Pukkah: Let's assume there was no no crowd.

Let's agree the place was scanty.

However, they were physically present at the hotbed of insecurity.

Every discerning and fair-minded person will concede that these people have just scored a major political point.
Yes! they have scored a major political point only in the tribalist SW. Its funny how you losers always shift goal posts regularly to justify your fraudulently media loving governors. Oh its now for GEJ to visit Borno before you call him a good Prez. what difference will this visit of these charlatans called governors make to Borno? Will it stop Boko Haram there? In any case why did this again charlatans called governors wait until their personal ambitions through APC to visit Borno? Where they not in Nigeria all this while. Why are they bent on playing politics with boko haram? You should hide your head in shame.

babapupa: I don't get this weak and sule president. The people you rule and voted for you suffer and live with BH every day, but even with the whole of Nigerian military behind you, you are still to scared like a chicken to visit and sympathize with them.

Of what use are you as the president and commander in chief if a major chunk of the country is a no go area for you?

This dullard and colossal clown shouldn't be a class prefect talk less the president of any country..
can you provide us pics of obasanjos visit to odi? Thanks in advance eko fraud

Reptyle: You really need to stop pushing this harebrained excuse for the President's failure to show compassion to the people of Borno. Bush paid a visit to Iraq in "enormous secrecy." Let our President also pay an unscheduled visit to Borno in utmost secrecy.

Only a few days ago, the new Governor of Kaduna State paid a visit to Zangon Kataf amidst heightened security concerns stemming from the recent killings of some southern Kaduna Christians. The visit was top secret and was done with absolutely no fanfare so as not to attract undue attention. Amidst tight security, with no prior announcement and without sirens, the Muslim governor visited each of the bereaved families and consoled them. Most of them expressed shock and surprise at the visit and were genuinely touched with his compassion.

Inspite of the security situation in Borno, it is home to millions of NIGERIANS who are suffering under the yoke of Islamic extremists and often over zealous and trigger happy government troops. Mr. Jonathan owes them leadership and empathy at a time like this. Pls tell him to visit them...they are Nigerians too.
you want GEJ to visit the people of Borno and you want him to do it in utmost secrecy. Clap for yourself. You have just won the clown of the year. fvck off my posts.

Reptyle: Are you serious? If it was so easy to walk the streets of Maiduguri with a retinue of armed security as these Governors have done, Why does the President and "Commander in Chief" of the Nigerian armed forces not try it? Surely with absolute control over the armed forces, he can command all of the forces to volunteer deploy their best men and ordinances to Borno to guarantee his security while he visits and commiserates with indigenes of the state right?

The President's refusal to visit Borno for whatever reason will continue to haunt his administration and remain a sore point. There is absolutely no justification for that.
why should he go there? why? Don't we have Security chiefs again? Who is he going to meet?

dayokanu: Bush visited iraq during the heat of the war. So think up another retardeen excuse for Jonathans cowardice

http://www.nytimes.com/2003/11/27/international/27WIRE-BUSH.html

"President Bush flew into Baghdad today aboard Air Force One to have dinner with United States officials and a group of astonished American troops. "
I don't like when dubious characters with an IQ of a lizard quote my post. Here is the quote retardeen.

" [b]In a stunning mission conducted under enormous secrecy,[\b] President Bush flew into Baghdad today aboard Air Force One to have dinner with United States officials and a group of astonished American troops."

You left out the enormous Secrecy in your quote for obvious reasons fool. It wasn't even at the heat of the war meanwhile Sambo visited Maidugri so whats the big deal

ba7man: You're likely to find out the Nairalanders criticizing ACN or APC are from the Eastern part of Nigeria. They tend to support PDP because they have a larger followership and presence there. PDP has no presence in the West so we tend to lean toward ACN.
It seems you forgot so soon how PDP thrashed ACN in ondo? or is ondo not part of the SW again?

alex101: I had to come in here to correct the mindset that most of us have as Igbo. If your "wife" is afraid/weary of the word Biafra, then I think you should try and work on her psyche. This was exactly what I zeroed in on my manifesto on how the media brainwashes people to hate what is right. I even read where our own Afam4ever said he already dismissed Biafra_rep simply based on his user ID, but warmed up to him after reading his manifesto. UmuIgbo must learn to work on their psyche. I've not seen Yorubas get weary of OPC neither have I've seen Ijaw distance themselves from MEND.
some of them are married to Yoruba or Hausa so you wouldn't blame them efulefus.

manny4life: Afraid of what exactly?

Everyone's post reflects their votes and their intention, so what's the afraid all about?

No member of the electoral team has at any will to install Onlytruth as the Eze, please stop the accusations, it will not help us. The thought of even thinking let alone saying that we'll install Onlytruth is disheartening and in all honesty, I'm not pleased.
I apologize to you and 9ja I hail for that, I have deleted it. I only meant people like PointB!

