There are things that should be clarified.. 1. No matter how big a complex or a building is, if a doctor is not working there, that place can't ansa HOSPITAL.
2. Laboratory medicine, belongs to the doctor. Doctors who specialized in Lab Medicine are called PATHOLOGISTS. You don't expect a lab scientists to head a pathologist is his own lab. if u do then it's like allowing a stranger who doesn't know the tradition of ur people to lead u... That's an anomaly....
3.The doctor can not head the pharmacy store cos there are people who should head it & they are called PHARMACISTS. 4. In the same vain, an OPTOMETRIST can't head an opthalmologist, if it happens, it is anomalous.
5. A radiologist can't be headed by a radiographer.
All those services are provided in the hospital & the hospital is the home of a doctor. He has got no where to go than stay at home.
I see it strange when people clamor to come to a doctor's home to head him. except he so permit but I do not think he will allow that happen now, maybe later.
These things appear to be birthright by virtue of the training of a doctor.
All these people came & met this hierarchical pattern but want to turn things around because they feel they are populated & doctors are few.... If u know u do not want a doctor to head u in the lab , pls do not study any related course in the university.
PLS IF U THINK U CAN RUN A HOSPITAL WITHOUT A DOCTOR'S CERTIFICATE pls indicate let's reason |

Useless doctors that can't even do cs without killing either the baby, the mum or both. The only thing that is exclusively at their care(surgery) they can't do, yet they shout doctors as it's a big deal, am not part of the striking doctors but my course mates are, am currently studying genetic engineering in Canada because medicine is not challenging for me. I did a bch course with those medical students in school which the failed massively that forced their faculty to organize the course themselves for future students. Now tell me what's challenging about medicine. Nonsense Biochemistry can't be a challenge to any medical student. Quote me anywhere |

Ochek: Facebook Post by a JOHESu leader ISTH...
There was an accident of a group transiting to Auchi from Benin. They were rushed to our A/E at Irrua. There were no deaths, but minor bruises and cuts. But some have mandibular distortions and other degrees of fractures that may need some days in hospital and scans to be done. But they are all stable. We swung into action trying to call some of our nurses, and store officers and union members to go help out, we didn't really ask who they were initially, and we didn't want to argue while accident victims suffer. They are all there now helping with the treatment of the injured as it was very clear that the Doctors were helpless at a point. I have called the HOD of general stores to help with treatment items. The HOD of Pharmacy has been on ground helping with pharmaceuticals, the Nurses have arrived as their chairperson mandated and we have the situation under great control. After putting the anxiety to rest, we decided to really find out who the victims were and found out they are cleaners in UBTH not JOHESU members as being erroneously circulated in social media against the striking unions. A call to SSA chair, UBTH confirmed they are cleaners in UBTH & all outsourced staff and belong to no union in UBTH. Well, we are happy to relax our strike a bit for the injured and we are happy to prove that treatments are difficult without JOHESU members. We are also happy to prove that we have a largely humanitarian mindset. That's the summary of what happened. ...........JOHESU ISTH Do we also have cleaner's Union ?? were the cleaners going to meet with their union members in another teaching hospital?? You copied & posted this without asking yourself those questions. This goes to say that JOHESU members are liars. they will destroy their union by themselves. imagine the lie |

WesleyPepper: Lol..This is ridiculous !! Acetylcysteine is cysteine analogue with a longer half life.Your methionine is just another AA that can be used for the management of paracetamol toxicity.
What is the commonest route of administration of the N-acetylcysteine in clinical settings?
And after how many seconds, minutes or hours would your antidote be useless If you fail to act ?
What zone of hepatic lobule is the commonest site of liver damage due to acetaminophen toxicity ? And why is it the commonest site ?
What type of necrosis does it cause ?
Gimme the prognostic signs of the toxicity ?
And can you tell me about the symptoms, signs and management of fulminant hepatic failure ?
The above questions are definitely beyond the scope of your curriculum. My questions covered pharmacology, pathology and GI medicine ..
Keep calm and dispense my prescriptions quietly You want to kill the guy? someone who have no idea what histology is not to talk of Morbid Anatomy? That's absolutely beyond his scope. |

