CrimePolice Rescue 3 More Abducted Children In Delta - Call This Number (Pics) by FriendNG(op): 12:16pm On Nov 02, 2019
In an apparent crackdown against kidnapping in Anambra State, the state police command has rescued three more Abducted children.

Recall that in October 11, the Kano State Police Command had paraded a suspected gang of six Igbo kidnappers for allegedly abducting nine children and trafficking them to Anambra State.

The children were said to have been forcefully converted to Christianity.

However, today (Friday), the Police Public Relations Officer of Anambra command, Haruna Mohammed announced the rescue of three more children in a statement sent to DAILY NIGERIAN.

According to him, two boys and one girl were allegedly trafficked from Anambra to Delta states.

He said: The following children (2 boys and one girl) were allegedly trafficked in Anambra State and rescued in Delta State since June 2018.

“Anyone with useful information about the children should report at the nearest Police Station or contact PPRO Anambra State Police Command headquarters Awka through GSM no 08060970639, please.”

Although the police command did not reveal the identities and the state from which the children were kidnapped, insiders told DAILY NIGERIAN that the children are suspected to have been stolen from the Northern part of the country.

The source added that the kidnappers had already secured international passports for the children to be trafficked out of the country.

It is because of people like you and comments like yours that make people like the op go all out to prove these points that seem like justifying the incidents.

Just like you feel TRUE Christians cannot do this except the fanatics among them, that is how TRUE Muslims too won't condone or partake in such inhumanity.

The bottom line is that, the Creed's are perfect in their own right but the followers are not hence things like these come up.

So next time, when a post like this comes up indicting people of other faith than yours, don't rush to condemn their faith but rather the individuals. That way, if people of your faith commit such crimes, nobody will attack your faith rather, they will attack the perpetrators only.

The police have rescued twelve victims from an illegal spiritual healing centre at the Isheri Osun area of Ijegun in Lagos State.

The centre, called ”Blessings of Goodness Healing Church” is said to habour about twenty victims, some of whom have been in chains since 2014.

According to the police public relations officer in Lagos, Mr Bala Elkana, the chained victims are barely able to walk and had to be removed first, before law enforcement personnel evacuate the rest.

About a week ago, nineteen pregnant girls and babies were rescued from this area.

The victims, some of whom are between ages thirteen and twenty eight, were allegedly lured to Lagos with promises of jobs.

Politics9 Rescued Kano Children: CAN Weeps As Ganduje Inaugurates 16-man Commission by FriendNG(op): 8:06pm On Oct 31, 2019
The Kano State chapter chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Adeolu Adeyemo on Thursday wept over the nine rescued children, just as Governor Abdullahi Ganduje inaugurated the 16-man Commission of Inquiry to unravel the mystery behind the tragedy.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that after establishing protocol, the CAN chairman could not speak further as he was beside himself with emotions.

Our reporter, who was at the venue of the inauguration, reports that the Master of The Ceremony had to collect the microphone from the emotional CAN leader and comforted him back to his seat.

However, after a while ago, the CAN chair indicated his readiness to carry on with the speech.

In his speech, Mr Adeyemo said, “today I see the gravity of cruelty done to parents and children. This is a crime against humanity that God in the heaven condemns.

“I am touched. The church does not in any way and by any means support this act. Bible says, a child can never leave his parents until he reaches 13 years,” he stressed.

The CAN leader added: “This is indeed an evil deed that is punishable on the side of God. These people are not Christians because they do not represent the tenets of Christianity.”

The CAN chairman also expressed delight that the incident did not cause a crisis in the state, stressing that nobody kidnaps for Christ as He (Christ) does not recognize such.

Recall that on Friday, October 11, the Kano State Police Command had paraded a gang of six kidnappers for allegedly abducting, selling and forceful conversion to Christianity of nine children in Onitsha, Anambra State.

PoliticsWhat We Will Do If Border Closure Remains –Ghana Traders Union by FriendNG(op): 7:11pm On Oct 27, 2019
Clement Boateng is the National Organiser, Ghana Union of Traders Association. He speaks on the closure of Nigeria’s land borders and how it is affecting businesses in his country in this interview with ALEXANDER OKERE

Why did your organisation condemn the closure of land borders by the Nigerian government?

It (border closure) wasn’t a right decision because it infringes on the ECOWAS protocol. The foundation of the ECOWAS protocol is the free movement of people, goods and services. So, if for close to three months, the borders have been closed and people cannot move freely, goods cannot exit or enter, then it defeats the ECOWAS protocol. That was the reason our association issued a statement condemning the closure of the borders by the Nigerian authority.

How specifically has this affected Ghanaian traders?

It is not only Ghanaian traders that the closure has affected; it has affected almost all the ECOWAS countries that are using the borders – it affects Benin (Republic), Togo, Ivory Coast and Liberia. Our association issued that statement for the purpose of all the (affected) countries.

Have you received any response from the ECOWAS Commission over the closure?

We are amazed that the ECOWAS Commission has not said something or commented on the closure of the border. Before Nigeria closed its borders, it should have done some consultations with the countries that would be affected by the closure.

Are you saying no consultation was done?

