community.
