Important Advice for Nigerians Seeking Admission in Portugal If you're planning to study in Portugal, it's important to be clear about your reasons for wanting to go abroad. From my understanding, people usually fall into two categories: 1. *The "JAPA" Type*: People who see studying abroad as a way to leave Nigeria (JAPA) and seek better opportunities elsewhere. 2. *The Genuine Study Type*: People who truly want to study in a western country and are less focused on employment. If you're the *JAPA type*, I advise you to be cautious about the universities and regions you choose. Avoid schools located in areas with low employment rates, as this could limit your job opportunities once you're there. Focus on cities or states with higher employment rates, even if the tuition is a bit more expensive. If you're in the *second category*—someone who just wants to study and has a sponsor or doesn't need to work to support yourself—you can easily apply to any university of your choice, without worrying about job prospects. Portugal is a flexible country, and most universities allow you to pay your tuition in *installments*. If you're able to secure a good job, paying your fees and supporting yourself will be much easier. So, for those looking to JAPA, don't focus solely on cheap tuition—prioritize areas with strong employment opportunities, as that will help you in the long run. |

New Updates on Documents Authentication in MOFA The method of authentication of documents in federal ministry of foreign affairs in Abuja has change 1 you need to present your NINS or your data page or the data page of the passport of the person you want to help to authenticate his or her documents as means of identification. 2 you attach your passport photograph on the form you will be given to fill. 3 you will go to a cyber cafe to generate a remittal of the of the total amount of the number of document you want to pay (including the photocopies of the original ones from MOE) 4 if you are using your documents in countries like Egypt, Italy, Spain, that means you will be needing receipts which is part of the requirementsof such countries, you will go to the office in the first floor of foreign affairs building with your remittal receipt after collecting your authenticated documents to obtain the receipt that will be issued to you. Below are the samples of the new signature, most Countries are requesting the new signature from MOFA now, Countries like Russia, ltaly etc Some do send their visa applicants back to MOFA to obtain the new signature. |
