okeyxyz: Sure, no problem. The question is; If good made everything good then why the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was not good? Then everything was not good was it? My second comment was alluding to the story of creation and Eve and Adam eating some fruit... Remember the tree of life was also there in the garden. Which, by the way, is the tree of life which if eaten, gave you life forever. When Jesus was asked for eternal life, he did not mentioned the tree of life at the garden but instead told the man to follow the commandments. So perhaps the story is not literal as in a real tree or real fruit. But a spiritual lesson instead. I believe Obidiah touched on it anyhow.... |

okeyxyz: ^^^ The issue here is the two mindsets\spirits at play: The one of God that says: all things, knowledge, principles created by God are good and fit for use by man, while the other(of the devil) says: some things are good and some things are evil(Therefore are prohibited). So Adam chose the second and we have seen the result of that since. You error is that you think this tree of the knowledge of good and evil is of god. This is what translates to the mindset that there are things in creation that have been banned by god and there are things allowed. This is not of God but of the devil and it translates to the Law of Moses. But as far as God is concerned: There is absolutely nothing in NATURE\UNIVERSE that is banned. Why are we sons(Gods) and inheritors(Gods) if we are afraid of common creations? Shouldn't these creations be subject to us?? So when it says that everything God made was good, then the writer was not being totally honest then? Also, do you really think that as a result of Adam the world is where it is? Adam lived 6,000 years ago or so according to the bible. If the tree of life was right there then why would God cast them out. Why would the Gods or God and whoever he was talking to feared they might eat from the tree of life? |

Quick questions...Why would a God say "be fruitful and multiply..." If the only way to do that is by sexual intercourse then punish them for doing his command? I'm not too sure if the tree or fruit of good and evil was a sexual act.... |

Since he could not have been of our same nature. It was interesting to hear the point of view. I never heard it framed that way before so I had to reason on it. Also, If Joseph had slept with her and got her pregnant, why would he want to put her away "secretly"? It would be in direct contradiction to the the above text saying Joseph was a "just man". What's your reasoning on this. I saw your post where you quoted the Gospel of the Holy Twelve by the way...It's a interesting take that seem to oppose the letter according to Matthew. However, when this topic is discussed with "pastors" that been in church for many years, some claim that they are not aware of it other give the standard response "man, those are not canonical books" "be careful" and so on... Another words, we don't want to reason over it. We are perfectly happy with what they tell us. "They said what we know is just, what they tell us..." I'll listen to the reasoning.... |

PAGAN 9JA:I would not say it was forced. Some people heard the gospel then accepted it as is. Perhaps it was forced on some but I don't think all. Garinagus always believed in God. Proof which Garinagus until this day call God Baba (Father). This was brought from Africa. It was not thought to us by no colonizer or no Christian. As this is strictly a Garifuna word for the Father. Forced Psychologically thou...that's another story. The Europeans told us that this Father has come to earth and his name is Jesus. And they had a book to back it up! He died for our sins so we don't have to go to hell...you are well read and know the rest. Christianity is a proselyting religion. Some of the people who spread it (I believe) are well intentioned. Thy really want you saved (according to their understanding). Some are in it for the gains. I just want it on record that it is not my opinion that Christianity was forced on Garinagus. I don't have the facts on that. I will look it up so I don't remain ignorant about this thou.
