EXCLUSIVE: Olanrewaju Kayode – It was tough at Girona because I wasn’t given a chance

By admin - March 4, 2018, 3:37 pm473 0

Striker Olanrewaju Kayode has exclusively revealed to SCORENigeria he was not given much of a chance at La Liga side Girona, but hopes to now prove his class at top Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk.

The full Interview:

SCORENIGERIA: Congratulations on your move to Shakhtar Donetsk?

KAYODE: Thank you brother.

How do you feel now about your latest transfer?

I am so excited and happy with the deal.

What are your targets with the club? shocked

I just wish to concentrate and do well with the club.

Former Nigeria international Julius Aghahowa played for Shakhtar Donetsk, what are they saying about him?

He did great things here and they love him. They are saying good things about him here and I am so encouraged to hear this.

Did they want you to replicate his performance for the club?

They have so much belief in me which I know and they make me understand that. I am looking forward to do my best to keep the good name of Nigeria here.

I will be glad if I could surpass what a great player Julius Aghahowa achieved here.

What’s your jersey number?

I have been assigned jersey number 88.

What really happened at Girona because a lot was expected after you joined them on loan from Manchester City?

I had a very bad experience at Girona. I was doing well in training, very fit and ready for matches, but I wasn’t given the opportunity. I have put that in the past now as I am focused on doing well here now.

What message do you have for your fans and the Shakhtar fans?

To Shakhtar Donetsk fans, I say thank you for having me. I am looking forward to playing in front of you and make you happy. I need your support here.

And to my fans, I say thank you for always been there and supporting me. I appreciate you all and will make you happier with my goals here in Ukraine.

I thank my wife Zinny Kayode for always been there for me. I appreciate your prayers and words of encouragement.

Thanks for your time.

It’s always a pleasure talking to you brother.

Firstly you believe what u want to believe.
Not everything u read is true. Do I believe there is corruption? Resounding yes, In many areas of human life not exclusively to Nigeria, there is corruption. But at the same time just because u see it in the biggest screen, some magazine or tabloid don’t make it factual.
Look at things from case to case, and be balanced in your judgement. Like I said before, you are a one way thinker.

Modified,
I could also find stories either refuting ur links or talking about how coaches now or before were given a free hand by the NFF.

But u seem to be making look like NFF has ALWAYS decides who is invited or not.

Believe what u want.
You are not making any sense. If your answer is yes then keep mute and save me from wasting time..

As for you, my impression is, you don't think at all.

Was ‘bad boy’ Kayode dropped by top NFF officials?

By admin - March 8, 2017, 11:29 am1180 0

Sources close to Olanrewaju Kayode have insisted the Austria-based striker was very much in the plans of Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr, but he was eventually dropped from the squad for this month’s friendlies in London because some top NFF officials branded him “a bad boy”.

“Kayode has maintained that he was called up by Rohr, but he was eventually dropped because some top officials said he will never play for Nigeria again because he ‘messed’ up one of their ogas some years ago,” said a source close to the former Nigeria U17 and U20 striker.

This was in reference to his transfer saga that involved former top NFF chief Taiwo Ogunjobi and Ivorian club ASEC Mimosas.

The 23-year-old Kayode has been linked with a move to the Premier League in England on the back of his form at Austria Wien.

This season, he has scored eight goals in 22 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga after he netted 13 goals in the last campaign.

This week, he told a radio station that were he chanced, he would demand answers from Rohr to why he has again been snubbed by the Super Eagles.

“If I had the opportunity to speak with Rohr, i will ask him to check my profile and also why I haven’t got an invitation,” he said in the interview.

The Austria Vienna striker also questioned scouting and yardsticks used to invite players to the Super Eagles

“I think the Super Eagles scouting needs to be extensive enough to consider players who are active in their clubs,” he urged.

“There is no way a player who sits on the bench can be fit enough or better than the one who plays regularly.”

Inappropriate sir. Don’t abuse the anonymity of the social media to post very offensive comments.

Not everyone should be invited to the national team. What if the managers or NFF scouts at the time didn’t like Otigba’s game? Must everyone of Nigeria descent who play in Europe be invited to the national team?

Deco waited for Brazil to give him a chance that he got frustrated. He had to wait for 8yeara or so to gain Portuguese citizenship to be able to play.

It’s laziness and lack of vision on the path of our Football czars to always focus and depend on nearly finished products with Naija blood overseas to build the Super Eagles.

Touring the world, looking for Nigerian talents who started the development in Europe is already having serious issues with our football. There is less emphasis on the local league and its development. Players know this and the moment they get a little recognition, they’d disappear from camp and find themselves in some obscure environment in Europe. Someone asked of Akinjide Idowu, can Moldova where he was last seen stand toe to toe with Eagles?

Serious development and management, commitment and regulation of our local football are an emergency.

The last set of talents to emerge for the Eagles were Iheanacho’s set. Before then it was the class of 2009 with Onazi and Omeruo.
We don’t know the fate of some of the boys who failed in the last Africa under 20 qualification same as the under 17 Who lost to Niger. Where is the follow up?

