bro, in ma skul, we dont jux study linguistics, they term it linguistic and comm. We study d nitty gritty of languages, dia syntax, semantics, morphology, pragmatics, socio linguistics, we even do psychololinguistics, applied linguistics, language teachn and learning, language acquisatn etc coupled wit d comm aspect of it wia we do basicaly evrytin about comm, lyk d ethics, book publishn, advertising, rhetorics, radio, tv and film productn, script writn, pubic relatn and so on. Without specializn in any. Linguistics and comm is so broad, u can b helpn in design a buildn with d knwlege of acoustics, u can wok in a hospital wit ur knwlege of psychololinguistics, u can teach, u can wok in any area in any media houz with d knwledge u got tru d communicatn part of it. Itz a two in one course!

Trottle: Linguistics over mass comm? nah. Not in Nigeria and even beyond. To study mass communication nowadays, you have to be good with computers and some related devices and its job prospect is higher than linguistics.
