Even though I'm a born again Christian, i think we southern Christians are unnecessarily heating up the polity with this unpatriotic rejection of this new incorruptible CJN appointed by president Buhari. Muric and other Muslim organizations must stand up to defend this new CJN against the hypocrisy of we southern Christians. When GEJ suspended CBN governor Sanusi, we Christians laughed and said nothing to condemn the move all because he was exposing GEJ's corrupt government. Now Buhari has suspended this thief called onnoghen and every Christian is spilling thrash. We Christians are indeed a problem in this country. In my next life i will be a Muslim GoTV as much I am with you on this, many persons here will doubt your faith as a Christian because it seems you are the "odd" one out. goaldynboy: Though it is a step in the right direction. It is already too late for him! Nigerians has rejected Buhari
Those that will not vote Buhari in February 2019 Presidential election and their reasons:
1. Shitte Muslims because of the wanton and reckless massacre and incarceration of their members by Buhari government;
2. Reasonable Nigerians who can see that Buhari is taking Nigeria to nowhere. Instead of taking the country to Canaan, Buhari (Actually the Cabal) is taking Nigeria to the deepest dungeon in the farthest part of wilderness;
3. North Central States because Buhari has been protecting and defending Fulani Killer Herdsmen that has been killing them, raping them and Snatching their ancestral lands;
4. Southeast States because Buhari called them 5% and arrogantly marginalised them by by conspicuously neglecting their region. Buhari also massacred their sons when he transformed to python;
5. Southsouth States because Buhari called them 5% and refused to site a single federal project in the region. The abandoned Ogoni clean up comes to mind;
6. Reasonable Southwest individuals who wants the good and progress of Nigeria and does not ass lick Tinubu and can clearly see that Buhari is a yoyo being teleguided by a selfish cabal!
7. Reasonable Muslims who cherish the unity of Nigeria and have seen the divisive, clanish and nepotistic government of Buhari;
9. Over 9 Million youths that lost their jobs since 2015. To add salt to injury, Buhari insulted these youths by calling them lazy;
10. Nigerian women whom Buhari dispised and stubbornly refused to integrate into his government. Buhari also demeaned Nigerian women by blabbing that they belong to the kitchen and the other room!!
11. Real Christians who can see that Buhari's government emanated from the pit of hell! Rant from now till tomorrow it won't move a fly. Your hatred for Buhari won't stop him from winning God willing . |

