Kog45: Mikel Agu?not convincing so far in Eagles GWG.
I think Rohr just have to do justice to the midfield cos for now we have three untouchable,MIKEL,NDIDI,ONAZI but Ogu had Algeria and Argentina match going for him irrespective of any midfielder form in his club.
.....now we are having Etebo back in a great form in LA liga and also a talented Joel Obi is back and also Mikel Agu which means the midfield is a war zone and only performance in eagles jersey would determines who is going to make it especially between Etebo,Ogu,Agu and Joel Obi. .. Agu is a DMF. He's not a CMF and he's not up against Etebor and Joel Obi who are attacker and CMF respectively. Rohr just needs to decide the components to form his midfield. He needs to decide on how many CMF, DMF and AMF he needs in his team and I think that will determine who goes or stays. Besides, I still don't see Etebor as a DMF or CMF because yesterday I didn't see any spectacular thing he did. He was just strolled when he was without the ball and ran vertically at players whenever he was with the ball. The boy is an attacker at best.... However, many match Agu don play for Eagles wey em no impress? |

Ruben is the number 1 and that was not indicated in the snapshot.
Uzoho is 4th choice but it is not because of that snapshot.
When Ruben was out, Uzoho was the team's third choice. At least, you have just confirmed he is number 4 and that's all. |

ChrisKels: Abeg stop misleading people, just because you don't have faith on Uzoho, shouldn't make u sale false news about him. Uzoho is Deportivo's third choice goalkeeper, he was at a point, the second choice (when Ruben was injured). When Costell Pantillimon wasn't pulling his weight, Uzoho rose to the rank of first choice for Derpor's first team until Pepe was sacked and he got demoted to third choice again with the arrival of Przemysla on loan. Maybe u didn't know Pantillimon's loan deal was terminated. Derpor's first three goal keepers are Przemysla, Ruben and Uzoho. With the fall of Ruben, Uzoho is now viewed as the second choice within the Derpor fraternity though Ruben retains the title.
Dele Ajiboye was never the first choice of Pandevedra CF when he left wikki for Spain. In fact, his European sojourn was a total fiasco.
Make we no dey lie here abeg . Yes, Francis-uzoho is the second choice goalkeeper but he always mistakenly finds himself in the third tier league on match day instead of making the bench as second choice goalkeeper always does. I think it is a new tradition in Football for second choice goalkeeper to find themselves in another league on match day but it only exist in your fantacy. Bravo. What position is Francis-uzoho in that snapshot? Oga, na you no dey talk true.

TheSuperNerd: Na just your question make me reply oooo Egbon.
What I mean is simple. Right now, Rohr seems to have his eyes fixed more on Uzoho and not Alampasu due to the former's active form for club this season (two LA liga games and lots of Division 3 games) and also his recent involvement and decent showing in the Argentina friendly. The only thing against Alampasu is that he is not as active as Uzoho at club level. Now that makes Uzoho ahead for now. I do not speak of talent but I speak of development of both goalies at The moment. I know Alampasu have played Cup games and even kept clean sheet against FC Porto in previous seasons but right now, Uzoho also got two topflight games in the world's best technically proficient league. On the national front, Uzoho has been tested for 45 mins in a game against Argentina while Alampasu was tested in game against Togo where he came on for Ezenwa and played 21 mins+ making a top drawer save too.
Uzoho seems ahead in Rohr's decisions map. I only based my deductions on his recent actions and Uzoho's recent rise but Alampasu remains a top prospect like Uzoho.
Alampasu came to the national team before Uzoho but right now, you have to admit that Uzoho seems to stand a better chance of making the Russia plane than Alampasu. Just for now.
In all, the friendlies will decide... because the goalies tested in these games will have no place to hide. It is make or mar. |

