Wetin abeg. angry. Na him Papa get National Team?

He did not measure up to the standards and so was dropped. The boy is still very young and can still feature with the next U17.

Once again Kudos to Manu Garba for selecting based on merit and not sentiments. His decision is final on his choice of players.
The same way you people said Rohr list to the world cup was final. List full of impotent strikes and unreliable mildfielders. Continue.

There were 12 new players from the players that won the WAFU cup. More than half of the boys that won the WAFu cup are gone. It shows that the coach was looking for new blood.

Sunday Stephen,
Shedrack Tanko,
Ogaga Oduko,
Mayowa David Abayomi,
Wisdom Ubani,
Adrian Akande,
Mubaraq Gata Adeshina,
Shuaib Abdulrazaq,
Charles Etim
Suleman Shaibu
Divine Nwachukwu,
Fawaz Abdullahi
Most were gone due to the inability to pass MRI test. Tell me something else.

Whether or not Manu saw that tournament, I don't know.. But I know for sure that Lateef was one of the best player in that u-15 set so it was only fair to give him a chance...

But like Icon4s said,If he wasn't called up,you would still cry foul...
The point remains that Manu has his own boys. EOS

Now I'm beginning to suspect that u don't know much about the matter before u jumped in....

Lateef has been with the u-15 team since last year.. He participated in a tournament in Morocco(or was it Algeria?) where we came second self.. Obviously, his performance with the u-15 earned him a call up to the u-17... I believe a few boys from the u-15 were invited to train with the u-17 too...

Take a look at this pic... that's Lateef with Suleiman Lawal at the u-15 camp last year.. Those who have seen Suleiman clips will attest to how good he is I daresay he is better than Lateef..both boys are still eligible for the next u-17 set... I haven't seen Suleiman crying anywhere for not making the list, but u want us to be sad for Lateef?
Manu saw the U-15 tournament so he should have known Lafeet wasn't good enough for his team. But why did you call someone you know is not good for the team?

We won't win it by stocking up our national team with foreign born players only... We select only the best! and in the case of Lateef,he wasn't better than the others he was comp writing with... He should man up and put in extra work...
Yes! We have won the world cup with only the best and we will win it again with them. Very good.

I repeat again, "soldier go,soldier come, barrack go remain"! Nigeria has the largest population in Africa.. There's football talent scattered everywhere! we shouldn't deprive some people of the chance to represent just because somebody is foreign born! .all players should be given a level playing field..

Lateef is 15 he is still eligible for the next u-17 and in fact he might even still make the works cup list if we qualify,so what the hell is he crying for? Maybe he was under the delusion that he would be given an automatic shirt cus he is foreign born...

The Manu Garba we know is fair in his player selection and can identify a talent when he see one,so I refuse to believe that there was a conspiracy against the boy...

We should relax on this obsession for foreign born players! it won't do us any good in the long run.
Okay! We will win the world cup with the population. No problem.

Congrats to the English U-17 team winning the World Cup. We have won it multiple times, not ones and recently produced some delightful talents.

However, the USA team is not the English side.
Yet we never beat them at the senior level. Tell me another thing.

Besides, English team has achieved more than Nigeria at all levels in football. So be humble. English are not our mate.

So they should drop those who did better than him?

My understanding was that he was poor. Misplacing passes, did not have the strength to compete with the other boys, lost possession under pressure.etc.
Why call him when you know you have better players?

Look at this team some people here mocked me for because of my judgement about their pedigree then when Peter Olayinka joined but here we are today seeing a team dominate Chelsea and even kicked current Europa champion out of the tournament.

Is Bordeaux better than this Slavia Prague team from Czech?

Nope, he trained with the team before they went for their Turkish tour and was invited to join training camp after.

I heard from reliable sources that Lateef was not performing well in training, well before the final list was released.
Exactly my point. If they really wanted to see his ability and take him to the competition, they should have taken him on tour to Turkey but they just used him as training material when they never had plan for him.

I don't think it was about performance.

So you think the American U17 is stronger than ours. Lateef will surely make the cut in the American team because it is a weaker side.
We heard the same thing. The English U -20 team is weaker side but they won the trophy. The English U-17 team is weaker but they won the world cup trophy. The English national is weaker side but went ahead of Nigeria's 'stronger' team to finish fourth place.

Nigerians are just too arrogant but empty. I am sorry to say this.

All foreign born players coming into the national team should bear it in mind that they won't be treated specially cus they are FB... There are several hundreds of FB out there that can still play for Nigeria abeg... Manu Garba that we know won't have dropped Lateef if he was good enough! Was it not Manu that took a small Abdul Alfa to UAE 2013?

if Lateef wants to switch allegiance now,no problem... Soldier go, soldier come, barrack go remain!!
This nonchalant attitude of, I don't care will not lead us to anywhere. We will be keep being brain drained if we don't try hard to do everything in our capacity to retain and attract our best brains home and abroad.

Even if he doesn't make the cut there is a way you can still pass the message to make him realise he is still needed and you care.

All these soldier go soldier come barrack remain has not done us any good until now. You are only breading mediocres.

Oga all this write up because of Lateef Omidiji. The boy simply did not measure up and was dropped. Period.

Kudos to Manu for selecting based on merit and not sentiments.
I heard he didn't train with the team from the onset. If true, this is enough to believe there was a premeditated plan to drop him even before kicking a ball.

Perhaps, he trained with the team and he saw he is better than some players taken ahead of him due to the Nigerian factor he witnessed with his two eyes in the camp.

If he's not good enough, I don't think America will want him in their team.

The guy is a Boer. grin Unfortunately the stupid blacks are arselicking him.
Little did they know that without pressure mounted on the West by the other African countries including sports stars and celebrities, the South Africans' plight would not have moved the West. I remember the Obasanjo government nationalising American and British oil companies in Nigeria as far back as the 70s because of their support for apartheid. Esso became National Oil and British Petroleum became African Petroleum.
No wonder the dey guy dey twist history but he must learn by force even the ignorant ones among the South Africans. grin

I remembered Obasanjo singlehandedly made all African countries to return home in the 1973 Olympic games because Canada Government allowed New Zealand to participate in the games. That action sent signal to the Western world that Africans meant business. And this eventually led to the Gleneagle agreement that discouraged any close contact or competition with South Africa. grin

Some South Africans are just too ignorant. grin

Without the support of African countries, your leader would have died, buried and forgotten yet nothing go happen. You would have remained a slave in South Africa perpetually.

Just remember Mandela was cagged like a helpless bird for years. He could have died and nothing go happen. That tells you how helpless you were in your struggles without external forces. The African factors. grin