No consultation was done before we realised that the borders were closed. We can even attest to the fact that Nigerians are complaining about the closure because Nigerian farmers cannot export their products.

One of the reasons given by the Nigerian government for the closure was the need to stop smuggling, promote trans-border security. What’s your reaction to that?

Well, if those were the reasons given for the closure of the borders, especially regarding security, I wouldn’t have much problem with that. But the manner the whole exercise was done wasn’t the best. We are worried about that. The Nigerian government should have informed other ECOWAS members, their security agencies, about the exercise it wanted to embark on to check security issues, rather than just closing the borders. Now, people’s goods that are perishable have gone bad and people have lost huge sums of money. I don’t think it is the best.

Can you quantify how much your members have lost since the closure?

I cannot quantify what we have lost. I cannot specifically say the amount that has been lost. But as far as I am concerned, we have lost a huge sum of money.

Can you list some of the goods from Ghana that have been affected?

Nigeria has something known as ECOWAS trade mobilisation scheme which means that all the 50-member states can send goods that are manufactured by each country to each country. But for three to four years, Nigeria banned 41 items which cannot be imported and the ECOWAS Commission is not saying anything. Some of the goods banned by Nigeria are poultry products, pharmaceuticals, textiles and furniture and I don’t think this is the best thing to do because one of the reasons for the establishment of ECOWAS is promote trade among the member-states with goods manufactured by them.

Nigeria had also alleged a breach of the ECOWAS protocol on transit demand by some neighbouring countries that tamper with the seals of transit containers from Nigeria. How would you respond to that?

Well, if there was a breach, Nigeria has every right to complain to the trade department of the ECOWAS to sort it out. Anything that breaches the sovereignty of a country within the ECOWAS commission must not be allowed.

Do you think Nigeria’s decision has any implication on its economy?

I don’t think the closure of the borders was the best thing to do because in September alone, Nigeria made about N115 billion, which which was a boost to its revenue. But Nigeria thinks the closure is good and wants to extend it to 2020, that’s why my association has complained and our government must talk with them (Nigeria). They (Nigeria) said they were going to open a special corridor for us to channel goods from Ghana going there and the other way round. But we want a total opening of the borders. However, if the special corridor is in the interim, I think we will take it like that.

Smuggling of illicit food items is a major problem affecting local economies. What has the Ghanaian Trade Union done to sanction its members who may be involved in smuggling?

As far as we are concerned, none of our members has been engaged in smuggling. I visited Nigeria twice or thrice in a year and no member of my association has been arrested for engaging in smuggling. I can say that Ghanaians don’t engage in smuggling.

How does the union intend to implement the proposed boycott of made-in-Nigeria products, according to the reported statement you issued?

I don’t know where that came from. Maybe one of my regions issued that statement. But as far as I am concerned, the national association has not come out with any statement of that nature. I will have to check from my regions. As far as the national (body) is concerned, we haven’t called for any boycott.

Why is your country not happy with the border closure?

The Ghanaian government is not happy and that was why, when we complained to the government, our foreign affairs minister had to quickly rush to Abuja to engage the Nigerian authorities. That resulted in an agreement that they will open a corridor for us. The Ghanaian government is working things out with the Nigerian government.

What has been the impact of the border closure on Ghanaian families?

The impact has been negative. We also have a number of Nigerians who are engaged in business in Ghana. They bring their goods from Nigeria to trade but they are all complaining. It is taking a negative toll on business and it is not only Ghanaians that are complaining.

What will your association or Ghanaians do if the current situation continues for a long time?

We are praying that it doesn’t continue. But if it continues, we will not have any option than to look somewhere else.

What exactly do you mean?

We can go anywhere. One of the reasons we are doing business with Nigeria is because it is close to us. Even if you are flying in, in 45 minutes, you are in Lagos; you can do your shopping and come back. If you go by bus, in eight or nine hours, you will be in Lagos. But if it comes to a point that the borders are not open and business cannot go on, we won’t have any other alternative than to go to Dubai or Europe and bring our goods from there. We may boycott Nigeria for Dubai and other countries if this continues.

Do you think Nigeria’s economic will feel the brunt in the long run?

It will. I belong to the spare parts industry and my business counterparts are complaining that they have not been making any sales since the closure of the border. So, in the long run, it is the Nigerian economy that will be affected because they (Nigerian traders) will not make sales to be able to pay their taxes or import goods so that the Nigerian government can generate revenue.

How best can African countries address the problems associated with trans-border trade?

The solution to the problem is for the authorities to open their borders and make their security agencies patrol the borders day and night to check smuggling. Those doing genuine business should be allowed to take their goods across the borders.