TheSuperNerd: Uhmmmm... What is going on here?
Abeg ooooo.... Make we no turn am to Alampasu vs Maduka biko....
See ehn... Me I rate Dele Alampasu very highly oooo... In fact, I still consider him slightly better than Uzoho in terms of "raw talent" but thing is, Uzoho seems to have overtaken him for now on the national front and even in club football (and he's developing at an fine rate) but Rohr still rates Alampasu too just as he rates Uzoho which is why he still talks about him in interviews when the GK issue is brought up. In the long run and for the long term benefits of the team, I forsee a huge healthy battle between Uzoho and Alampasu for the Super Eagles no 1 shirt. Both have the height too apart from their special talents. Throw in rising talents like Akpan David udoh, Nwokolor and a few others like Okoye and one or two unknowns and we may be in for a new rise of quality gks for this new generation.
On Maduka Okoye, he is the newest kid on the block... Yet to experience life in the GWG camp so he is behind Alampasu on that front but truly he is on Rohr's radar but certainly not as one to compete for the no.1 slot ahead of Russia. Mbanu naa.....Abeg... Let us not misunderstand one another here on this GK issue. Biko I am begging una....
For the future, the likes of Alampasu, Uzoho, Okoye, Nwokolor, Akpan David Udoh, etc will provide a fantastic pool of quality goalies with one or two among them hopefully becoming world class or near world class goalies....
But right now.... For this moment... We have the world cup in sight... And Rohr's mind is not made up yet but Akpeyi and Ezenwa are in the picture for now not forgetting Ajiboye. And from among the talented rookies we have Uzoho and Alampasu in the picture too. Rumors of Maduka Okoye still lingers.....
Anything about the goalies is with respect to Russia right now..... Plsss take note. This is why it seems Rohr will not stretch himself so much but concentrate on the chosen options like Akpeyi, Ezenwa and Uzoho.... With Alampasu and Ajiboye also in the picture.
In the official provisional list of 35 for Russia, Rohr is expected to name 5 goalies abi? (I no dey talk of list for march friendlies ooo)
So let us limit ourselves to the five Rohr has his mind on. It is from among these five Rohr will pick his final three GKs.
Who are these five?
- Daniel Akpeyi
- Ikechukwu Ezenwa
- Francis Uzoho
- Dele Ajiboye
- Dele Alampasu
Outsider is Maduka Okoye coz of the rumors which may he true... EOD.
Let us not turn it into GK A vs Gk B battle... We just want the best 3 for now from among them for the sake of the world cup. Thank you You have just said it the way it should have been spoken... Now, it's agreed that Okoye is not in the same higher level with Alampasu and he's not in the picture insofar as Rohr's pronouncement in regards to the world cup is concerned (but why em send coach go monitor am if that be the case?). However, I totally agree all the goalkeepers mentioned by you are in contention for the number one spot in the future and I will like to add the Brazilian boy to the list but the truth most be told about the current positions of Alampasu and Maduka. Besides, can you please explain why you think Uzoho has overtaken Alampasu in the National front and club Football? Thanks |

Oasis007: Sir Tee...... Alampasu is no longer a Rookie, he's a Professional and an official 3rd GK for a Portuguese Primeira League Club.
The 2nd GK of the same Club has not played even for a second in the League this Season, rather he's featuring in the Cup Games.
Alampasu is the youngest amongst the Trio, he's 21 and still learning the Game. Thus being part of the first Team ain't Moinmoin and as well a huge Advantage for him over Maduka. He's training with Men, not Kids.
Perhaps Ahmed Musa should have kept honing his Skills at the Leicester U21 Team instead of his loan Move to CSKA Moscow Sir?! Or Iheanacho should have asked for playing Opportunities at the U21 Team instead of warming the Bench?!
There is no way you can compare Training Sessions of the U18 Team with the first Team Sir. Alampasu is professionally getting drilled, while Maduka is academically getting drilled. Honestly, you are getting the point and I expect a football analysts to reason on the same page. |

Oasis007:

I really enjoy the Discourse between Tbaba1234 and Forgiveness, but in fairness Forgiveness had good Points than Tbaba1234.
Point 1; In few Matches ain't the same with a Match. Maduka only featured in a non-competitive Game, hence that ain't a solid Point to rate him over Alampasu presently. Sir Tee can bring on more facts of Maduka's presence with the First Team to convince us.
Point 2; training with the first Team regularly indicates you are a Professional, while frequenting with the U18 (Academy) Team simply means you are still a Rookie.
Point 3; experience-wise Alampasu has more Exposure vis a vis Maduka. He has been on Loan, played at a FIFA Tournament, recognized as the best Keeper in an age-grade Tourney.
Point 4; GK dept ain't like other Depts on the Pitch. The first Choice GK of the Argies is a Bench Warmer at United. He only plays once in a while in the Cup Games. Buffon, at his Age, is still keeping Szczesny on the Bench, hence Alampasu's Situation is professionally understandable.
Finally; both Keepers - Alampasu and Maduka - can't be the first Choice for the Eagles at the Mundial, second Choice is even a Doubt, so what the Fuss?! Truth be told, Alampasu ain't mate with Maduka at the moment.
Is he inactive at his Club? No...... coz he's training (getting drilled) with the first Team regularly. I don't know why people come here and start raising the bar whenever it suits them and quickly reduce the bar whenever it doesn't favour them. The truth must be told. Alampasu is not in the same level with Maduka. EOD. Em! But I don't mind Maduka Okoye gets invitation and eventually capped one day because he might come good in the future. Na just the false assertions me no wan hear. And for those crying, I don't care if Alampasu makes the team to the world Cup neither do I care if Maduka Okoye makes the list for the world cup. |

