Yes, gone round to major cities save Abeokuta. Dapo has done better than Amosun with just 3½ years.

Are you insinuating that chief Gani Fawehinmi was daft for questioning the authenticity of Tinubu's certificate? He not only questioned the certificate but sued Tinubu and INEC up till the supreme court. The supreme court did not even rule on the merit of the suit but referred the case to the National Assembly, which of course exonerated their benefactor (Tinubu). Till today, Tinubu's refuses to answer questioned raised by Gani Fawehinmi concerning his certificate.

Even current Tinubu mouth piece and avid defender sued Tinubu up till the supreme court and still yet failed to get an answer.
Gani wasted his money and time because at the end he was exonerated.

Don't bring trash to our sensibility. I will say it again, the people of Ogun State are angry with Dapo including civil servants and pensioners. As I said earlier, let him maintain decorum till he wins Feb election which is certain due to lack of opposition.

If he dares push this statements over and over, trust me, he would bury his political career himself. Mark my words.

Ogun State is blessed with companies around Ota axis. Yes, its FG road but if he came prepared, that should have been the first road to construct which would generate enough funds. Remember, that was the axis that gave him the seat. He became lackadaisical till last minute and you tak about COVID. Is Ogun the only State affected by COVID-19?

Let him enjoy his second term in peace and we hope same government will not be posed on us again on Ogun.
People of Ogun state!? Can you please speak for yourself?

Dapo Abiodun before embarking on major roads construction in each local government, requested the obas to identify and determine the most important road for construction in their locality which they did and he completed them.

Dapo Abiodun constructed roads.

He brought SAPZ worth $800m dollars to Ogun state.

Many companies have sprang up along sagamu interchange to Iperu toll gate.

He has almost finished the construction of Agro Cargo airport in Ogun state.

Brought 400,000 liters refinery worth 3b naira to the same Egbado area.

Dry port almost completed in Kajola.

This is a matter of verifiable evidence.
Abiodun's road infrastructural development pale in comparison to Amosun's across all the senatorial districts in Ogun state.
The capital city Abeokuta can fairly compare favorably well among all state capitals across the country now largely because of Amosun's effort.
Mr. Abiodun should stop blowing smoke into the eyes of innocent folks
Because he focused infrastructural development in other cities, he pale in comparison to Amosun who concentrated infrastructural development in Abeokuta his clan area.

Perspective is very important in this life. That's why someone can argue in his favour, choosing a perspective that fits self.

You constructed 400 km.

Amosu constructed 357.11km roads, plus 15 flyovers, and rehabilitated another 3,125 roads.

So when you compare 357.11km with his 400km, he would find a sense of fulfilment.

Amosu even left about 10 extra flyovers (about four in Ifo local government) uncompleted, but Eleyi has not deemed it fit to complete them.

Amosu is not a saint though. He is probably the reason Eleyi has been unable to deliver much. Debt and looting here and there... Too many billions were spent on white elephant projects and EFCC is acting unbothered, waiting for Buhari's instruction.

https://dailytrust.com/357km-road-15-flyovers-completed-in-ogun-amosun/
Can you list the white elephant's projects?

Amosun used 8 uninterrupted years to do that while he used 3½ interrupted years due to Covic 19 to accomplish alll these. Let us compare after he finishes his second year.

I think we can still do with some quality FB players in our squad. But what you've just put up there doesn't invalidate zuchy's point. Ok let's compare some of the fb players you mentioned in your post to some of our current homegrown players.

Is Dessers better than osimhen, onuachu, moffi or even olayinka??
Has Aribo been able to outperform someone like Etebo or even a Ramon Azeez in the NT??
we all know chukwueze and simon aren't consistent performers, but has lookman been any better (albeit, during his shot stint with the NT.)
Mediocre is totally different from being average.

The question is, are these aforementioned players mediocre, average or above average?

I don't know if Bassey that made Europa team of the season and still secured a move to Ajax is mediocre according to you. Yes! Bassey is not yet there but he is progressing just like those aforementioned players progressed during their young career.

Is Dresser who won Eredivisie top goalscorers, Europe conference top goalscorer and made Europe conference team also mediocre to you? grin

If not for his age, I don't think he will be in that team.

Is Aribo also mediocre who was arguably part of Rangers success to finals of Eùropa? grin

some mediocre players are playing in Europe today because they were born in Europe or they grew in Europe. Some good players in Africa age, place of birth and nationality factors made them not to play in Europe or big leagues in Europe. Some of our best are in the trenches.
Europe is different from Europe.

Mediocre players can be found mostly in eastern Europe and in second divisions. That's why despite many being born and grew up in Europe, they are still playing in obscure leagues.

However, can you please mention the mediocre player born in Europe in our team? I want to check something. cheesy

THE DEFEAT TO PORTUGAL WHAT WENT WRONG?

