TheGoodJoe: Chuks is not in the question because he brought fluidity. With Iwobi on one side and Chukwueze on the other, most of the breaking down of the tight defence fell on Chukwueze. With Musa coming in, the direction of the defence spread out. Play two direct players. I prefer Onyekuru because he has better on the ball skills. You don't seem to understand what you are saying. Musa is far better than Onyekuru in GWG. |

TheGoodJoe: Taiye Taiwo looked a little bit mechanical for me. Played with lots of power and directness.
What we saw yesterday from Aina was a mixture of tactical knowledge, effortless skills, easy running up and down the flanks and utilisation of the midfield as a platform to make his runs. Very similar to Babayaro and Taiwo did not play in such manner. Meaning you didn't watch Taiwo at Marseille. |

Jarus: Apart from shooting (and free kicks), what did Taiwo do better than Cele? You don't seems to follow him if you think his game is all about freekick. List Celestine's attributes |

TheGoodJoe: Special praise goes to Ola Aina. He was just too comfortable in his role and made it look too easy. Hardly left gaps in his play and combined well with Omeruo (Young General) in his defensive duties.
I have not seen such comfort at the LB role since Celestine Babayaro and can not wait to see how Ola Aina performs on the right where he can give deadly crosses. How can you say you have not seen when Taiwo Taye was miles better than Celestine Babayaro? |

Jarus: Yes, I think Musa and Chukwueze could do what Moses did in 2013 in this 2019 team. We saw that today. But it seems there are many game changers in this team. |

Jarus: That was how we started SA 2013.
Played draw with Burkina Faso and Zambia and it took 2 penalties to win Ethiopia in the final game.
We went on to win the competition.
This team has some similarities with 2013 team - a lot of hungry young players who are Nations' Cup first timers like the 2013 set. I think this team also has a deeper bench than 2013 team.
If we don't meet a team like Senegal before semis, I think the team will go far. Victor Moses was the game changer. |

AIG07: Cc: Forgiveness
The gulf in gap is too much.
Nice try SFs
How I wish we can have a road map to achieving success at the World stage. You mean those two lucky goals? I didn't see any gulf in the match except for some dirty tactics the Germans used to win the game. Don't forget that 4 of our best players were not in that match and the injury during the match didn't help. |
