As a manager what's expected of him is to have some basic skills in resolving issues, forecasting, communicating effectively, critical thinking , emotional intelligence, planning, cost controller, dispute and claims resolution, proactiveness, new initiatives and ideas. Time and resources management, empathy, Good team player and lead.

He should buy lots of books on management and performance.

What is expected of a manager is Growth of an organisation.

He should look for areas where the company is failing and give proposals on how to make it better

He should take on new initiatives, challenge the status quo of the organisation.

Don't always go with the crowd, always be excellent.

Family / Re: Is This Monthly Budget Supposed To Be Enough For My Family by Foscons(m): 2:37pm On Jun 26, 2022
The 80k food and cooking is dependent on the area you stay and the quality of food you eat.

I stay at Sangotedo and i aviod the sangotedo market because things are too expensive there.

If it was 2 years ago, 80k would be more than enough but now with a family of 6 , 80k and the other things you do would Sometimes not be enough but it depends how the money is spent.

This is not something you quarell over. Sit with your wife and make a list of everthing you need and even the cooking. Everthing should be on a budget.

What i do is that i split the money into 2, this part is for food stuffs /provision and the other part is for cooking. We make a list of all food stuffs and provision which would exceed our budget, then we try to adjust the list to our budget by removing 1 or 2 things we still have at home or i just say we cannot afford it for this month. My wife takes care of things I remove with her own funds and even do some other things as well.

For the cooking we divide the money into 4 equal parts for each week. Make sure everthing is on budget. I do same with friut, fuel etc.

My wife is a fashion designer and earns as well but i provide every SINGLE expenditure in our budget and even give her upkeep as well. If she complains i tell her thats my budget, she can use her funds. For every month i still have a 100k plus for savings.

Start working with a budget you would enjoy it, your wife would not over spend and there would be transparency. Sometimes you need SAP

I go to the market as well to see the price of things my self. My budget for my house has remained the same for the past 2 years even though i know things are expensive now, i just do a supplemantary budget because i know how every dime is spent based on the budget. I have been thinking of increasing but i need more funds.

I have been going to the market consistently for 4 months now for food stuffs/ provision and cooking. bro things are expensive. When i complain when buying stuffs. The women around would say. Yes this is it, that their husbands thinks they are using the money for other things. Hope i am feeling what they are feeling. Sometimes I get home and complain to my wife about how things are expensive.

You need mutiple streams of income and your wife needs to contribute funds as well if she has something doing.

Properties / Re: How Much Of Your Salary Should Be Used To Pay Your Rent? by Foscons(m): 11:30pm On Jan 28, 2022
Hmm, this is it. It's a rent to own
aikyg:

Financial expert peg it at 25-30% because they assume you are paying to own the house eventually. Understand the difference!
Career / Re: What Is The Intro Salary Of Structural Engineers. by Foscons(m): 12:20am On Jan 28, 2022
Focus on learning first as an entry level. Don't consider salary. Look for a place that would give you all the opportunity to learn and be grounded in Construction/ Structural. Made same mistake after graduation, was after money which I got but not too grounded. My friends where suffering in structural firm paying them peanut but today they own their firms and construction company with staff strength of 20 minimum. Not doing too bad myself.

You should be looking for a place to learn if ur in entry level
I intend to relocate to Lagos this year after over twenty years in London and was wondering if I could survive on 100k a month. No accommodation cost included as I have a house already. Just living expenses for I and my wife.

2 people can survive on 100k a month but it depends on your lifestyles. It would be hard at first for you considering you have stayed in the UK for 20yrs and used to all the basic amenities and perks of life.
Is it for only feeding or General upkeep for both of you ?
For both of you to survive on 100k per month you would have to let go of the UK lifestyle.
You would let go of so many things that you considered basic before. Your location also matters as well.

I am 55 years old....and have potential rental income of 2 mil from my houses, do I still need to work ?
You still need to work but not 9- 5 jobs.
1.Before coming to Nigeria try study the Nigeria market and look for products in demand that you can bring from the UK.
2. Consulting and freelancing jobs are in demand but it depends on your area of expertise.

Education / Re: What Can A Person Do With A Third Class Degree? by Foscons(m): 7:40pm On Jan 12, 2021
Third class is just a grade. You can do so much more working as a career person and as entrepreneur. The degree cannot stop you from achieving your dreams. I graduated with a third class but not doing bad ( junior management). My last salary increase 3 months ago was 100k+ I don't know anybody in all the firms I have worked. Entry level would be difficult at first but just get more skills and certification, Later your experience and skills would make you stand out by given you the needed advantage.
Being an entrepreneur is Cool, give it the very best. have a plan and work your plan, Know your onion and nations would come to you. My 1 cent
The first land I sold was on nairaland. I listed a property for sale on the property section, a woman called and booked a day to see the place. She came on time and liked the estate. I made arrangements to see the owner and the deal was sealed. The Commission was meant to be around 2 million naira but the client used (don't worry, we still have more business to do) sense for me and gave me only 200k. I was happy because that was one of my first briefs in real estate so it seems like big money to me back then. When I think about it now, I get annoyed knowing I could have bargained for a higher commission. [/quote

Distinguished country man and woman, I greet you all. A small request please because I do believe I could meet my helper here.

I have never owned a suit dress in my life before not because I don't like it but because I couldn't afford it. However, that never really bothered me because I was still forging ahead with my life with T-shirts but the hour for suit is here. After tilling the ground to ensure I see myself through University, to God be the glory. Now my final year project defense is just around the corner. Please bless me with a suit so I can use it on my defense day. May Go richly bless whoever deem it fit to sow this seed, amen.

What size do you wear. Do u mind sky blue with stripes double breasted suit
