PoliticsWhat Do You Think Of Atiku's Planned Return To PDP? by freelance(op): 1:41am On Mar 07, 2009
Rumbling in PDP over Atiku's planned return

THERE is no doubt any more: Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President, is already perfecting plans to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

What is in doubt is a wholesome reception for him.

In addition to his hint that he was planning to return, friends, family members and political associates have confirmed to The Guardian that the plans are in top gear for Atiku to go back to the PDP with the sole aim of running for President still.

That ambition however is causing ripples within the party which otherwise would have wholeheartedly received him.

What do you think of Atiku's planned return to PDP?

Dating And Meet-up Zone8 Things To Never Do On A First Date by freelance(op): 4:38am On Mar 05, 2009
Ah, the first date -- you've been primping and plucking, and it's finally show time. After all that work you don't want to send them running for the hills because of something thoughtless you did at the table or in the car. Here are eight key guidelines on what to avoid,

"I Don't Valet" Sure, some people don't like to leave their cars in the hands of a valet. We get that. But if you've driven around the block more than three times and you're prepared to go an additional five until you find street parking (even if the spot is blocks away), quit while you're ahead. Avoiding the valet makes you look cheap and that's not a good look, especially on a first date.

Nix Your Ex Never go on about any of your exes. Obsessing over them makes you look insecure. And when's the last time someone found that attractive in a prospective mate? If you're still bruised over an ex or simply enjoy discussing old flames, spout off to a friend or family member -- anyone, but not that cutie who just asked you out for Friday night!

Texting, or answering your mobile phone for social purposes are big no-no's on a date. And please don't try to be sneaky or "polite" by attempting to text under the table. It's obnoxious. Ask yourself if you like the person you're with enough to leave your phone for a couple hours. If you still can't resist, go to the bathroom.

Don't Be Nosey No blowing your schnoz at the table. And you might think this goes without saying, but it doesn't: the same goes for picking your teeth. People do the most absent-minded and unattractive things on dates, so step it up a little bit. If you desperately need to take some hygienic action, simply excuse yourself and go to town some place else, just not at the table.

Play Nice Being rude to the wait staff is a major turn off. And please lay off of the snapping when you need your waiter's attention. It's always best to keep your cool -- nothing's more attractive than that.

Pass On The Pricey Stuff Ordering the 3 lb. lobster and filet dinner or the homemade pasta with a mound of freshly shaved white truffles is obnoxious no matter who's paying. Don't go for the gold. Show a little class by sticking with the moderately priced ticket items.

Booze It ‘Til You Lose It Just one drink too many and you may find yourself saying and doing things that make all of the above look like afternoon charm school. And even if you don't go crazy, you might do some over-sharing that you'll regret in the morning. So, never go overboard on alcohol -- it's a safety issue as well as an etiquette one.

Ditch The Dutch We may sound old-fashioned but when a guy asks a girl out, there's only one way to go on a first date when the bill arrives -- the guy pays. No matter how many times the woman offers to chip in, the answer is "thank you, but no." It's just the thing to do to make her feel special. And be clear. Wavering can be just as bad as accepting her money.

SportsOdegbami Appeals To Hitv Over Etim by freelance(op): 4:21am On Mar 05, 2009
A former international, Segun Odegbami, has appealed to the Chief Executive Officer of Entertainment Highway Limited, HiTV, Toyin Subair, to assist another former international, Etim Esin, in getting back his job at the company.

Esin had alleged earlier in the year that he was embarrassed at the Lagos home of his friend and former Bolton Wanderers skipper, Austin Okocha, when he and his wife were searched over a missing phone.

Esin was reportedly suspended by HiTV, where he analysed the Premier League and La Liga matches.

The clash between both former Super Eagles stars almost got to a head with Esin threatening legal action until the intervention of the Osile of Oke-Ona Oba Adedapo Tejuosho, who settled the duo on Thursday at the inauguration of Odegbami‘s International Sports Academy in Wasimi, Ogun State.

However, Odegbami said that the rift was a mere distraction to the country’s football and called on Subair to welcome back Esin.

He said, “The matter is settled but the only outstanding issue is Etim Esin getting back his job. We have appealed to Subair and we believe that soon the whole matter will be settled.

“The settlement means so much to me and the country and we don’t want to be distracted. We should be thinking of our teams doing well and our former players being role models but instead, we are focused on two of our great footballers fighting.”

Odegbami, a 1980 African Nations Cup winner, also called on the duo to imbibe the spirit of friendship.

He said, “Football is about friendship. My best friends are footballers like Christian Chukwu and the Okalla brothers. We met on the field. They are Igbo while I am Yoruba. We don’t share any tribal inclination.

“But thankfully both players (Esin and Okocha) are happy after the intervention of Kabiyesi and we hope Esin would fulfil all righteousness.”

PROVERBS 27:1 NIV
1 Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day
may bring forth.

Do what you need to do today.

Don't wait to receive Jesus. Don't put off doing the will of
God. Don't wait to tell someone you love them.

JAMES 4:13-15 NIV
13 Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to
this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and
make money."
14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is
your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and
then vanishes.
15 Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we
will live and do this or that."

You don't know what tomorrow holds -- or even if you will be
here tomorrow.

Keep your focus on God. Trust in Him, and do His will today.

SAY THIS: I will do what God leads me to do today.

RomanceWhy Do Couples Cheat On Each Other by freelance(op): 4:14am On Mar 04, 2009
I sometimes wonder why couples cheat on each other. You might feel it's only men that cheat but the truth is women also cheat. Everybody is guilty of the sin.

So why do you think cheat on each other all the time. cheesy wink

In one reported case in the UK, an online couple who found out they were cheating on each other by chatting with one another on an online dating site only to learn that it was their partner when they went to meet in person. As you can imagine, that story doesn't have a happy ending. The couple went on to divorce the other after accusing each other of being unfaithful.

This is a sad but true story that leaves us wondering why do couples cheat on each other? What would make a married man cheat on his dear wife and also a married woman cheat on her husband. Maybe why would be a guy cheat on his girlfriend and also the girlfriend cheat on the guy.

Why angry
