MtuMsuper: The rail you see in the pictures above is NOT light rail, and neither is it intra city. Its conventional, long distance, with standard gauge. It is about to open anytime now, to replace the older one. Its a countrywide project.
Nowenuse: I think Mombasa's rail is inter-city and not intra-city.
@Forgiveness, i see no reason comparing Nigerian and Kenyan cities. They are all developing. None has perfected anything. See Mombasa has a better inter-city rail network, while PH has a better intra-city rail network.
We are all still yet to get there.
How could you have known without this platform?
I just want to know what Mombasa can offer apart from tourism. From there we can learn.
Kenyanstar: Thats magnificient structure is the Mombasa terminal... About it functioning i thought you watched the video or you lack enough data bundles to watch the video . Nigerian poor cellular network can be a problem bro, i understand your struggle.
Meanwhile the Kenyan SGR train has a capacity of 1000 passengers travelling at a minimum 120km/h and maximum of 180km/hr.
I think Mombasa trashed Port Harcourt Interms of inter - city rail but Port Harcourt thrashed Mombasa with the magnificent airport and Intra - city rail.
Of course, I saw the video and don't forget I also showed you the video of Port Harcourt Mono rails but it doesn't mean it is operating.
Ps. Please, take note that the Coastal Standard Guage railway from Port Harcourt to Lagos is in the pipeline.
chkil0: any source and true statistic to compare numbers ?
for contenaire trafic is calculated with TEUs ( twenty-foot equivalent units)
1 - Port Said Egypt 3,850,000 TEU in 2015 2 - Tanger Med Morocco 2,964,324 TEU in 2015 3 - Durban South Africa 2,770,335 TEU in 2015 4 - Alexandria Egypt 1,688,301 TEU in 2015 5 - Lagos Nigeria 1,538,086 TEU in 2015

Good you have moved to next item, Amenities.
Under Amenities is Transportation. After showing mine show me yours.
Hbuyosh: Jay254 has posted acreages of photos here. Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret,Thika, Lamu, Kericho, Kisii, Naivasha, Kericho.....these are all Kenyan cities.
This is Eldoret, our fifth largest town in terms of population. Jay has posted the photos of Thika on this and ther previois page, which to me is more charming than Eldoret.
Kisumu vs Uyo Because Ibadan will knock out Kisumu one time if we consider the criteria l listed before and the ones below.
I will always considered many factors before I can give a proper verdict on these cities. Pictures can't do without pinpoint what are the things obtainable in them.
Hbuyosh: A bit of some confontation and d!ck measuring are inevitable on this thread. Check out how this thread started off. It wont go apeshit now. It started off on roucous note, the nature of the debate here goes as thu; the bitter discussion tones downs a bit (like now), tempers flair up again then things mellowe out again, then again.....
Soo, just enjoy this short moment of some semblance of a civilized discourse.
Jay254: I believe the two cities play the same role in each country.
Ph is the Oil city while Mombasa is the tourist city. They both have sea line Population wise they do not have abig difference though ph has an advantage. They both have a port.
We can play around that.
Possible Criteria:
Population Amenities (Total) Cost of Living Price of Gas Total Crimes/100K Violent Crimes/100k High School Graduation Rate Students/Teacher Median Household Income Commute Time Median Home Price Median Rent Temp Air Quality Unemployment Rate Recent Job Growth Sales Taxes Income Taxes
These are we need to have critical analysis step by step the best.
Starting with population, Port Harcourt wins.
Do you agree?
Now, you can do the second rating. This will be the big deal.
TayserMahiri: Since its a he makes the whole assessment susceptible to bias. He might want to please you Kicking off with Lagos will be fair play. How long was he here and where specifically was he based?
I don't think so because his kind are blunt.
I think 5-6 years approximately and he was based in Nairobi though must have been to many parts in Kenya. You can see why kicking off with Lagos vs Nairobi will be fair play.
Don't worry I will announce his verdicts, hopefully.
