Do well like TheSuperNerd to block me off your conversations such bias individuals like you don't deserve my attention. See this one. What is objective about your personal opinion? You place yourself high above your value. Come down. Nobody is objective in psychology. Now, you claim Osimhen is indispensable. What about if he has injury or lose form or on suspension? That's called extraneous variables that can alter your "objective" opinion. My friend, Nobody is indispensable due to factors in football. Maybe you are a newbie to this industry. Welcome. |

I watched the Benin match again but I no see the otuniness wey dem talk about Olusegun.
Of course, I am not clamoring for him ooo. Though I noticed he he won the Russian league with his team last season to get the attention but I don't know his contribution. I will find out myself because I don't believe some people here.
Moreover, when Iwobi moved into the attacking midfield after Onye entered, he was poor.
His ball control and passes were atrocious.
We need a better AMF with good ball control and an eye for tailored passes. |

Ihenzy: To be honest anyone canvassing for Awoniyi is just playing double standard. Cos there is no difference between him, Onauchu, Sadiq, Simmy, Victor Boniface.
Even Moffi is more reliable than him How can you claim Moffi is more reliable than Awoniyi with 4 goals in 799 minutes after 19 matches? Awoniyi on the other hand played 426 minutes and had 2 goals in 10 matches. Do that stats look like Moffi is more reliable than Awoniyi? You are also wrong about Awoniyi being on the same level with Boniface andOnuachu Boniface with 655 minutes in 13 caps score only 1 goal. How does that look same? Onuachu own worst pass. Only 3 goals in 25 matches with 797 minutes. How are they the same? Simmy didn't get more chances though.

TheSuperNerd: Awoniyi started 4 of his first 7 NT Caps.
He ended up starting 50% of his NT caps. 5 out of 10.
Awo got his chances. Especially at a full tournament... Afcon 2021. So you are trying to rewrite history as if he was not given chances. Osimhen played 214 minutes without scoring a single goal. It took him 215 minutes to score his first goal in his 7th match. Awoniyi played 161 minutes without scoring a goal. He eventually scored in his 162 minutes in his 3rd game. Osimhen had only 1 goal after 388 minutes. He scored his 2nd goal for SE after playing 389 minutes via penalty. This happened to be his 9th caps for SE. However, Awoniyi had 1 goal after 336 minutes but scored his 2nd goal after 337 minutes which was his 7th game for SE. Who had more chances to blossom? |

chrisooblog: Awoniyi hate!? Forgiveness you don start again.
Taiwo is a player who I admire for his faith, humility and doggedness but my bias for him shouldn't cloud my reasoning about how he has performed for the national team.
Awoniyi has 10 caps more than enough to show what he's capable of and every fair supporter will say he has been average so far with the SE.
So using Osimhen as a cover to excuse Taiwo's average performances so far for the national team will not fly. Other forwards don't have stellar numbers and have been criticized why should Awoniyi be excused.
Victor has been performing let Awoniyi up his game so that everyone will hail him instead of using agenda and shalaye to cover for him. Is it a lie Osimhen scored his first goal after 6 caps? Awoniyi scored after 3 cap. Is it a lie Osimhen scored 2 goals after 9 caps while Awoniyi scored 2 goals after 10 caps? Na lie? |

7th cap came vs Brazil. He started. His 3rd NT start.
He scored again on his 8th cap vs Benin in an Afcon Qualifiers. His 4th NT start.
His 9th Cap was his 5th NT start and he bagged 2 goals and 2 assists. I say facts. You should know me by now. He took his chance after 7 games. No complain. Just love. Person wey get invited even when e no do shingbin for club.

chrisooblog: Awoniyi has 10 caps more than enough to show what he's about however I don't think his problem has been opportunity but injuries.
Nigeria is currently blessed with so many forwards that when Awoniyi is missing due to injury other forwards come in.
The competition for places in the striking department for anyone not named Osimhen is pretty intense that if you don't shine immediately you will lose your place. Guys like Sadiq, Onuachu, Moffi, Dessers, Tolu have struggled for game time in the SE with varying levels of effectiveness when they play.
The bottom line is no matter your status as a forward in club football if you don't make an instant impact with the national team you will be dropped for another option.
Don't forget that Awoniyi was part of the line up that failed to score against Lesotho including Boniface who is the only one you can argue was given very long rope. Osimhen played 6 games without scoring a goal. He managed to score 2 goals in his 9th caps before he picked up. We should stop using double standards here. We should have said the 9 caps were enough for him to prove himself. While Osimhen received love and positive impulse. Awoniyi received hate and bad impulse. This matters alot because it shapes behaviors in a positive or negative reaction. The same thing Boniface will receive if he is called tomorrow. Yes love. |

chrisooblog: Loss of form and injuries.
Taiwo just never quite grabbed his opportunity when he was chosen to start.
In 2021 he was our main striker at the AFCON yet he didn't make an impact. Hasn't scored much in other matches.
Seriously one of the forwards has to step up to ease the burden on Osimhen.
Even during Yekini's time Amokachi, Siasia, Amuneke helped out with crucial goals. We should not forget Osimhen struggled to score in the first 5 matches he played but was still given chances upon chances before he picked up. How many goals did he score in AFCON? charlesemeka85: very tactical and only folks that understands the game will notice this
Chelle’s tactics worked perfectly well as he hoped, also that early goal was a big morale boaster Chelle focused on exposing Benin’s highline with through long balls and cross into the box from the wing and it paid. Once they are without the ball, they defended deep into their half. When I saw the way they started playing, I said this coach no press today ooo. I just felt at ease. |

Just stating what I saw... Today's movement was more fluid with no one hugging the ball down, moving to the left and delays passes
Everyone has their own style of play doesn't necessarily means they play badly The bolded explanation proofs today's game plan has nothing to do with the players. Why single out Lookman? Na Lookman bi coach we dey do press? Today, they allowed Benin to play while they countered and played long balls. Today's game is tactical not about hugging ball or not. |
