Which mentality? What intentions?

I don't need to hide my intentions from anybody because I am no body slave or puppet. GBAM!

But I was notched to add decorum and diplomacy in my approach and above all fear of God else I for don..... grin

Anyway, I think your mind is not pure because I can now perceive why you can't comprehend due to your curiosity and doubt.

Now, tell me the subject of discussion before you continue with your hallucinations. grin

That was when rogues, touts, louts, thugs, knaves and hardened criminals ruled in Lagos and infected the State with the spirit of agberoism. Lagos has shifted and is shifting from that paradigm due to the civilising efforts of the last and current administrations. Besides a whole new generation of Lagosians are coming into their own who did not witness the thug life there. So I believe that if a game is hosted in Lagos they would behave well.
Where rough, touts, tugs, knaves and harden criminal no dey? Sha na Calabar or Uyo? shocked grin

Abeg! Tell me another story.

The subject of discussion was about the attitude of fans and it was tbaba1234 that started it. It was not moving or changing location as you thought. grin

tbaba1234:
Uyo fans are the best.. Always supporting the team.

I remember, at some point, Lagos became very toxic for the super eagles. If we are playing badly, they will start booing the players.

Even with failure to qualify for the nations cup, the Uyo stadium is always full.
And I replied this.

forgiveness:
Once Ambode finishes the renovation of the national stadium, we will start seeing the Super Eagles in Lagos then we go know whether it's shite or not.

Besides, 7 years of our national team playing their games in some parts of the country with the exclusion of one part is not good enough for those fans in this part. grin

Let there be rotation.

Na you dey lie.

Our second match in AFCON 2000 against Congo goalless draw is an example.

During the match I watched on TV as the fans were throwing bottles at Gbenga Okunowo when he was about to take a corner kick.

If you were at the stadium and you missed that, I suggest that you start watching from the TV to see better. The team bus was even stoned even though we didnt lose the match
Bros, bottles or any dangerous objects were never allowed in the bowl. So, how you take see bottle na em me I no understand? grin

Reaction to changing the dull loosing mentally that has made us losed two nations cup playing outside Lagos. Period.

They dare not lose Africa qualifiers in Lagos and walk out with potbelly stomach.

Your argument is way out of point. I gave my reasons why I called it backward.
We have just qualified playing in Uyo. So we now have a new home.. Why change the team's home now? Do you have a cogent reason, than stating that we won trophies in Lagos etc in the past? This is a new team, and they are now playing comfortably in Uyo.
I gave you points why your argument was way out of point.

Is it not in Calabar and Uyo they failed to qualify for Africa cup of Nations twice? shocked grin

Lagosian fans should be no different from faithful fans in the stands of Munchen, London.. just name it. We have seen one of the greatest football supporters in Europe. It is well exemplified there as regards supporting their team. That Lagosian fan culture you are trying to celebrate is a backward one in my opinion. You have to stand behind your team whether they are playing badly or not. Every club or country plan to play like champions, and they should always be seen as such.
Backward but na for there you win your first nations cup, na for there you qualify for the first time to the world Cup, na for there we won club trophies for the first time, na for there you qualify go 1996 Olympics, na for there you reach another nations cup final etc

My friend, when did you start watching football? grin

But don't cry foul if it doesn't happen. It's very normal for national teams to have a home stadium. For now, and maybe in a long time to come, it will remain in Uyo.
My backyard is closer to Uyo than Lagos. I almost went to the stadium to watch the match but I don't like walking out late at night.

my question is how many players are we going to give chance within this short period, we are expecting about 5 friendlies before the final build up, what if these players u guys clamouring for performed so well during some of the friends like Ogbechi did,n flops during the WC cup proper.
for me,most of these new players should only b given a chance after d WC. We still have AFCON for them to play.
Club performance should determine invitation and if they do well in at least two friendlies then they deserve to go.

In the nations cup after we lost to Cameroon.. Wetin happen? Weren't the players stoned with pure water?

Before we stopped playing games in Lagos, Booing was normal when the team is playing badly.

Uyo fans are always behind the team.

Lagos is great when Nigeria is playing well but if we are playing rubbish. Lagos can be a difficult place to play. They can start supporting the away team, giving them more confidence.
You point is clear. You must have the right mentally of a champion before you embark on playing in Lagos. angry

The reaction of Lagos fans will be great if they played the match against zambia in Lagos because they will first of all demoralize the Zambians with booing and defying noise and it could spur Eagles to score more goals with a more entertaining game.

But if they eventually lose after all the wahala dey go through, bros.... grin

Nigeria '99, after Nigeria drew with Costa Rica in Lagos, the Lagosian fans pelted the players with stones. It caused a security situation where players could not leave because of the violent actions of the Lagosian fans.

Armed personnel had to disperse the crowd to take our players out of the stadium.

I do not have to be in the Stadium to see missiles being thrown at players or hear the boos of fans.

Impatience was common in Lagos. Once the team is struggling, the boos start. Especially when the opponent scores us.

I watched all our matches during the 2000 nations cup at the National stadium save the finals because of..... grin

There was no time the players where booed nor stoned because their games were entertaining. grin

If you play boring game you should expect to be booed.

However, I only witnessed booing and throwing of pure water when the U23 were thrashed by Togo in our last friendlies before the Olympics in 1996. grin

Nothing do Uyo but once Ambode finishes all the renovation of national stadium, we go request for the team to play in Lagos.

So, what is the purpose of building the stadium in Abuja?

Waste of money.

The point is that a player of top quality who can help the team might lose the chance if we rely on judgment of coaches when they can still have bias.

We need the best in every role. Not the best selected by clubs in every role.
So, we should carry strikers that site out the whole season on the bench, ba?

If they are not booing the team, they are throwing pure water at them.
Then you shouldn't say what you don't know because you never experienced the atmosphere.

They don't throw pure water always neither do they boo always. They do those things when necessary. Especially when they notice the players or coaches are not committed to the game.

We can't do rotation with the national team. World over teams have their home stadia. In England it's Wembley. So for now it's Uyo and they ain't doing badly.
But I heard it's Onikan stadium that Ambode is working on not the national stadium
How can Uyo be the home ground when Abuja and Lagos dey?

The fact that they took it from Lagos to Abuja and from Abuja until it got to Uyo means, they should bring it to Lagos.

He is renovating Onikan stadium and he's also planning to renovate National stadium. Politics is behind the delay of the later.

He Iwobi was not even a regular in the England U18 he actually only played once. But played U17 & 16 games for England.

In that regard using the comparison of Iwobi's selection as a unit of measurement then we should automatically be inviting without delay.

Iorfa, Ojo, Tega, Tega, and Onyedinma.

Still can not understand why Aluko has not been invited.