It has never been about what went wrong, but what keeps going wrong.

"You can't keep repeating a particular routine expecting different outcomes"

Every tactical setup, requires the right personnel for application.
A 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 or any other tactical setup and the attendant variations of them, require playing personnel with the right technical and tactical qualities to thrive.
Wingers required to prosecute 4-4-2 have qualities that are quite different from wingers for 4-3-3.

In the former (4-4-2 ) the wingers are directly exposed and in sync with their fullbacks.

They are to do the following:
* Provide cover for their fullbacks. this involves additional defensive abilities.
* Provide support for the forwards.
* The ability to score goals is not primary to what is expected of them.
* They must possess decent ball passing abilities such as the ability to give long balls, crosses, chipped passes.
* They make decisions typical to their roles. for instance, shooting at goal is not usually the first option for a winger in this setup, rather the winger utilises feasible options to make the ball available to the forwards.

In 4-3-3, the winger in this setup is referred to as a forwards or striker. The involvement with their fullback is more diminished because of the presence of a midfield trio, ipso facto They are expected to have more offensive duties than defensive.

The following is expected of them:
* Score goals. This is primary to their roles.
* Assist the Center Forward in many ways ( to be discussed later).
* There is more flexibility to the manner at which the winger contributes to defense. This is essentially a coach's preference or tactical approach. Nevertheless on the average they spend more time in the opposition's half.

In Super Eagles. judging from the descriptions given of wingers in 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 , it is very obvious that we are deploying the wrong personnel in the chosen tactical arrangement. For instance Moses Simon and Ademola Lookman are forwards (strikers) and do not have the required defensive capabilities and passing finesse to thrive as wingers in 4-4-2. They are modern forwards groomed to thrive in a front three. They lack the ability for build up play and ball progression. That is the job of midfielders. That is the job done for them at their clubs. They are usually at the receiving end.

If we must stick to 4-4-2, We will have to go for players who will not only provide good defensive cover, but also decent ball passing ability, players groomed for build up play, and patient on the ball.
Moses doesn't have the required defensive capabilities....what? shocked shocked

Most of the players were misplacing passes. Iwobi was the culprit in the first half.

Onyeka was a better performer today than Aribo. No caps.

Infact I am almost tempted to say he even did better than Ndidi. But that can be debated.

His passing was decent although most of them in the defensive half and were back/sideway passes but he lost all his duels and that wasn't pleasing at all.

In all, he was calmer in the middle and he made more passes into the final third than Ndidi and Aribo combined all game. Shocking!

Onyeka is surely one of the midfielders I consider as an option when talking midfield options for the Super Eagles but not as a starter.
Ndidi was the reason we played woefully in the first half. He is not the Ndidi I know.

Today, Onyeka out performed him.

Iwobi and Aribo swapped places in the middle constantly in that first half.

They both alternately led the press alongside Moffi. Take note.
Iwobi played deep while Aribo was upfront pressing at the same time supporting the striker.

When he was not getting enough ball he drifted deep into our half and tried to initiate attacks. That led to that 1 2 you pointed out in your post.

This is largely Pasero's tactics and not about having a 3 midfielders. Tactically speaking, 2 played upfront leaving two in the middle.

Did you see how Portugal we're playing triangular football in midfield huh That's due to midfielders they have and the at least 2 of their forward players or strikers dropping deep to help the midfield..
Oga! This is not set or monkey post. It's a game of tactics and the Portuguese played to it.

We just assembled players and instructed them go out on the field to play without a plan.

The coach doesn't have a good game plan and from what I noticed, he is soak the pressure and hit on counter attack kind of coach.

Super Eagles First Half Stats:

Iwobi is the only midfielder who has created a chance in this game. The one he sent into Aribo's path after Aribo's bursting run and 1-2 with Iwobi.

Ndidi has not registered even a pass into the final third.

Aribo has registered just one pass into the final third and ZERO CHANCES CREATED.

Of the 3 midfielders, Iwobi has made the most passes (20).
Aribo has 12 and Ndidi, 12.

Aribo and Iwobi have both taken turns to high press the Portuguese backline alongside Moffi. That is one point to note as we are obviously playing with a front two and defending with a back 5.

Ladies and Gentlemen, behold the Best Midfield 3 you all wanted to field.

It is well.
We played with two midfielders. Two upfront. Take note.

Troost and Simon not good enough for this level.

For this game, remove Simon, put Chuks or Dennis in and move Lookman to the left.

Instructions should be route 1 Iwobi with Aribo and Moffi making runs in behind.

Portugal looking surprisingly vulnerable, we are just too fearful. Instructions should be to press high and hold the ball.

Long term we need two good centerbacks, both Troost and Akpoguma are not good enough. Simon should not be starting big games for the Eagles. Seems he is only good against non-technical African teams like Sudan, Sao Tome and Guinea-Bissau.
