Jokes EtcJungle Justice by Freestyl(op): 6:37pm On Oct 19, 2006
Two men were trekking through the bush when they spotted a lion who looked both hungry and fast. One of the men reached into his pack and pulled out a pair of canvas. His friend looked at him.

''Do you really think those shoes are going to make you run faster than that lion?''

''I don't have to run faster than that lion,'' his friend replied. ''I just have to run faster than you.''

haha

PoliticsRe: State Of Emergency In Ekiti? by Freestyl(m): 6:07pm On Oct 19, 2006
I see no reason why u guys should be talking about this, the president did the right thing to maintain law and order  and above all for peace to raign in Ekiti.

The speaker did that for his own selfish interest. i mean he has no such legal rights to impeach the governor and his deputy to become the governor of the state.

The decision to impose a State of Emergency in Ekiti State was based on the collective desire to strengthen our democratic practice, institutions, and values. This decision would without doubt enhance security as well as protect the stability and corporate existence of our great nation for which many have died.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Which Is The Best Phone? by Freestyl(op): 12:32pm On Oct 17, 2006
Yeah i always love Nokia phones but their camera phones are too big and i dont like big phones. Mustay u said u have 5 audios & 2 videos on your L6, yes it may be true but that will happen only when you have no pictures( safe snaped pictures) in the phone.
Nairaland GeneralWhich Is The Best Phone? by Freestyl(op): 3:14pm On Oct 12, 2006
I need a phone but don't know which one is the best in market, atleast one that has the following features:
1. Infra-red
2. Blue Tooth
3. Camera
4. Recorder
5. Video Camara
6. Memory Card
7. Triangle Key

I was thinking of going for Motorola L6 but later discovered the phone has a low memory. The phone is very strong, portable and nice looking but the disadvantage of it is the low memory. It does not take up to four (4) videos and two (2) audio tracks stored in the memory. See below, the picture of Motorola L6.

Your Opinion is need here.

Which phone then do you advice me to go for?

My regards and keep me posted.

Poems For Review20 Naira Policeman by Freestyl(op): 6:38pm On Oct 10, 2006
Each day is a 20 Naira day

for the Nigerian Policeman,

each vehicle, a potential prey,

so break all the laws you can.

They stand at the corner of the street,

eyes roving, alert as a cat,

they are waiting with clenched teeth,

ready for all, whether lean or fat.

Make sure you have the 20 Naira note.

Fold lengthwise, slip between you fingers,

your left hand hanging from your window - afloat,

be quick about the financial transfer,

as if you just gave him a handshake

he'll look the other way and you're free

you have given him his piece of cake,

and you have your cup of tea.

Its no secret, its common knowledge:

"make una give am 20 Naira, make we go"

a passenger says as if it was the pledge.

I look in a wander, to and fro

if he'll give it, if he'll take it,

and quickly the exchange was made,

eyes read the mind, the mind reads the eyes,

daylight corruption - not in a shade.

Extortioners,

claiming to be looking for robbers,

trotting guns in full army gear,

asking "are you the owner of this car?"

They'll stop you if your car is new,

and if old, they'll think you're a runaway jaguda,

their case is a hot pot of stew

but 20 Naira gets you out, fast and clear.

At every 10 minute drive on the highway,

a roadblock - a 20 Naira toll gate,

going into greedy pockets, day by day,

The "friendly faces" are primary bait,

they'll charge you for what you never did,

a summary offence is what its called

when you refuse to pay the 20 Naira bail.

Conscience? where is their conscience,

as they put 20 Naira bribe food on the table,

pay their bills and send their children to school.

How will God bless those innocent kids,

reared with the 20 Naira bribe,

how can they become responsible citizens,

life father like son, like mother like daughter.

