this feels like a security breach to me. I mean other counties can tap into the conversation and spy on the govt. Nigeria needs to invest in secure communications. probably using Skype which is American owned

If only Yorubas would join the Igbo and fight for a revolution to force the Northern leaders to come back to the drawing table. Imagine majority of the oil blocks are owned by the North, yet the region is the poorest. They want to be leaders for life yet they are so bad at leadership. The problem is not Biafra, not Nigeria, but Northern leaders - the oil cartels preventing Nigeria from progress!

Go around Nigeria and see the number of proper houses, roads, schools, vehicles, hospitals, airports etc, that exist in their MILLIONS compared to the thatched huts, footpaths, bicycles, and malnourished, barefoot children that were the norm under British rule. there is difference between house and home, difference between building schools and building quality education. Nigerian leaders lack innovation. when we build roads, there is no proper road markings or proper pavement for pedestrians. proper sewage we don't have. proper postal addresss to receive online orders or letters we don't have. how long will it take to have these simple tthings? after 55 years. common NYSC, people camp in places not even fit for a pig. is this not a zoo?

we haven't solved power problem for over 55years. how difficult is it? if it were europeans thay were in Africa, that's more than enough time to solve the isue of power cuts. they will probably generate more and sell to other countries.

yupe Nigeris is nothing more than a glorified village. quality of life is important. you may be rich but you cant enjoy your money in Nigeria because the living condions are terrible. I keep on wondering how leaders can go outside Nigeria, see how good things are then come back to Nigeria and be comfortable with the mess. wonder if we have the same brian as other developed counties.

not pleased with his response on sharia and stoning of women.. he did not deny saying he wanted full implementation of sharia in Nigeria but said he can't do that because of the constitution.

this is a waste of funds from Cross River. This is not priority at the moment. why can't government focus on more important things at the moment. this road will be used by how many people? investment in education, health and agriculture should be the most important thing

Recently, Michelle Obama ( not president of West Germany) went to the UK to promote girls education in London [1]. This part of London is usually populated by ethnic minorities. I think personally, Africa, Asia or South America would have been a better place to promote education, not UK. Well, this is another topic for another day.

Looking at the pictures of the Obama's children, I can't help but notice that their dresses were too short for official trips. This is not the first time that they have been criticised for their dressing [2]. I mean in some schools, that dress would violate the dress code. The girls had to hold down their dresses from being blown open while getting on the plane. I mean it is okay for normal day wear but not for official visits. Do you think Michelle got it wrong here?

I was at presidential hotel yesterday, the guy in charge asked me my score, i told him, and he assured me that i will be contacted within 24 hours if i scored what i said i scored. He asked me to go home. i'm waiting patiently. Friends, if at last we are not contacted, no skin pain. Let's be mature in making our complains and grievances. You can contact them and ask questions. This is not the end of the world ie nddc scholarship. i wrote last year, went for interview and after that i was not selected. Life goes on. I have a career to chase. Success to you all.

what's your score, state and program you applied for? when people saud they scored high, what do they mean exactly?

I think this is rubbish really. God did not give Igbo people, white man, America etc special powers. We are all born with the same brain processing power. How will train and use this brain is down to us and not down to tribe or skin colour. The secret here is just pure hardwork and the right attitude!

By the way I am an Igbo man and I am still not successful. Being born Igbo hasn't given me any special power. I guess I have to use my brain like everyone else.

when will the interview email be spent?

2000 out of 3000 people will be invited for the interview? that's a lot of people. I am guessing cut off mark will be low. if average score was 30 then cut-off maybe = >26

You see in mathematics division by 0 is undefined.

so (10-10)/(10-10) = 0/0 = undefined which is the right thing to do

but he did (10-10)/(10-10) = 1 which is the wrong thing to do

Africa's richest man may be the next owner of Arsenal football club.

That's the hint from a Bloomberg interview with Aliko Dangote, the commodities colossus with a net worth estimated at $15.7 billion (£10.38 billion).

Here he is in Bloomberg:

"I still hope, one day at the right price, that I’ll buy the team," Dangote, 58, said in an interview as he traveled on a plane owned by one of his companies between the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa and the Nigerian commercial hub of Lagos on May 1. "I might buy it, not at a ridiculous price but a price that the owners won’t want to resist. I know my strategy."

He's got business interests in plenty of African countries, and across a broad range of commodities — and could easily prove to be Arsenal's answer to Chelsea's Roman Abramovich.

Dangote has reportedly mounted an attempt to buy the club previously. In 2010, it was widely rumoured that he had offered to buy Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith's 15.9% stake in the club. Back then, Forbes suggested he had a fortune of around $3.3 billion (£2.18 billion), far less than he does now. He could now mount a much larger bid if he wanted.

He said he has too many other investments to keep an eye on for the moment, precluding an immediate takeover. He's not alone in his fondness for the north London club: Nigeria has a soft spot for Arsenal as a team in general.

There are some similarities between Arsenal and the Nigerian economy: Both are powerful forces that regularly promise great things, but seem to constantly fall short.

Dangote has successfully navigated one, could he manage the other?

Got my email on the 4th of May. The email was not sent to me directly. The email was sent to ___@margeducation.co.uk and then i was sent a Blind Carbon Copy (BCC).


I mean, the email started with Dear applicant instead of my name.

Benue is one of the least developed states in Nigeria. I mean in 2000 they were still broadcasting in black and white TV. Probably moved to coloured TV between 2000-2001. Education is very poor so is healthcare. People still live in thatched houses in the capital. Most people in Nigeria are yet to hear about Benue as one of the states in Nigeria. No huge industry in Benue, thanks to Dangote who bought over the state owned cement and saved thousands of jobs.

Gov. Akume the previous governor was as useless as the current one. I wish they all die a slow and painful death.

If the number of Mr Biggs is used as yardstick to measure how well a state is doing economically. I think this is a good criteria, since Mr Biggs will only have branches in places that they can make profit. Can you believe that the whole of Benue has only one Mr Biggs which is in capital, Makurdi? Makurdi is a very big in terms of land mass. So it means the people there are really poor with little purchasing power.

I hope for change. The rest of the world are leaving Africa behind. Wonder how these leaders can sleep at night knowing that others go to bed hungry because of their corrupt practices.

I believe it is illegal in most developed countries to build fences this high! In fact in some countries you are not allowed fences as it spoils the beauty of the environment. I believe in Nigeria (some places in Abuja especially), you can are not allowed to build fences that high. Violating this instruction, would probably get a big red X on your fence.

The money will go back to the EU. I am sure there are strings attached like preference for EU power companies first before other companies. No one gives something totally free without expecting anything in return
