Back then, virginity in unmarried 20yr olds was common; now, it is rare. Everyone's ex is just a WhatsApp chat/Instagram/Twitter DM away, so faithfulness is far harder now.

It's also easier for women now than ever before. Back then, an unhappy married woman (whether due to lack of attention or financial lack in the home) had to bottle it up or weep silently. Now, she can upload a raunchy picture online and get male attention almost at an instant. So, you definitely have a point. However, like everything, there are exceptions.