Because you saw the word chemistry, your empty brain told you it is a pharmaceutical chemistry question, or are you and your fellow 'I know all' doctors still asking and waiting on Google? No Nigerian will want to answer a doctor, even those with Pharm D are are qualified to take the title Drs will still tell you they are Pharmacists. They are proudly Pharmacist. Don't compare your one semester pharmacology with 4 years pharmacology (B. Pharm) or 5years pharmacology (Pharm. D) of a pharmacist. Health › Re: NMA Threatens To Embark On Strike If FG Yield To The Demands Of JOHESU by Freddonance(m): 8:42pm On May 18, 2018 |
bizme: Please correct that, it is not the same pharmacology. Pharmacology is not a field that anyone can study in one year. Medical students are made to take a small bite of different fields, and that small bite doesn't qualify them as authority in such fields. You were able to complete medical pharmacology in one year because you were taught a highly abbreviated pharmacology. Pharmacy students take each aspect of pharmacology one by one in infinitely greater detail, a detail that would make a medical student give up any day. This detail can only be understood by pharmacy students specifically because their training comprehensively equips them with all foundational subjects from which pharmacology derives; in particular medicinal chemistry, mathematics, biochemistry, pharmacognosy and even pharmaceutics. This is the same way that medical students are as it were brushed through biochemistry courses... They (medical students) take small bites, which don't qualify you or them to start parading themselves as experts in this and other fields. The phrase Jack of all trades readily comes to mind... And this is the very reason that pharmacists are placed in hospitals, to serve as the final check for doctors' prescriptions: because both your superiors and those that design the medical curricula know that you have sufficient knowledge of pharmacology and that the real experts on drugs and pharmacology (pharmacists) must vet and correct prescriptions before handing them to patients. In other words, cramming to pass negative-marking questions says nothing about intelligence. Let's not exult a defective educational system. Any secondary school drop-out with decent reading skills could be taught to cram the same pharmacology that you crammed and pour it down without necessarily understanding the foundational concepts. But approach any pharmacist, he/she would take you through a journey in pharmacology that you're not going to come across in medical pharmacology. No need for the argument. simply challenge him in pharmacology & see how u will be humbled. That's when u will know that every medical doctor knows much pharmacology than u do |

Jman06: Honestly, I hope they stop the unnecessary fights. But if they fail to stop, then they should be ready to start receiving a dose of their own medicine from other professionals in the healthcare team.
I think unlike those of us in Pharmacy who are taught to respect other healthcare professionals, Nigerian medical doctors obviously do not have such training. Rather they are trained to be disrespectful to others. Over the years, pharmacists have been keeping quiet and taking all their rubbish. That our quietude has been misconstrued for cowardice by the physicians, hence we have got to fight now!
All we are saying is that all healthcare professionals should be allowed to grow and not suppressed by the medical doctors. That is why JOHESU is on strike. Some people always spew nonsense thinking they are making sense.. Be ready, keep fighting them. funny enough, those doctors will not come to ur pharmacy to implore you to treat them but u will always meet them to treat u, by that time u will know who is & should be respected. ganging up against a particular group isn't an assurance of victory but a hope of the timid. Instead of thinking of how to create peaceful environment conducive enough for everyone in the hospital u are here wallowing in self pity. Doctors are not the problem of the health sector. JOHESU isn't either. the problem of the health sector is greed borned of out of hatred for doctors. |

However such grandstanding is not relevant to the discussion here. Most doctors are not cardiologists and have nothing to do with arrhythmias. The only relevance to the discussion would be how much does an arrhythmia patient bring into the business and how should that be shared.
