TayserMahiri:The question l believe is, in how many kind of sports do Kenyans win medals? |
Nigerdeltaboi:Don't bother yourself with folks on nairaland, they know so little about their country. |
Cooly100:Lagos is safer than the Niger Delta when it comes to oil matter, and Ondo is an oil producing state. Lagos has also allowed him import equipments and other materials easily because of its location, besides there are two refineries in the Niger Delta already. |
feelgoodInc:why not Nigeria, even in the south east, investors are still coming |
feelgoodInc:The country has always been about to disintegrate but nothing happens, the disintegration is only on forums like nairaland. |
lordkush:Nigeria is way bigger and better than Ghana in terms of military, technology and capital market. |
feelgoodInc:No matter how they take their money to Ghana, Nigeria would always remain more favourable to investors than Ghana, because it is ten times the size of Ghananian economy. |
BroZuma:Both Francophone and Anglophone. |
These bloggers sef, this morning or Monday morning? |
BroZuma:In West Africa ![]() |
shervydman:Correct, that was the reason, but they also came up with the idea to make it an ideal city for good business along the way, l read this in the past from some of their answers to questions, the type of question asked by mtis, as to why it has to be built for the rich. It was an afterthought, but you are spot on about the initial purpose of Eko Atlantic, and the wall of Lagos built to protect the city and the lsland. |
bibinwaka:The Other room, any problem?? |
TayserMahiri:The problem is not with Buhari, the problem is with the constitution that doesn't address such a scenario properly. The constitution only allows for a transfer to the Vice president by a written letter to the National Assembly, and so he did just that and could hardly be faulted legally. But the protest by many Nigerians which had gone on for weeks was that morally speaking he should step down, and this has destabilized the nation this past few months, so you can imagine why the politicians and ministers are happy to be free at last from the protests of the masses. |
No way, we wouldn't take this, it's nothing but Photoshop. You can't fool us any more, we say Resume or Re.. But wait o, where is Fayose for crying out loud? |
mtis:The purpose of Eko Atlantic is to create a home for Nigerians in diaspora who would love to come settle and invest at home, as well as for other foreign investors. For this purpose, Eko Atlantic would have constant power supply and all that would make business run smoothly right at the heart of lagos, economic capital of west africa. Abuja may not have as many sky scrappers as Nairobi, but it is far from being less developed. |
DZTech1:This is the first time we are having such an investigation and it's under this Government, that's something to commend them for at least. |
You are late to the party, this is old news here already, posted more than 20 times. |
Deedeedee5:War is not same as mini crises with less casualties, in a war everything goes back to square one because there would be zero investments, you'll lose all you have built. I don't know what part of the country you live in, but l grew up amongst various tribes and we all saw ourselves as Nigerians. The tribalism on nairaland is totally different from my own experience and many others around me. |
NairobiWalker:
|
nobleblood:NIGERIA IS STILL NO 1 ECONOMY IN AFRICA, BUT IS THAT THE REALITY TO THE COMMON MAN |
nobleblood:No one economy in Africa doesn't tell the whole story though, but let me ask you, what country is Africa's no one economy at the moment? |
More Eko Atlantic..
|
Bloggers again? |
mtis:You are 90% right. South South is majorly the oil rich region, however the militants or Avengers are majorly the ljaws(by tribe) and they fight the Government because their land has been polluted by oil spills, they then destroy oil pipelines which reduce output, so as to get the attention of the federal Government. During the Obasanjo administration, they also kidnapped expatriates and sometimes attacked federal institutions in order to get the stubborn Obasanjo bargaining. Obasanjo however was hell bent on completely alienating them. The late Yar Adua took a completely different approach that guaranteed peace in the region for a while. Most of these avengers and militants fight for selfish reasons though. The core Northerners are strict Muslims and 12 states were allowed to practice sharia, but for a long time they unified themselves with the middle belt using the Hausa language, and so the southerners with little knowledge of the North, grouped the entire middle belt and North as one, they are all reffered to as Hausa by many Southerners, which is of course far from the truth. BokoHaram however is majorly based in the Sambisa Forest of Borno state. It is said that Sambisa forest alone is bigger than some states in Nigeria including Lagos(surprising ahn!). At the moment BokoHaram suicide bombers attack soft targets in Borno state blowing themselves up, with some parents giving their children out to be used as suicide bombers. I believe the war against BokoHaram in the North East should also include reorientation and a new ideology, because it seems the more we kill them the more they recruit from the populace and from Niger and Chad. |
WetinConsignMe:You dey mind dem? Recently there was a thread on the report from the U.S that Nigeria is the most dangerous place in the world for Christians to live, worse than the likes of Afghanistan, Syria,Saudi Arabia, etc. Now we all know this is not true, even if we are judging only based on nations with mixed religions, but you have to come see the nairalanders supporting it, simply because the report was used by the PDP as an attack on Buhari, others simply believed every report from the West is God's divine word. Now, l am no fan of either PDP or APC, and l am sympathetic to the plight of our Christian brothers in the North, but the title of that report was another clear Western media propaganda to scare their Christian audience as regards Nigeria, but to my utter disgust, Nairalanders here in a bid to prove their political points would rather aid the whites on this worthless slander of their country before the world! What a Shame. |
igbodefender:If the Governor is wise, he would also seek for help from Nigerians in diaspora experienced in the field, we can't leave it all to the Chinese. |
MadamExcellency:I am not in support of it. You have no answer to my question, so let's drop it. |
I would really like to see another African forum, l think SA should have something similar, Ethiopia also have the population for a large forum, but there may be certain restrictions for them l guess. |
MadamExcellency:My family can't be next because they wouldn't be involved in such(though l condemn the killings and sympathize with their loved ones) but in your desire to attack me illogically you missed the point... Why wasn't the cry this loud against Jonathan at least on thesame level as what we find against Buhari? Those who died under Jonathan's Government were also important and they had families too. |
this is unheard of in Zoogeria. |
This is why we should have working refineries and also have other major sources of revenue. Truth be told though, 2015/2016 was always going to be difficult, but Buhari's response to the economic challenge was initially slow with a few outlandish decisions to cap it all. |
This is one thing that has baffled me, l know under GEJ, many secessionists(MASSOBS) were killed, so why are they more personal with this present Government? |

Kenya has won more than three times that number in less time (91), not to mention that in the last Olympics you only managed a SINGLE bronze
Just stick to Football, at least you got the bronze from Football, all the other athletes were on tour.