Politics › Re: We Will Not Endorse Any Presidential Candidate - CAN President by Friend01(m): 10:48pm On Jan 23, 2019 |
exlinkleads: The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) will not endorse any presidential candidate in the forthcoming election, president of the group, Rev. Samson Ayokunle said. Ayokunle urged Nigerians to vote according to the leading of the Holy Spirit and their consciences, adding that credibility and integrity should guide their choice.
Ayokunle urged Nigerians to vote according to the leading of the Holy Spirit and their consciences, adding that credibility and integrity should guide their choice.
The Presidential election, along with National Assembly election will hold on 16 February.
CAN made its position known in a statement signed by Pastor Adebayo Oladeji, the Special Assistant, Media and Communications to the CAN president. Ayokunle said CAN is for God and His people and is apolitical, non-partisan and impartial.
“Our members cut across all political divides and some of them are even contesting for one post or the other including the Presidential. So, the idea of endorsing any candidate as favourite does not arise. “We have not and will not endorse any candidate for any elective office in the country,” he said.
CAN recently held a meeting with 14 Presidential Candidates in Abuja for briefings on their plans for the nation.Ayokunle said at the end of the meeting, the association came out with a position not to endorse any of the candidates.
The CAN president said the association recognises Nigeria’s multi-religious and multicultural composition and it is not in denial of these realities.
“However, in our federal system, it is crucial for all constituents to commit to respect the fundamental human rights of other groups as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution as amended. “It is against this background that CAN raise serious concerns with the candidates over the sustained violent attacks and persecution of the Church in Nigeria today.
“CAN understands that if the principle of good governance (transparency, accountability, equity, inclusiveness and consensus building) are the hallmarks of governance, it would lead to accelerated development and prosperity for the people of Nigeria. This is our sincere desire, hope and prayer,” he said.
He said that the expectation of CAN was that whoever emerges as president and vice-president would address the myriad of critical national concerns and challenges.
“In biblical times, God raised Prophets at different times to speak up against national leaders and policies that promoted injustice against the very people such leaders were called to serve. “God placed the responsibility of the security and welfare of the citizens on leaders of nations. Nigeria cannot be an exception,” he said.
The cleric said the association noted with encouragement that the candidates interviewed subscribed to its (CAN’s) values as expected of the President of the Federal Republic. He added that actions should speak far louder than words if anyone of them is elected.
“To this end, CAN will watch closely as the character of the presidential candidates unfolds before, during and after the forthcoming elections,” he said.
Ayokunle said that the Christian community is deeply concerned about the misfortunes that had befallen the Nigerian state in recent years.
“These concerns, which must never be swept under the carpet, make the strongest case for setting a standard for how responsible and well-meaning Nigerians should vote in the coming elections,” he stressed.
The CAN president urged all Christians to ensure they were in possession of their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC), and use sound judgment in voting. Ayokunle said that they should ensure that sentiments were eschewed and wisdom was applied in making the decision on the ballot paper.
“Let us be circumspect and discretional. Above all, let the Holy Spirit of God direct you in the voting. Think about the greater good of Nigeria, and not primordial sentiments. “All Christians are enjoined to remain vigilant during the voting exercise and promptly report any suspicious undertaking at voting centres,” he advised.
He urged all Christians to stay away from any violence or mob action, whatsoever, no matter the provocation.
“Decency, lawfulness and godliness should guide us in any act of disagreement”, he said.
The cleric said the choice of CAN remains any candidate who exhibits godliness, trustworthiness, sincerity of purpose, decency, patriotism, true commitment to national service and who would show care for the Christian community in the nation.
“Christians are called upon to vote credible and trusted candidates into the various elective positions. We must also be discerning about their policy and the understanding of policy details,” he said.

The immunity for Governors,deputy Governors,presidents and vice presidents does it not cover murder cases as well? Why are you been sentimental?
The presidency controls the police,EFCC,ICPC,CCT yet it is supposed to investigate the president's appointees and political allies.Why are you not also talking about that. This case is clearly not a case that can be referred to the NJC oga. can't you see the point? If he made an infraction in the process of carrying out his duties as a judge then the NJC can have a say in this, but he breached a law in the declarations of his asset has a public official which require a separate inquiry from the body he represents. If for instance,an engineer errs in let's say in the design of a building and it results in a collapse the building the parent body "COREN " will hold him responsible for his actions maybe by stripping him off his qualification has an engineer before he is handed over to the police for onward persecution; but if he murders, rapes or pilfers then his case is as good as the common criminal in the street. And you don't expect the CJN who is the chairman of the NJC to preside over his own case. Tell me how will he do it without him resigning from his seat? how? You people are just peddling undiluted ignorance which you can't sufficiently explain without ambiguity. I rest my case. |

He breached a civil law as a civil servant not as a judge which the NJC has jurisdiction over. So, for instance if a judicial officer commits an offence let's say murder: you mean he has to be brought before the NJC before he is taken to court?! Is this not the height of hypocrisy. You want him to be a judge in his own case? Ask yourself who will question him when they take his case to the NJC which he happens to be chairing the council. Abeg, the joke has gone too far. |

But if a job steals... The NJC has no business there.... If u can disprove the prof That prof is just being sentimental. The case of former appeal court judge Ninginwa is been used as the yardstick whereas they are total different. The CJN committed a civil crime by not declaring his asset; hence the case is not a case where the CJN committed an offence in carrying out his duties as a judicial official,he committed this offence outside the purview of his job. The substance of the case is that he committed an offence in breach of the law, that can not be referred to the NJC which he happens to be the chairman therefore, he can't be a judge in his own case. So, no matter the argument you try to bring up he clearly has to face the CCT . |
