EducationEbola Virus:why Are Nigerians So Greedy? by fowowe411(op): 9:50am On Sep 09, 2014
The deadly Ebola virus has made headlines in Nigeria ever since its first reported case in Lagos state. The federal govt annouced that school will not be open until oct 13 of this year but later reverse its decision and put the resumption date at 22 sept of this month which many have described as bowing to the pressure of these private schools proprietors.Be that as it may,My main contention is that why are the proprietors protesting? Is it because of money? Is it because of their love for the Nigerian education system?.
The NMA announced recently that the FG was wrong to have reverse its decision which I support passionately. What's the point opening school when the health of our children is at stake? Is not only the living that can have access to education?why are Nigerians so greedy?.well I need contributions and views of Nairalanders to this matter.

Nairaland GeneralRe: The Ten Worst Countries For Women by fowowe411: 12:50pm On Sep 07, 2014
tunshe: A list from biased minds!

Placing Saudi Arabia on that list is a very wrong submission.

Because Saudi Arabia refuses to allow women mix freely with men? They would have been delisted if they allowed men Bleep women like dogs on streets like here in the US?

A society that caters for women needs, why must a woman drive when male drivers, husband or relatives can take them out when they wish? Is driving a car the priority or getting to your destination?

I see this as a respect to women rather than marginalisation.

Thumbs up to Saudi Arabia for treating women as the most valuable being.

Update

See what majority of Saudi Arabia women think (PLEASE READ);

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2013/nov/02/saudi-protest-driving-ban-not-popular
You are just trying to justify their action by saying women are being respected with the ban on driving.Like seriously do u mean there won't be sometimes when a woman needs to go out all alone? The law is so stupid because I dnt tink the ban is necessary,yu can always "protect" them in a thousand ways !.The list shouldn't be surprising to anybody because even islamic religion allow women to be treated as property by men.

Amya: No one bothers to think things deeply nowadays. We just want to accept whatever people/the press are saying?

It's unfortunate though that the people behind this know how a typical Nigerian takes things at face value. Please where are the supposed chibok girls the aussie went to negotiate for? Where are the supposed drones from America to fight the terrorist? So many questions people don't even think to ask.
Am really enjoying maself with this saga. You would also "think deep" if Ihejirika is not there ryt? Lolz *lemme just keep observing as tribal bigots come to their kinsmen rescue*

It is people like that you don't allow Nigeria to progress. There is a terrorism-sponsorship allegation against Ihejirika but for your sheer sentiment and bigotry you see nothing wrong in it but had it been it was Buhari then hell would have let loose.I don't blame Nigeria politicians with their corrupt practises because Nigerians are so gullible!

Yes you can study Law in USA,England,Canada et.c and still be qualify to practise law in Nigeria provided you pass the Bar part1&2 exams. And to those saying their constitution is different, yes you are right but the thing is you are taught "how to practise law" in school and you don't really need to be grounded in the existing laws of that country.
HealthRe: FG Confirms 10th Ebola Case In Lagos by fowowe411: 7:52pm On Aug 11, 2014
Sincere9gerian: Beremekwensu, I have already criticized the FG but it is the constitutional responsibility of the state govt to mobilize private hospitals IN LAGOS for possible Ebola case. The Lagos state govt FAILED WOEFULLY in that regard. If that private hospital had been primed for possible Ebola case, the situation would have been different. What we have currently is 10 new cases of CONFIRMED Ebola, all contacted from the index case (the Liberian). I mean that is the hallmark of a CATASTROPHIC healthcare system. It means Fashola presided over a catastrophic health care system in the last 7 years. That is shameful.

Where the FG failed was in failing to establish Ebola screening centres at the Airport. However, so far most other suspected or confirmed cases of Ebola in other countries were picked up at the hospital, not the Airport.
I don't know what to say but you are a Fool.Sorry I don't mean to insult you but am just tryin to say you are a fool!
So it is the constitutional duty of Lagos state govt to fund private hospitals? You're such a joke and people like you are nuisance to public sanctity. For God's sake if you wanna play politics ,is it on a subject like this?Nigeria is so unfortunate to have people like you.
People keep blaming GEJ for Nigeria's woes but how will Nigeria progress with this kind of "sincere citizen"smh.

PoliticsPEJ Orders Rivers Commissioner To Release Arrested Thugs by fowowe411(op): 10:58am On Jan 06, 2014
In a rare show of power she constitutionally doesn't have, Nigeria's First Lady Patience Jonathan has reportedly ordered the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mbu Joseph Mbu, to release the armed thugs of her close political allies, Senator George Sekibo and Evans Bipi.