Brother, even if your candidate (me) don't emerge the winner, I believe we can work with whoever emerges the winner. I have resolved to work with the eventual winner and I'd encourage us all to do so in the interest of Ndigbo. Thanks for your support.

PointB: Voting is still open.

Those eligible to vote should please cast their vote. The electoral committee will extend the election even if this thread hits the frontpage, unless the candidates unanimously agree to that, before time elapse.

Rather than mounting pressure at the committee, we advise you can and mobilise voters for your candidates. Until we hear from the candidates, we are staying true to the initial plan.
Fine at the bolded cool

manny4life: I've already quoted the Constitution for you - Eze Odumchi DOES NOT have sole powers to make election decisions, he has to do so with consultation of his cabinet pursuant to Section 3.7(c). However, since Eze doesn't have an active cabinet, the Constitutional Authority to make election decision doesn't hold.

This is how I interpret the Constitution.
and that is not how I interpret it. If he doesn't have a cabinet he still has the powers of the Cabinet. Are you telling us that his time in the office was null and void because he didn't appoint his cabinet. His cabinet. Can the cabinet be more powerful than the eze? Anyway am out.

django1: How is PDP a national party when they don't have any governor in the south west? It has to be anything but national party.
PDP has won elections in ALL states in Nigeria. Gubernatorial elections and Senate. Major elections. 90% of opposition are from pdp.

I say this because I guess you didn't understand why I said the election should be extended.
Politics › Re: Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland By-Election 2013 by FreeGlobe(f): 3:38pm On Mar 01, 2013
ugojamali: Eze Odumchi has no power to extend the voting just as president Jonathan has no constitutional power to dictate rules to inec. its a democracy. The electoral committee is the body with all the powers. We can all recommend to them but they take the final decisions. However if they err, the Eze can constitute a panel to look into the matter and sanction them if necessary. That's the way I understand it.
bla bla blah. I guess you don't understand these are two different constitutions you are referring to and you should not use the constitution of Nigeria to generalize every constitution? As long as odumchi is still in office (as generally agreed)and is not among the contestants, he has the right to move elections because of low turnout or fraud unless this particular constitution holds otherwise.

This election should be allowed to atleast run throughout the weekend.

So until GEJ goes to maidugri with the toughest security details and waves to the sky in an empty street or until he goes to meet boko haram face to face himself you wont be satisfied. manny4life: The nomination thread was pretty much about arguments, questions and answers, debate back and forth, voting, expressing both positive and negative thoughts, even those who engaged in bickering, fighting and what have you. The nomination thread was everything that gave birth to the final vote. You can't compare them sided by side, the voting thread was STRICTLY to cast your vote and nothing more. All other discussion was directed to the nomination thread. Give and take, a clean 6page of voting is something compared to 58 pages of everything culminated into a one thread.
lol... you are comparing 58 pages of everything to 6 pages of voting and discussions too. Tell me you are joking.

I see you have misplaced common sense for your so called verbal reasoning. APGA is an igbo party. The people's belief is the pointer. Just as ACN is a Yoruba party. I wont be responding to you again, if you are looking for someone to make empty arguments with, its def not me.

Ogbonaikenna: Compare 58 pages for the nomination thread with this(6). It just too poor. I would suggest we ask the 3 contestants first. If the 3 agree then we can shift it. We also need to move this to the front page.
Yes!

manny4life: There's no grand plan to coronate Onlytruth, all votes expressed on this thread are the sole intention of the voters. I do not posses a crystal ball in front of me to to change people mind nor have I explicitly supported any candidate.

The previous one made front page, however, I'll advice that you visit the previous page and perhaps the one before for clarification on 9ja_I_Hail's comment on the issue. Please, after you have done that, I can elaborate further.
I thought you people said odumchi is still eze until this election is concluded. Well, I agree. He has asked that the election be extended. Whether its a bad decision is nobody's business as he is exercising his powers and I believe you or pointb's decision does not override his as the eze.
Politics › Re: Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland By-Election 2013 by FreeGlobe(f): 2:28pm On Mar 01, 2013
manny4life: Unfortunately, the election cannot be extended at this time. I can pretty much tell you that given the time constraint on our hands, with less publicity, contrary to what some people think, we have enough votes as compared to last year. Although you vote is noted.
The election should hit the homepage before termination unless we will see it as a grand plan to coronate onlytruth. Afterall the previous thread made it to the homepage. If you put more pressure on the Mods, they would.

@op this alliance cannot bring change. OPC is not the Messiah we are waiting for. It is an alliance of strange bedfellows, an alliance of bigots with ulterior motives founded by elements who want to drag us all back into slavery by their Hausa masters.
We are open to opposition but not from APC or ACN that cannot manage their states rather busy enriching one garrison commander Tinubu.

Stop talking dust. Your opinion would only be valid if APGA had won gubernatorial elections outside the SE. APGA is an igbo party, ACN is a Yoruba party, CPC is an hausa party. PDP is a national party. Unless you want to continue living in deceit like you folks do.