What would happen if the Ekongs, Baloguns, Ebuehis were overlooked?? If the absence of these players would spell doom for our football then I think it’s time to come back home and build our league. The various underaged tournaments shouldn’t be a hunting ground for greedy agents. Our football chiefs and men in authorities should be ashamed of donning the shirts and souvenirs of Barcelona, Mancity, Bayern and the Madrids.

Pls enough of this Otigba story. I admire his persistence and enthusiasm to play for Nigeria but some people make look like he automatically would’ve fitted into the S.E.
Nigerian is a Nigerian no matter where you were born or play. There should be no schizm.

Otigba was among the top 3 defenders we had as at that time. So, the scout could not have overlooked him.

A football agent, Henry Galliano, was on Monday evening assaulted by a Nigerian coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, at the Rockview Hotel, Owerri, the Imo State capital.

The assault, which happened at about 6:00 p.m. was caused by the decision of Golden Eaglets star, Kelechi Iheanacho, to choose Galliano as his agent ahead of one recommended by Amuneke.

4-2-3-1 won't work.
4-2-3-1 can change to 4-5-1 when defending and also match the 3-5-2 in the midfield. The 3-5-2 formation is meant for dominating the midfield and it can change to 5-3-1 when defending and 3-1-6 when attacking.

So, the 4-2-3-1 will help you contain their midfield and attack when it changes to 4-5-1.

As you can see, it will change to 4-3-3 when on the counter attack or 4-1-1-4.

It's very flexible.

Fast counter attack from the wings with fast and skillful wingers will force the team with 3-5-2 formation to concede goals or park the bus. And ones the wing backs are forced to stay back, you don't expect any attacking moves from them.

This will make dem redundant. 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 are good for such formation..

Kenneth Otigba Switches Allegiance Back To Hungary

Ferencvaros of Hungarys Nigerian Defender Kenneth Otigba has been named into the Hungarian Squad for upcoming friendly games with Manager Gorges Leekens confirming his switch of allegiance

Otigba was Born in Kaduna to a Nigerian dad and Hungarian mum making him eligible to play for both countries

The 25 year old defender has several times in the past openly voiced his desire to play for Nigeria despite playing for Hungary at youth level

Reports then suggested he was seriously being considered for the Super Eagles with coach Gernot Rohr said to be planning to visit Turkey to further asses the player

However the player was never invited and from all indications seems he has gotten tired of waiting on the Nigerian Authorities

Hungarian national manager Georges Leekens announced a 37 man provisional squad for games against Kazakhstan and Scotland with six players from Ferencvaros among which include Kenneth Otigba

Manager Georges Leekens is quoted as saying on Hungarian website valogatott :

“I think the biggest surprise in the list is Otigba Kenneth’s name”

“ I contacted him and we talked for a long time because I wanted to know if you would like to play in the Hungarian national team with the whole heart to help the national team.”

“As he replied yes, I invited him to the frame as well because I think I can benefit the team, but I also think of all the other players in the frame.”

Otigba is yet to comment publicly on the Invitation
http://www.soccerassembly.com/kenneth-otigba-switches-allegiance-back-hungary/
Na so dem talk say make the fb wait for dem time until dem grow grey hair finish.

For three good years, Nigeria never deem it fit to invite Otigba. Na wait for ya time be patient na em dem dey give am chop. Nonsense.

Honestly, this is very painful time but it's not too late to call him to the national team.

Nah, I have never been a big fan of Ideye. He misses way too many chances for any coach to prefer him ahead of players like Nacho, Iwobi, Simon, Musa, or Ighalo. And I have watched Kayode a few times in La Liga, frankly, I don't see what he could offer that the players we already have in camp can't offer.

I will declare Kayode a surplus to requirement at this time.

O pari
Who told you Ideye misses chances?

We are talking about having 3 CFs going to the world Cup and you are talking about Iheanacho, Simon and Musa.

These are not CFs. We need 3 center forwards with a difference.

You claimed you watched Kayode a few times and your own TV didn't show you he won MOTM.

I believe he didn't impress you in that particular match because your didn't see anything but those who get eyes saw what he did and gave him MOTM.

Oga, the national team is not the property of Iheanacho and Ighalo. If Kayode, Ideye and Martins performance goes unnoticed while Iheanacho and Ighalo feel cool without given their all in their various clubs then they deserves a call-up.

Yes i see some comparing Amuneke and Ajayi, have watched Ajayi this season, for now he can't cut it in eagles.

Eze,some say is another Oboboana, likely to give Omeruo threat?he can't cos he need to refine his game and not ready for this WC.

Gabriel,nothing to say.
..

Well, I think Eze, Gabriel and Ajayi will be waste of space and time if Rohr for em know say dey are not contenders.

Though, It could be abnormal for Rohr to have overlooked Ajayi due to the fact that he made CAF team of the year. Nevertheless, we know what's up.

Anyway, let us dance to Rohr's tune and watch how things go dey.