Its a shame, its a mystery

who will deliver us from this miry clay,

if you don't give, you'll be harassed,

if you do, just to save your neck

they are encouraged in their evil deed,

we are caught between a wall and a rock,

so why won't people break the law

when 20 Naira spells freedom.
Jokes EtcThree Pastors With Their Offerings by Freestyl(op): 6:32pm On Oct 10, 2006
Three Pastors - an Indian, an American and a Nigerian-were engaged in a discussion as to how they share the proceeds from offerings they recieved after each sunday service.

"I draw a big circle on the floor and toss all the money in the air", said the Indian Pastor "the notes and coins that fall within the circle is for God and the ones that fall outside it are mine".

The American Pastor said "Well, I draw a long line on the floor. The notes and coins that fall on the line are for God and the ones that fall out of the line are mine".

"Well in my own case" the Nigerian Pastor said, "I simply toss all the notes and coins in the air. The ones that God catches are his and the ones He allows to fall back to earth, He leaves for my own welfare.

What will you say if it were you turn?
Jokes EtcNaija Police @ Checkpoint by Freestyl(op): 6:26pm On Oct 10, 2006
A man was going around 1.00am alone in his car and got to a checkpoint.

The police man stopped him and asked for everything which he gave out.
The police had nothing to ask again, in order to charge him, guess what the police man said;

"I charge you for driving alone at this time of the day, if you come get accident now who go go tell your people?"

The man replied:
"I'm not alone, Jesus Christ is with me here, Angel Gabriel, Angel Rapheal, Angel Micheal and five angels are with me here."

The police man said:
"All these people inside this your small car? I charge you for overloading." haha
PoliticsNigerian Politicians And Their Performance by Freestyl(op): 6:23pm On Oct 10, 2006
Nigerian Politicians are in a class of their own. More often than not, they are thrown up by circumstances -of birth, wealth or association. When a man stumbles on wealth or finds himself in a family setting in which everything is guaranteed, he begins to think of capping it all with political power. At times it is friendship with an individual or membership of a group or society that serves as the springboard for a foray into a career in politics. Our own brand of politics makes nonsense of all theories in political science.

As creatures in a world of their own, our politicians coalesce to form political parties, not on the basis of shared convictions or philosophy but for the purpose of collaborating to appropriate what belongs to the commonwealth. They are in a special class because they can be likened to students conferred with the special privilege of setting their own examination questions. In their respective political parties, they draw up manifestoes encapsulating their principles and policies. The manifestoes prominently highlight their promises of a paradise on earth but diligently conceals their motives of opportunism. This is what explains our paradox of misery in abundance and conspicuous location within the dregs of humanity.

In other places, the manifesto, as a set of targets, represents a covenant with the electorate. The.attainment of these targets and the extent to which they impact on people’s lives determine the popularity and rating of the government. Sitting president Jimmy Carter was worsted by Ronald Reagan, his republican opponent in the 1980 presidential election because the American economy and quality of life had suffered a decline. Elder George Bush for the same reason failed in his second term bid in 1992 when he got walloped by Bill Clinton. Bush’s high acceptance rating during the gulf war one year earlier did not translate into votes for him when it mattered most. The yardstick for the determination of performance in America, Britain, Germany, France etc. is the quality of life which in turn depends on the state of the economy. Any attempt to compare Nigeria with any of these countries cannot but smack of naivety. Since they, however, constitute our paradigm of development and civilisation, we cannot but make occasional references to them while assessing our own state of affairs. Even if they have occasional hitches, the outcomes of their elections reflect their peoples’ choices. The sanctity of the ballot box is not violated as a matter of routine. A government that fails to keep its promise or meet the people’s expectations gets voted out of power because it is the people’s will that prevails. In their own clime and political culture, balloting does not take place before the election day. They do not have specialists in the art of fixing who determine election results before the D-day. What sells the candidate or political party to the electorate is the programme crafted for the improvement of the people’s welfare. It is not the consuming influence or overwhelming might of a political godfather, vested with the power to anoint, that determines electoral success.

What do you think about this poor performances and fake promises?
