Nowenuse: Don't mind the foolish Kenyans. Nigeria has dozens of cities that are all developing at the same time, while the Kenyan govt spends all their money in developing Nairobi and Mombasa alone and yet these cities still have the largest slums in Africa.
I can't imagine if the entire Nigeria has spent all our time building only Lagos and Abuja, by now, both cities would have been competing with Tokyo and New york. You are right. Nigeria has dozens of cities developing at the same time. The last two times I went to P/h I was impressed even the Asian that went with us was impressed. Even with all the cities Kenya presented here I still rate Lagos and Abuja highly than Nairobi and others. This is my rating. 1, Lagos 2, Abuja 3, Nairobi 4, Port Harcourt 5, Mombasa |

Maduawuchukwu: Hahaha. U are right but in addition to that we are a federal country with federal xteristics. Everybody wants to develop too and nobody will tolerate the FG putting all infrastructure in Lagos or Abj alone. To make our cities become as developed as one-city states in Africa are or as American states are we need more funds. To get more funds, the government needs to invest in more revenue generating area. Most of these revenue areas like mining and commerce are in the hands of the federal government. Can the states still get sufficient funds from their limited areas of taxation? If the answer is no Can the Nigerian Federal government successfully diversify the Nigerian economy on their own so that the states benefit? I doubt it. These questions are the issues that are going to be in the front burner in the coming years for these obodo Naija. Of course, with our diversity, it's impossible to develop only two cities. However, states can develop on their if only the system of government is totally discentralised. That is why majority of Nigerians are clamouring for restructuring but the core - Northerners doesn't want. |

Lionessza: Dude firstly South Africa had one of the most illiterate societies and the government had to first focus on that, what would we have done with the economy without skills and education? Grab everything from the whites and then what destroy it all? Now in 23 years we are like the 3rd literarate country in the continent that if that is not improvement don't know what is. I never said you didn't make improvements but I'm just showing ours in 23 years, more than 90 % of our households in 2016 had access to 24hr electricity compared to like 20% pre 94, in 60 years couldn't you atleast hire the Chinese to do that?. Talking of improvements we also went from having less access to sanitation in the continent to being non existent in that list but you still feature prominently in 60 years?. The infrastructure post 94 is more than that pre 94 why? because of the increase on black middle class, yes we still own smaller companies than the whites but progress is being made yearly , we can't exactly go from not knowing nothing about the economy to running it in 23 years now can we ? . You asked solving what problems, well the government has heard it's people's cries that they are ready now to play big in the economy and new policies are being put in place for the land issue and other things and we will start implementing in June. How many Nigerians are in control of your wealth? Be honest here. By the way another improvement is we had many slums and last year we had only 5 % of our population living in them and I bet you by end of this year the number will shrink. South Africans are not magicians we can't wish away hundreds of years of institutional racism but we can work by degrees to get to where we want. So far our focus has been education and hdi and we are almost there, now the economy we will get there. Tell me about naija so far ...no anger just what you are working on, and since when ? How old is SA? |

If it is still being practiced in SA, it's the duty of AU which Nigeria is also a member to speak against it. . If you can recall, Nigeria and other African countries boycotted one of the Olympics because of you. It is our civil duties to fumigate any form of RACISM in Africa including SA. |

Obi1kenobi: Keep on lying to yourself. You're here in a diicckk measuring contest and you're claiming you're not looking for respect.
As I've told you, it's not by empty bragging. Respect is earned. Not chest beating because you have a large population. Economically and politically, Germany is the most influential country in Europe. They're known for their industry, innovation, work ethic, organization, standard of living and respect for the law. A German can travel to almost any country without a visa. That's influence.
Meanwhile, the rest of Africa sneer at Nigerians and we're a popular subject of ridicule. The likes of Obama, Cameron, Xi, Abe etc visited this continent and didn't give a flying fucckk about your country. That should
And i ask you again, Have you ever been to any african country apart from nigeria? tell you you're not nearly as relevant as you think.
Who cares about Obama, Cameron, Xi etc visiting Nigeria when we know most of these countries got no good intentions for us and when we know they are one of those who plunged us into these mess? Nigerians needs to emancipate themselves from mental slavery. |

Most households in Lagos pump water from the ground. The estate I lived in VI had its own pump water system. VI, Ikoyi, Yaba, Lagos Island, Apapa, Ikeja, Maryland, Festac, Ilupeju and some areas are definitely connected to water cooperation but..... |

Obi1kenobi: Eko Atlantic? More hype. For your info, skyscrapers don't interest me (and even if it did, Lagos and Nigeria's skyline and architecture is highly mediocre). I'm more interested in when pipe-borne water from municipal water treatment services would reach most homes. When planned centralized sewage and water treatment is available to the 99% of Nigerians that don't have them. When regulated urban housing following city master plans become reality, rather than free-styling anyhow. When uninterrupted power is available to all. I'm more interested in practical issues that affect everyday urban dwellers. Since you know all these. What are you doing or have you done to make it possible |
