To be honest, this and most Big projects in the North are funded by the Federal Govt and Buhari ensures that the money is made available immediately.

In the South, the projects suffer lack of funds, just look at the lagos Ibadan Express, in the last five years!

Not one single Federal Road had been completed in the South of Nigeria, under Buhari.
Its always about the North! Even the railway from Katsina to Niger republic will be finished before the Lagos -Ibadan one will be completed, if ever.

That is what happend when one has a tribal bigot for a President. undecided
Next Level SCAM

To be honest you're lying. Please point out a single completed federal government project in Kano since the inception of Buhari administration.

You're not even ashamed of yourself to lie on railway. The railway project has covered 3 Southwest states and not a single stone in the North (except the one Jonathan nearly completed. Talking about Abuja) and you're shamelessly lying that Katsina to Niger blablabla. Work in Ibadan to Kano is yet to commence let alone from Kano - Katsina - Niger Republic boader.

Politics / Facts: The Inscription On Naira Note Is Not Arabic Language by FriendNG: 10:58am On Jan 13, 2020
https://www.nairaland.com/5628397/reno-omokri-defends-arabic-naira

Historically Hausa language dosent have it own alphabet and still doesn't have one till today.

Hausa was first written using Arabic alphabet due to trade between the Arabs and the Hausa community.

The Arabic way of writing Hausa language is reffered to as Ajami (Any non-Arab language written in Arabic script)

As time goes on, Hausa borrowed English alphabet for writing. This makes Hausa a language with dual set of alphabets.

I was taught how to write Hausa in both the two borrowed alphabets (Arabic & English).

Now back to Naira note: Let's take 500 for example.

1. In English it's spelt as (Five Hundred Naira)

2. In Arabic It's ( خمسمائة نير - khamsa miata naira)

3. In Hausa Language using the english alphabets, it's written as (Naira Dari Biyar)

4. In Hausa Language using Arabic Alphabet it's written as
(نير طري بير )

Number 3 and 4 are both Hausa and not English or Arabic.

Although English & Arab can read number 3 and 4 respectively, but the fact is they will not understand the meaning.

Note: I write this not to please anyone but to educate those who wants to be enlighten. So if you're part of those that are blind and want to argue blindly then it's a wrong thread for you.

Politics / Border Closure Curbing Armed Banditry, Cattle Rustling In Northwest by FriendNG: 3:43pm On Dec 04, 2019
https://dailynigerian.com/border-closure-curbing-armed-banditry-cattle-rustling-in-northwest-lai-mohammed/

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has said the ongoing border closure in the country’s six geo-political zones has drastically reduced incidents of cattle rustling, kidnapping, armed banditry and other forms of insecurity in the North-West.

In a statement on Monday by Segun Adeyemi, the Special Assistant to the President on Media, said the minister stated this at the Customs Border Station in Magama Jibia, Katsina State

According to the statement, the minister led a Federal Government delegation on a visit to Sector Four (North-West) of the Border Drill, code-named ‘Exercise Swift Response’.

“The drill has drastically curtailed the inflow of arms and ammunition. Bandits and terrorists are finding it hard to procure arms and ammunition, hence we have recorded a reduction in cases of cattle rustling, kidnapping and armed banditry, which were predominant in the North-West Region,” he said.

Mr Mohammed said the arms and ammunition being used by violent extremists and criminal elements no longer make their way into the country through the land borders.

He also disclosed that the smuggling of petroleum products, which has also been prominent through the borders in the North-West, has been curtailed due to the closure of filling stations along the border.

“There are hundreds of filling stations along the border. We counted many as we drove to the border this morning. They were set up purposely for smuggling.

“They don’t sell the fuel consignment they receive to the public, plus 50% of them are owned by foreigners.

“Now that they are closed, we have recorded over 30% reduction in domestic fuel consumption,” the Minister said.

He said the Customs, which used to record about N4.5 billion as revenue daily, is now posting between N5 billion and N8 billion daily..

Mr Mohammed said the North-West Sector, out of the four sectors affected by the drill, has recorded the highest success in terms of reduction of illegal migration as a result of the closure of the borders.

He clarified that the exercise is not targeted at any region in the country, neither is it designed to cripple businesses in any part of the country as being insinuated in some quarters.

The minister said on the contrary, since the commencement of the exercise, local businesses across the country have continued to thrive as farmers and rice millers in particular are now having a high turnover on their investments.

Ganduje and el-Rufai are giving each other a run for their money don't be surprised if either of them decide to enter the contest for the most exulted office of Nigeria.

Ganduje was shown stuffing dollars in his agbada yet he's delivering on projects and prompt payment of salaries whereas some state governors are earning more but they have no projects to show for it.

Ganduje is not mate to Elrufai. People are just exaggerating Elrufai unnecessarily.

Agboriotejoye:

As to ur first question, that's what the masterplan says. The route starts from Lagos and terminates in Kano.

About rotating the presidency, you'll agree that the north have ruled Nigeria the most even if the population figures are a myth. It's no problem if you keep the presidency as long as it ensures that southern resources remain south and northern resources remain north.

Where on Earth the master plan says it should start from Lagos. Why not start from Kano and terminate at Lagos?

I ask where is your sense either. What's the problem if the maintenance engineers are from Daura. Or is Nigeria all about Yoruba and other part of the south.

Is Buhari elected to work for you guys alone. The last time I checked both the Yoruba and whatever region you hail from did not give him the highest votes. The Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, says the country stands the chance of developing technology in the next 10 years for the construction of rail lines without any foreign intervention.

