Ex-Man City & England U17 Sensation In Line To Face Eagles; Libya Open Camp Next Week Published: September 28, 2018 Ex-Man City & England U17 Sensation In Line To Face Eagles; Libya Open Camp Next Week The Libyan National Team will begin training next week ahead of their crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with the Super Eagles. Libyan newspaper, Al Wasat earlier reported that Adel Amrouche is not in a hurry to announce the provisional roster, from which the final list will be selected, for the games against Nigeria, but he has noted that four or five new players will be called up. New York City winger Ismael Tajouri-Shradi, Desportivo Aves's Hamdou Elhouni, Guimarães' Ali Al Musrat, Crotone's Ahmad Benali, Raja Casablanca defender Sanad Al Warfali, Orlando City SC's Mohamed El-Munir and Muaid Ellafi (Shabab) were among the foreign based professionals called up for the match day two fixture against South Africa. The talented Ahmad Benali captained Manchester City youth team in the past and had played for England U17 national team before switching his allegiance to the North African country. If the Super Eagles 1-0 win over Libya in the 2018 African Nations Championship is not included, Nigeria and Libya have never met in a competitive game but have played two friendlies. At the 2004 LG friendly international tournament held in Tripoli, the Libyans defeated Nigeria 2-1 with Nader Kara scoring the goals and a year later the Super Eagles beat the Mediterranean Knights 1-0 in a friendly in which John Obi Mikel made his international debut. Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr is expected to call up several foreign-based professionals for the AFCON qualifier against Libya, meaning the earliest date they can resume training is October 8. Chelsea Loanee Omeruo Finally Returns To Leganes After 10 Days Authorized Absence Published: September 28, 2018 Chelsea Loanee Omeruo Finally Returns To Leganes After 10 Days Authorized Absence Kenneth Omeruo has finally returned to Spain ahead of CD Leganes' La Liga fixture with Real Betis at the Estadio Benito Villamarín (Sevilla) on September 30. Spanish sports daily AS informs on its electronic edition that the Chelsea loanee was expected on Wednesday, but his connecting flight from Istanbul was canceled and only arrived yesterday afternoon. Omeruo traveled to Nigeria to obtain a work visa and residence permit; both documents are necessary after he signed for Leganes. Assuming there was no change in the itinerary, the central defender would have arrived in Spain around noon on Wednesday, however, the connecting flight between Istanbul and Madrid was canceled. Taking into account that he was away for ten days and will train with the Leganes squad for two days, Friday and Saturday, the Nigeria international is unlikely to make his long-awaited debut against Real Betis. The 24-year-old is among four fit players yet to play a competitive match for Leganes in the new season, the others being Lunin, Serantes and Mauro dos Santos. The Mauricio Pellegrino led side came from behind to shock champions Barcelona 2-1 in their last league game on Wednesday. Igho Kingsley https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=29426 |
Must-See Goal: Crotone's Libya Midfielder Fires Warning To Super Eagles After Netting Maradona-Like Goal Published: September 28, 2018 Must-See Goal: Crotone's Libya Midfielder Fires Warning To Super Eagles After Netting Maradona-Like Goal Crotone's Libya international Ahmad Benali has sent a warning to his country's next opponents in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Nigeria, after scoring a spectacular goal for Crotone in their 2-1 loss to Pescara on Tuesday. The former Manchester City youth-team skipper featured in the headlines in the Italian press after his 49th minute goal in the fifth round of matches in the Serie B. The Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport praised Benali for scoring against his former team, whom he represented for three years before joining Crotone in the 2017-2018 season, adding that such goals bring spectators to the stadiums. Benali's goal from near the center circle has been likened to a similar strike from one of the best-known footballers of all time, Argentina legend Diego Maradona, when he was playing for Argentina's youth team. While the central midfielder went the distance against Pescara, his Crotone teammate Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo was introduced as a substitute three minutes from time. https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=29429 |
Umar Sadiq issued brutal warning as Rangers boss Steven Gerrard slams star again The Ibrox striker has struggled for game time and Gerrard admits he has a lot of work to do. ByMark McDougall 14:14, 28 SEP 2018UPDATED16:28, 28 SEP 2018 Umar Sadiq helps promote Match Attax (Image: SNS) Get Rangers updates directly to your inbox Steven Gerrard has laid into Umar Sadiq again, warning him he needs to improve every part of his game if he is to get a chance at Rangers. The striker joined on loan from Roma in the summer but has played just 27 minutes of football, and Gerrard hasn't been impressed. He admitted Sadiq is highly unlikely to play in the Betfred Cup semi-final against Aberdeen, despite Alfredo Morelos being suspended and Kyle Lafferty cup-tied. It means the Rangers manager is likely to line up with either Glenn Middleton or Ryan Kent in the middle of a front three and now he's issued a further warning to Sadiq. Rangers boss Steven Gerrard left fuming after being pranked by Andrew Flintoff Gerrard warned the Nigerian he has to "come to the party" when he was quizzed about the striker on Wednesday. Now he has fired another warning. When asked about what Sadiq must improve to earn a place in the team, Gerrard said: "Everything. "Competition for places is very tough all over the pitch but he’s got a fight. "He's come in as a young boy, he's settled in well, everyone at Rangers has done everything they can and the fans have got behind him. But the reality is there's no secret to any position, you have to fight and show me and my staff that you're worth of game minutes. It can't just be given to you, not at a club