The six men were arrested on Friday by the Joint Military Task Force (JTF) in Ogu, the hometown of the two politicians, and they were handed over to the police for prosecution.

But SaharaReporters has authoritatively learned that Mrs. Jonathan ordered Mr. Mbu to release the suspects as well as return to them the arms and ammunition that were found in their possession.  It is as yet unclear if Mbu has complied with the order, but Mr. Bipi, a former domestic aide of Mrs. Jonathan, is understood to be actively trying to ensure the release.

Meanwhile a crisis of confidence seems to have erupted between the JTF/Army and the police in Rivers State concerning how the story, which was broken by Saharareporters, leaked to the media.  Mbu is said to have complained loudly that the Army/JTF must have leaked the story to the media.

The police commissioner is further said to have lamented that the other security agencies (Army, Navy, Airforce, SSS) in the State are not helping him and the police at all in the fight against Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi.  According to our source, he is citing the arrest of the six men and the subsequent leakage of the story as an example of such lack of cooperation, arguing that had the arrest been made by the Rivers State police command, the media would not have heard about it.

A source within the JTF/Army has however dismissed Mbu's claims, describing them as ridiculous and preposterous. The source maintained that the army does not get involved in politics and certainly does not take sides in political fights, calling Mbu a joker if he expects the army to do otherwise.

The source further stated that Mbu should look inside the police concerning how the story got to the media, saying that it was after the Army handed over the suspects to the police for prosecution that the story went public.

It would be recalled that the six armed youths were arrested by the JTF on Friday on their way to Ogu in Ogu Bolo Local Government Area.  They had on them several AK-47 rifles arrested six youths bearing seven AK47, 146 rounds of 7.62mm Special life ammunition and 10 life magazines.

Their names were given as Daniel Ibito-Anga, Sunday Elisha, Uche Jenikachi, Ibinabo Lawson, and Okechukwu Okoro.  Their leader, Ibito-Anga, is known to present himself as Security Adviser/PA to both Senator George Sekibo as well as State Assemblyman Bipi.

Sekibo and Bipi hail from Ogu and are known to be very close allies of Mrs. Jonathan.

promisechild: guy I must tell you that u are uninformed. a philosopher doesn't argue with a naïve person which I wouldn't find myself doing,
Since u don't know the meaning of philosophy all u need to do is to shut up,have u ever seen a philosopher walking around the the streets begging for alms before? Or have a philospher visited your house to collect garri from your family or neigbour? I guess No and you are saying what you don't know

A philosophy student who really knows what he or she is doing would always thrive in life because they have the key to life in their hands.

King Solomon was famous and rich because of the wisdom he has

That is the wisdom he has gave him wealth and made him famous

Seek for wisdom and everything shall be added to you

Recently I saw a publication by a multi national company in Nigeria and I decided to summit a fake CV though am not a graduate, just to gain the experience of how the interview world looks like

During the interview proper I was interviewd by 3 whites and 2 blacks. I was asked some behaviourial and logical questions which my philosophical thought helps me to answer all their questions currently without any hindrance.

Guess what on the 29th of october 2013 I was asked to resume work the following monday which I didn't because am still an undergraduate.

So my brother study philosophy and your life will never remain the same again

HRs don't need your brain they need u to answer their logical and behavioural questions they would asked you while we the philosophers knows how to answer those questions because we are the master of logic.
I give up on you. Can't you make your points clear without attacking my personality? I can see you are a free-thinker indeed.Well I refuse to be intimidated by this your choice of words btw it is a free point. The main thing is you can't understand a simple write-up.what is in philosophy that I don't know? I did philosophy for over 2 good semesters as a borrowed course no doubt the course is rich in knowledge but my point here is what's the demand rate for them in a country like Nigeria?.All am saying is govt should cut the rate at which these people are being admitted.

promisechild: my bro what is the meaning of philosophy?

I guess u don't know the meaning and u are typing jagons that philosophy isn't a good course to study

Science and mathematics came to existence through philosophy

Philosophy is a course that broaden ones mind philosophers are natural enterprenuer

In the job prospect for a philosopher there is 92% job prospects for a philosopher in Nigeria.for instance there is no higher institution either coventional ones or non conventional ones that doesn't offer logic and philosophy as a course. who go teach them no be philosophers? that is there 96% job prospect for a philosopher in an educational sector ,a philosopher is also good at researching which is the main aim of philosophers they seek to find knowlege.

The likes of aristotle, socrates, charles darwin, plato including all those who invented one thing or the other were philosopher because they think beyond human reasoning.

Am a philosopher and I love my course because I know what you don't know about life.