Amaechi, in a statement in Abuja on Monday, said this was possible following the level of infrastructure being put in place in the rail sector by the Federal Government.

He said the ministry would ensure a systemic transfer and localisation of rail technology by the major Contractor, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), to qualified Nigerian engineers.

The minister reiterated that the Federal Government had just awarded a N500 million dollar contract to CCECC to supply rolling stocks, build locomotive and wagon factories in the country.

He said this would help facilitate and boost the eventual transfer and localisation of the technology.

According to Amaechi, when the Kajola Rail Wagon factory in Ogun begins full operations, CCECC will be able to assemble wagons and produce rolling stock locally.

He explained that the proposed Transportation University by the Federal Government in Daura, Katsina State, would produce transport experts who would be able to create rail technology and maintain the rail lines in the country.

“The wagon factory in Kajola, Ogun, in a way is localisation of railway technology but beyond that, by Dec. 2, we will lay the foundation of Transportation University which is being handled by CCECC.

President Muhammadu Buhari takes a train ride with the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi and the Minsiter of state for Aviation, Hadi Sarika.
”And the course of study at the university is to teach Nigerians railway technology, that is one step in localising the railway technology.
“We also intend to build the sleepers factory in Kaduna or Zaria, that is another way of localising the technology; so all we are trying to do is for the Chinese to transfer the technology back to Nigerians.
”This will ensure that in the next five years, maintenance of rail will be done by Nigerians and we are hoping that in the next 10 years, Nigeria should be able to construct its own rail lines,” Amaechi said.

On waterways security, Amaechi said the Federal Government had awarded a 195 million dollar contract to launch security equipment on the waters to protect vessels and those who use the waterways.
He said that a combined team of the Nigerian Army, the police, air force and navy were already undergoing some training on the use of the equipment.
Amaechi also reiterated President Muhammadu Buhari’s commitment to infrastructure development that would create numerous jobs and lift Nigerians from extreme poverty to prosperity.

Politics / Border Closure: Ghanaian Parliamentarian Laments by FriendNG: 12:34am On Nov 23, 2019
https://dailynigerian.com/border-closure-ghanaian-parliamentarian-laments/

A Ghanaian Parliamentarian, Clement Humado, has lamented the closure of Nigerian borders, saying it has been having negative effects on country’s economy.

Mr Humado spoke Friday while presenting Ghana’s report at the ongoing Second Ordinary Session of ECOWAS Parliament held in Abuja.

He said, “Another issue affecting Ghana’s trade with it’s neighbours in the sub region, is the closure of the Nigeria-Benin border in September 2019, several trucks from Ghana sending goods to Nigeria have been stranded at the Seme-Krake side of the border for over two months now.

” Similarly, Ghana trucks returning from Nigeria with goods cannot also cross the border.

“We believe Nigeria may have good reasons for taking such action but the measures infringe on the provisions of the ECOWAS Trade Liberation Scheme, ETLS.

“Whatever be the reason, the situation needs to be resolved as quickly as possible,” he said.

Mr Humado said that cyber-crime was a wave of criminality, which has hit Corporate businesses in Ghana, stating that internet fraud was at it peak.

“Cyber-crime is the next wave of criminality, which has hit corporate Ghana, online fraud is at the peak in many businesses, specifically in the banking sector.

“To stem and contain this growing menace, the government has set up a Commission tasked to train corporate Ghana to detect and prevent internet fraud and counterfeiting.

“The insecurity arising is from chieftaincy disputes, ethnic conflicts and land litigation remain an important source of conflicts in the North Eastern region of Ghana,” he said.

He, however, said that the government had deployed security forces to bring the conflict under control.

Politics / Senate Expresses Concern Over Child Trafficking by FriendNG: 2:05pm On Nov 15, 2019
The Senate on Wednesday expressed concern that a child slavery system could spring up if child trafficking is not checked.
The concern was raised after a motion was moved by Barau Jibrin (APC–Kano North).
Mr Jibrin told his colleagues that the need to check the growing rate of child trafficking has become important to prevent “destroying our future generation and negatively affecting the image of our country within the comity of nations.”
He noted that forced adoption, domestic service, prostitution and other forms of exploitative labour practices are among the reasons why children are trafficked across the country.
Following further debate on the motion, the red chamber mandated the committees on Women Affairs and Youth Development, as well as that of Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters to conduct an investigative hearing on child trafficking, proffer solutions, and submit their report within two weeks.
It also implored concerned agencies, responsible to “curb and eliminate child trafficking and trafficking in persons to be more effective in the discharge of their duties.”
State governments were advised to take proactive measures to protect children from trafficking.
A scourge

Already a Tier 2 country for trafficking, according to the 2019 U.S. State Department’s Trafficking In Persons Report, Nigeria is a source, transit and destination country for human trafficking.
The 2018 Global Slavery Index Report ranks Nigeria 32 among the 167 countries with the highest number of ‘slaves’. Specifically, it says 1,386,000 people live in modern slavery in the country.
The average age of persons trafficked as estimated by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) is 15.
The agency further states that of all trafficked persons, 75 per cent are across states, 23 per cent are trafficked within states and 2 per cent are trafficked outside the country.
A not-for-profit organisation, Pathfinders Justice Initiative, identifies extreme poverty, corruption, conflict, climate change/resulting migration and ‘western consumerism’ as factors responsible for trafficking in Nigeria
