Moses is out of it but the rest should buckle up else they should not be considered. A living dog is better than a dead lion. I am watching Germany vs Azerbaijan. There top 9 is Wagner. When did you start hearing about him? |

TheGoodJoe: Whether doing well or not is not a guarantee they are the best for the team. Invite a large pool of potentials and screen the best out. Simple.
Look at De Bruyne who was on the bench of Chelsea and became the best in Bundesliga ahead of Robben and Ribery. So a player getting a regular shot does not mean he is the best.
A while ago, there was a choir screaming Kayode because he was getting playing time in Austria (he was doing well). Now he finds himself in a club where he does not get the chance he needs, (he is not doing well). You can see playing time is the wrong criteria.
Invite the potentials and select the best. Was Bruyne called to the national team when he was chopping bench at Chelsea? |

I have been following Onomah tey tey and I have mentioned him here times without numbers but people keep shutting my mouth because they don't know him. How you wan take tempt me with Joel Obi na, when you know say I no go close eyes before I chose am? TheGoodJoe: Football is not magic. Kayode can not take chances if the team does not create good ones. That is why I like forwards joining sides that creates loads of good chances.
What counts is weighing the factors, coming out with a system to select the best. What should happen to those doing well? |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by forgiveness: 8:26pm On Oct 08, 2017 |
TheGoodJoe: I totally disagree with the do well requirement for selection. There are factors that can affect a good player doing well. A good example is how Machin is treating Kayode. Kayode deserves a better run of games. However, with a well thought out scanning and screening process, devoid of bias, we have a chance of building a true quality squad and selecting the best in each role. If you are not doing well, how can you do well in the world cup? Kayode should take his chances even if na 10 minutes. |

Nothing good can come out of that attitude as it puts the players under more intense pressure. Not a good environment for optimum performance.
For someone who loves everything foreign, you should know that this is not how the motivate their teams I don't think so because the players themselves will be motivated by booos and the defying chorus of cheers. The spirit of real Nigerian soccer go enter dem. |

Kog45: Honestly Rohr has a lot to do and he must be radical in his approach.
I want to see Ndidi and Onazi competing as DMF,one should be on d bench.
Mikel drop a little bit as CMF with player like Etebo or Ogu competing with him not Agu.
Iwobi doing his thing at d right side with Moses Simeon slugging it out with him
V.Moses doing his thing at d left side with d likes of Musa on d sidelines, remember Musa did it well from that angle against Argentina.
Iheanacho playing behinds d top 9 w be an idea coz it w give him more room to express himself
Ighalo as top 9 for now coz not yet feasible player to unsurp him,how i wish Tammy can be available to compete with him.
Balogun, Ekong are good as it's now though things need to be done regards availability of back up CB,Awaziem is available, hope players like Felix Uduokhai, Tournarigba Ojokojo, Irofa w be available for selection, not forgetting Omeruo.
Shehu Abdullahi is a revelation hope he can keep it up,good to have Aina who is comfortable in both full backs and with Echiejele, Ebuhei.Hope we can still find one or two players to slug it out with them for better selection
Goalkeeping dept our greatest headache no thanks to Ikeme health issue but thank God for Ezenwa calmness.I still believe in Enyeama hope he get good club in January to fight for a place in d team and with Akpeyi, Ajiboye, Alampasu, with these five we should get good three to represent Nigeria at WC. For the no 9 slot, Ighalo, Iheanacho, Martins, Kayode, Nwakaeme, Dessers, Dennis Bonaventure, Olayinka, Awoniyi, Osimhen, Ideye and Tammy Abraham are all in contention provided any of them do well this season. No favourism or sentiment should be attached to selection to the world Cup. You do well you are in but if you no do well you are out. |

Look, the same way I followed Balogun when he started out as a DMF before be was converted to CB, later RB and finally CB is the same way I followed most of our foreign players including Tiago Ilori whom I followed from his days at Sporting Lisbon to Granada, and from Granada to Bordeaux. He was always making the team steady except when he was out due to injury. Believe me, I know a very good player when I see one and you all should have known this since I am always a die hard supporter of these players even when they are nobody. |

I feel we need reinforcements here.
Elderson has served us well but i do not think, he should be first choice at the world cup. Awaziem and Agbo must be tested against Algeria before been considered 3rd or 4th choice CB. No player should hide in the congregation to the world Cup. |

I don't expect him to be a stumbling block on this issue,he was a very local home based player then and i thought he should be happy seeing d boy played for Nigeria.
Kudos to Iwobi and Aina Fathers, see d join in their face, just like when someone child graduated from d university. They are just too happy seeing their children playing for Nigeria.
Hope Tammy Dad can do d same thing, though a lot are not happy with him now for coming out to denied Nigeria but hope he can have a rethink.
Ojokojo and Irofa fall my hand on their children coz they know d system very well and nobody should tell them before these guys pledge allegiance to Nigeria.
My wish is to see Felix Uduokhai,Ojokojo, Irofa in Nigeria colour and make d competition thick in d national team just like d way we are seeing Aina,Iwobi Balogun, Ekong doing it. Tiago Ilori should also be considered. |

Mickael2: you shot yourself there. You said Onazi played better as a CMF than Ndidi but somehow you said Ndidi covered for Agu while also playing his CMF position and everyone saw that we played better in the second half, so how did Onazi play better than Ndidi as CMF? Food for thought.
Agu did nothing fantastic except 5 interceptions which is what he was there to do. A dmf should not be doing anything fantastic, just sit in front of the defence and shield and Agu wasn't caught out of position We dominated while Onazi lasted. |

Let's assume that Aina starts playing the LB position, we only have Shehu and Ebuehi who is not that high up Rohr's ladder, Omeruo can do more than a decent job at RB as well, he is a good ball player not just a tackler Until we play a grade A friendly I don't take Shehu, Echiejile, Ekong, Balogun Aweriem, Agbo and Ugbo seriously |

I just can never ever fancy that guys style of play. I'd play Rabiu Ali before Raheem Lawal in my MF. Yes he may have some passes but he's too slow and lethargic when in possesion. . Besides, Joel Obi and Ajagun are all rounder and don't forget that Onazi was once an offensive player before he was converted to a DMF last season. He plays as a CMF for us most times. |