Both keepers are rookies.. Alampasu has done nothing professionally. He is not at an age where he can be idle. Szczesny is an experienced keeper.
If it is about training with the first team, both players train with the first team regularly. Also Maduka has had competitive caps for the B team of Fortuna.
Alampasu only professional experience was in the division 3 in portugal which is not better than the level Maduka is playing in.
There is a reason why young keepers are loaned out or at least playing reserve football. They need the practise, they need the experience. Alampasu professional experience has gone beyond division 3 in Portugal. He has played in FA cup version of portuguese-liga and with the Nigeria national team. GBAM. tbaba1234: Obi, from Turin to the National team: Nigeria is ready to embrace him again
Sometimes fairy tales have a happy ending. Even if placed in a stormy context, to put it mildly. Joel Obi is living what Torino has been waiting for over two years: a regular season, played regularly, and at the levels that led him to be one of the most interesting youngsters at Inter.
Once upon a time, Nigeria also counted on its performance (13 appearances from 2011 to 2014), but then stopped the customary call due to injuries, which have so far undermined the entire career of the midfielder. Yet, the summer care Mihajlovic, along with that of Dr. Tavana, who unlike his predecessor has found the right keystone, has proved effective: and finally Obi can show off his qualities.
Now, for Torino, the Nigerian has become a staple of the midfield. Almost unavoidable, so much so that recently Mazzarri has preferred to put on the bench the talented (but impalpable) Baselli instead of the former Parma, now in his ninth game as a consecutive holder. And it is for this reason that, now, Nigeria seems ready to embrace her player, who has finally become great: from a young promise, the twenty-five year old Obi seems to have become a certainty, even though he knows very well that he needs many other confirmations. to be able to say that he has thrown away a very difficult period. Even this season, in fact, for a month the midfielder was forced to pit, for yet another muscle problem. Now, things have changed, and in the disaster of Verona has nevertheless proved to be among the most important players of this disrupted Turin. It's the right time, now, to accelerate: for the national team, for the bull and for an environment that is finally able to appreciate it.

.......... but before Oliseh signed for Juventus he was a Regular at Ajax where he won the Eredivisie and KNVB Cup Twice. He spent just two Seasons with Ajax, won 3 Titles and had 54 Caps, 8 Goals as a DM - fantastic Stats I say. Let me also remind you he was a Regular at FC Cologne - 54 Caps, 4 Goals as a DM. Guess you know he joined Ajax after his outstanding and consistent Performance with FC Cologne in two Seasons consecutively?!
Did he flop at Juventus? No..... rather he had already established Players in the Team like Zinedine Zidane, Antonio Conte, Simone Perotta, Edgar David, Enzo Maresca to contend - for a Spot in the starting XI, I guess you and I know his Competitions ain't Rookies or average Players. He spent just a Season and leave for Dortmund because he didn't get enough Chances to prove himself not FLOP!
He played 22 Times in his first Season (2000 - 2001) at Dortmund, bar Injury and Suspension he was a guaranteed Starter - that wasn't FLOP. In 2001/2002 Season that Dortmund won the Bundesliga and a Runner up in UEFA Cup, he had 18 Caps while fiercely competing with an emerging Talent - Tomas Rosicky.
He lost his starting Berth to Tomas Rosicky in 2002/03, thus he sought for a Loan to Bochum in January of 2002/03 Season where he played 12 Times (Regular for the Team). He was still with Club for the following Season, 2003 - 2004 with a regular Spot in the starting XI and played 22 Times.
He returned to Dortmund, had 11 Caps before he was sacked in March 2004 for head butting teammate Vahid Hashemian while on loan at VfL Bochum allegedly over racial remarks. He wasn't released by the Club because he FLOPPED but for a disciplinary Reason.
In a nutshell, Oliseh Stats ain't average but controversial. The present Eagles are on the right Track, but they ain't on par or better than Eagles of 90s. We do not need to argue this, coz it's basically my personal Submission based on Stats and Figures. Good job. Ride on. |

Mujtahida: Don't try to twist my narrative and stoke up sentiments. Kanu is one of my favourite players. I didn't put Kanu and Agbim in the same sentence. Show me where I did. I mentioned Agbim to illustrate a point that merely mentioning a player without digging deep to indicate how many times he featured for that club is being somewhat superficial cos we know that a player can be signed by Real Madrid yet he played zero or so negligible number of matches. So if you want your assertion to be seen for the fact you are advancing kindly show us the stats of all these players for those clubs and then the position clubs like Marseille, Betis, Dortmund, Juve, Anderlecht, Everton, Frankfurt, occupied on the league table. That's what will tell the full story. That's why when I challenged you with Kanu at Inter you said he didn't play for a reason but you forgot that when you mentioned Inter abi?