PoliticsFG Inaugurates Milk Collection Centre In Kano by FriendNG(op): 5:31pm On Oct 27, 2019
https://www.premiumtimesng.com/agriculture/agric-news/359652-fg-inaugurates-milk-collection-centre-in-kano.html

The federal government on Saturday inaugurated a mini milk collection centre in Tassa Village in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of Kano State.
Speaking at the event, the Minister of Agriculture, Sabo Nanono, said that the centre would alleviate the plight of milk sellers and improve their business.
Mr Nanono said ‎that the government would establish additional centres in other states of the federation in order to further improve the economic wellbeing of the people.
“Additional collection centres would be established in Gujungu and Ringim is Jigawa so as to get fresh and hygienic milk,” he said.
‎He further said that the federal government would establish Fulani settlements in order to settle the herdsmen in one place to eliminate herders/farmers clashes.
‎He said that the measure would also help to improve the business and economic life of the herders in the area.
The minister called on Fulanis in the state and other parts of the country to live in peace with farmers and other people in their host communities.
‎”I recently visited Bauchi and Gombe states on the issue‎ and the government is committed to the project,” he said.
Meanwhile, the minister who also visited Gezawa Commodity Exchange Market identified the provision of Quarantine and Produce Inspectors as one of the major problems facing the export market.
“We have a situation where exportable ‎commodities cannot be exported because of adulteration and misuse of fertiliser.
‎”We are thinking of having a Quarantine in Dawanau International Grains Market, the biggest grain market in African because about 75 per cent of export, commodities pass through the market.
“The quarantine will help us to overcome some of the problems and it will help in ensuring that standards are met in the market for export of our commodities ‎so that we avert this kind of problem affecting our operations and export,” he said.
In the area of extension workers, Mr Nanono said that there were only 14,000 agricultural extension service workers that attend to the needs of the huge number of farmers across the country.
He described the number as grossly inadequate to provide the necessary extension services support to no fewer than 70 million farmers in the country.
He said that the lack of adequate extension workers was one of the challenges bedevilling the nation’s agricultural sector.
The coordinator of the market, Bichang Binfa, said that the market had 432 shops and only two mega warehouses.
Mr Binfa said that the market would create direct job opportunity for 1,500 people and 20,000 indirect jobs.
He said that they employed at least 50 graduates of Agriculture for extension
services.
He also said that they developed over 3,000 cooperatives for no fewer than 80,000 farmers in the state.
He, therefore, appealed to the Federal Government to provide additional warehouses, silos, tractors and machines, among other facilities, in the market to enhance their business.

PoliticsBuhari Speaks On Abduction & Conversion Of Nine Kano Muslim Children by FriendNG(op): 1:15am On Oct 20, 2019
President Muhammadu Buhari has commended the Nigeria Police Force for the rescue of Kano children and fake correctional centers in Kaduna and Katsina states.

The president, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, in Abuja on Saturday, urged the police to sustain these good efforts across the country.

President Buhari, who was reacting to the incidents and arrests made by the police concerning the incidents, noted that such arrests were in line with his commitment to human rights and dignity of the citizens regardless of their age, religion and ethnicity.

He said he would not support criminality under any guise, including the abduction of children and selling them off illegally.

On torture chambers, in this day and age, the president maintained that no responsible democratic government would tolerate the existence of the torture chambers and physical abuses of inmates in the name of rehabilitation of the victims.

He, therefore, lauded the efforts of the police in exposing these human rights abuses by individuals and criminal groups.

He expressed optimism that these efforts would be sustained to check illegal activities of this nature.

The President appealed to members of the general public to remain vigilant and assist security agencies in crime prevention and control by reporting the existence of criminal activities around their communities.

He said: “The sharing of human intelligence is everybody’s responsibility in order to make our society safe and this government is ever committed to supporting the police to be more effective in the performance of its duties through proper funding and motivation of its personnel.”

https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/oruru-and-the-case-of-kano-9.html

The Nigerian media, NGOs, the human right organizations, CAN, the Islamic leaders are all silent about the case of the innocent children of 2 to 10 years who were abducted, transported and sold. These children were forcefully converted to Christianity, renamed with Igbo names without their consent.

Remember what took place when one Kura boy popularly called Yellow, fell in love with one Ese Oruru from Delta State?

The Nigerian media and all the social organizations of the South were out with their swords drawn and ready for war against what they saw as Islamization. Now the Christianization of Northern youths, who were forcefully taken away from their patents, culture, languages and religious values is not attracting the same response. NIREC didn’t call for emergency session to look for a way out, how to recover the remaining children and reunite them with their families or how to bring the culprits to book and stop such occurrence in the future.

Remember the incidents of the children of the Northeast, who were displaced due to the ongoing insurgency? Some Of them were taken to the South by Christian organizations and converted to Christianity. Nobody did anything. Only one or two articles appeared in a newspaper and that is all. This time around the case is the same. People are concentrating on none issues such as PMB’s fake marriage, Aisha Buhari and how to deny Buhari’s relatives their right to privacy.

Enough is enough. Let the Nigerian leadership fight hate.

It was zoned to SW, But Tambuwal contested and hijacked it from the Sw, using the north and the SE, even though the NW already has the VP, yet you didn't call the NW greedy? can you listen to yourself?
That's a different case entirely. It has nothing to do with party but national assembly politics. If tomorrow they decide they can vote both Senate President and Speaker from PDP instead of APC and you cannot do anything about it.

What I'm concern is that, the party itself is being selfish by zoning it to the Southwest. And that was planned by no other than the national leader Tinubu from the Southwest.