like this so it's all up to Umar, the ball is in his court. "He has the chance and opportunity to impress all of us on a daily basis, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to work out that he's going to have to improve if he's to earn some game time. "It's a fantastic opportunity but just because he is one of the number nines available and two unavailable doesn't mean he's going to play or feature." Rangers will play first on semi-final Sunday against Aberdeen and Gerrard admitted he was "delighted" his side would be getting the first go at playing on the Hampden surface. He said: "It's a bit of a unique situation and unique circumstances because ourselves and Celtic are still going in Europe. Glenn Middleton urges Rangers boss Steven Gerrard to let him lead the line in Aberdeen semi-final "But in terms of having an opinion on it, or adding to anything that's been said, then no I've got nothing to say apart from we're really looking forward to our game, we're first on the pitch which is a bonus and we're in for a very tough test against a good Aberdeen team. It's a really exciting game for us and our fans. We can't wait for it. "We haven't got that problem (of playing second), we're first on the pitch so there's nothing to be said. That's a question you'd have to ask Craig Levein and Brendan Rodgers. I'm delighted we're first there." http://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/956358635?-21310:11479:3 |
andrew444:So, you mean he has played only 2 league games in his whole career? I am talking about him being played as an AMF consistently for the past 5 years in his football career. Now, you are asking if he started the last two games. Ask yourself out of how many games. The reason those wingers didn't get a look was because we had Vicmo, Ahmed and even one Belgium league player called Simon Moses. Where was Onyekuru playing before he got a call? So, the Portuguese second division league is better than the Belgium pro league in both your eyes and Rohr that he called players from there, na? He even called one player from one obscure league yet they get a look. Yet some people here dey complain about APC corruption and rigging election but dem blind for this one. I know why dey want APC out but I no wan throw bomb wey go scatter for here. ![]()

WritePal:Please, pray I tell me, if North and SW are on one side, who are the rest of the country? |
Good job. |
Danielnino00:Which Ighalo failed? You didn't see Iheanacho wey received award for best failure striker na Ighalo your eyes see. Simmy was played in his preferred CF position while Kayode was played out of his preferred position which was behind the the striker or on the wings. At least, Kayode gave an assist. So, tell me something I don't know. Besides, stop dat your big fat lies that Simmy played lesser minutes than Kayode because like i said it's a big fat lie. Simmy was given more time. Bhahahaha! You mean Simmy scored in that 9 against 11 inconsequential game!? common be serious for once. He was up against grandfafas. ![]() Are you comparing Championship with Seria B? Seriously! My friend, the difference is clear. 1st snapshot..... Simmy 2nd snapshot..... Kayode
|
Danielnino00:Simmy and co should get automatic shirt despite the fact that they failed woefully at the world cup because they were at the world cup. I see. They don't even need to score as long as they were in the team for long and based on last year glory but those who are eyeing a call should forget last year glory and score this season. Hmmm! I am smelling double standard. Why should Ighalo be dropped when a division 2 player is in the team? |
Danielnino00:How many goals did Simmy score this season before he was invited? You can only convert wingers to strike if you don't have a striker but we have. That's all. |
Abdul Ajagun starts in his usual AMF position. How many Nigerian players are being played consistently in that position in top ten leagues in Europe? |
BascoVanVeli:But some people dey pretend not to see and are telling us to convert wingers to strikers for best reason known to them. Imagine! Wingers wey never prove demselves strikers over established and confirmed strikers. Abass mbong! |
krattoss:Were you expecting PDP candidate to win? Smh Have you heard of that PDP's candidate manifesto? People just want APC out without thinking about what other candidates got to offer. Smh |
ChrisKels:So, transfermarkt is efulefu? Oga! He has been playing since 2016 in the Seria A. |
BascoVanVeli:All the best to Awoniyi. |
Icon4s:Wingbacks are natural CBs. |
ChrisKels:He has played 24 matches for Bologna in the Seria A and was largely played as a winger. I done follow the boy since he broke into Seria A two years ago. |
Danielnino00:It may be. This is Liverpool not anyhow club. So, it's understandable. However, if they don't want him this season, they're would have allowed him go on loan to Lyon or an EPL team but Liverpool rejected all offers. Let us see how things goes. |
enomakos:Granada didn't ruin him, they rather saved him by converting him to a winger after he could not deliver in the CF position. |
Danielnino00:That means he is just back. |
ChrisKels:What about the Athletico Madrid Ghanaian player? |
Danielnino00:Solanke is injured. |
andrew444:I wonder ooo. |
Truidstar:Ok na. |
Icon4s:Isaac Success didn't play as a striker at the U20 grade. It was Awoniyi that was the main striker throughout the competition while Isaac Success was played on the LW. Issac success never kicked one ball for Udinese then how did he strike for Udinese? Granada started playing Isaac Success as a striker in his first season with them but after 14 games he could only score one goal hence converted to Winger. Mind you, he played for 90 minitues in most cases.
|
andrew444:The Success I saw in the la Liga dey miss simple goals. I know know where dey see him as clinical. U17 things. |
Truidstar:Osimhen and Awoniyi are still far far behind Kayode, Ujah and Success who are yet to be given the chance in SE. |
ChrisKels:Of course, he was played in the CF position but he has been largely used on the wings and that is where he's more effective. |
BascoVanVeli:Really!? |
ChrisKels:Apart from Salah and Mane, Keita never reach 3rd. |
