She likes cooking, she has a toy cooking pot set. She also likes playing game on her tablet more than carton, just like her brother. And she likes mimicking doctors as in trying to treat teddies or anything she assumes as human beings, she will be talking to the stuff that she wants to give it injection so it can feel fine and go eat chocolate lol. She have told the whole house that she wants to become a doctor and she has the full outfit and accessories for that, same with her brother but that one will always tell her that she cannot be a Doctor like him, that she will be Nurse while he will be the Doctor lol.


I will start sex education if I am able to summon the courage by the time she is 9/10 not now, and career education and skill development from 9/10 though she has repeatedly said she wants to be a Doctor and treat sick people lol

Oh! I didn't know your daughter is 3, and turning 4. You are right, she is too young for career talk, there's still time.

However, I'm pleading with you on sex education. It is not too early to teach her about this. Kids are smarter than we think, They learn very fast. The world is also a scary place these days and we need to protect our girls.

My fellow colleague was gisting me that he had to turn down a brief recently and it entailed him representing a man who had raped a 10yr old child. Actually, the child was gàng-raped here in Benin.

About summoning courage to teach her about sex education, I'd say where you cannot do it,your wife can step in. A simple "Don't allow anybody touch you anyhow" would suffice and for her to know the difference between a good and bad touch.

I use railway most times and I have to travel down to Agbor/Warri to use the train station going to Kogi State. When the train gets to Ajaokuta/Itakpe, Abuja is just 3hrs away.

Her hair is cut same way as her brother. Even at her tender age, I discuss with her and tell her things about life and she asks me questions, curious questions which I always answer with joy. With God's help, I know my girl will grow up a wonderful woman that will not fall victim of this cruel world that many ladies failed to realize on time thinking as pretty ladies they are, they will get away with everything in life until age hit them hard and reality befall them.

I think you've really got it all wrong here.

As a proud Daddy's girl, it is better you keep telling your darling daughter that she's pretty, beautiful and all that from a tender age, so that she doesn't get impressed by nonsense/sweet talks from men. That way, she's already used to her family love and also her self worth that she's loved at home. It also boosts self-confidence. There are lot of kids/people suffering from low self esteem issues and it is not healthy.

About the cutting of hair? I mean, whatever rocks your boat. There are parents who don't allow their female kids make their hair till secondary school to allow them focus, again I don't have a problem with that. Afterall, I started making my hair as from SS1 or so.

It is good you're talking to your kid early enough about life in general and she's shown keen interest by asking questions and you responding, I genuinely applaud that.

However, I'd like to include/suggest you teach her more about sex education, career choices/prospects, financial independence, development of soft skills etc and she will turn out fine and not be entitled or whatever.
