Logicboy03: Why not see the bible for what it is; writings of ignorant jewish cavemen?Good point! Love thy neighbor as thyself. Mistake or not, does it not make sense? Keeping in mind that some one is sick in the mind, cultures which (in my opinion) harm a person and so on, those who love another usually want the best for them. It's the teaching you know. Give thanks. |
Interesting topic. If the animal has not consented to the act, then the act against the animal is wrong in my humble opinion. This include killing them for consumption, using them for testing and so forth. I have yet to meet any living breathing animal that volunteered it's life for someone else' consumption. They usually run away. If another person feels that there is nothing wrong with it then perhaps that person is free to do with the animal as they please, depending on culture, the country laws and regulations his conscience and so forth. If I hunt for animals to kill for food then I cannot complain when the animal hunts me and kills me for food. A dead man cannot complain. You get the point thou. That's my 2 cents. Give thanks! |
Lease: Did David hate God then? Exodus 20:5 "You must not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the fathers' sin, to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,..."Give thanks! I agree with you 110%. My aim is not to sin against the Highest but to pose questions to provoke thinking and reasoning among myself and the posters here. I share the the same sentiment that you posted. Thanks for the suggestion and advice. I'll take it. |
Was there justice for the child? I think this is the underlying question logicboy is trying to get at? So far what I see is justification for Yahweh's action. But no rational answers (in my opinion). Punish David by killing his son so David can suffer...come on. Makes sense from the suffering point of view but from a justice point of view, I'm not convinced. Did David hate God then? Exodus 20:5 "You must not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the fathers' sin, to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,..." Or Ezekiel 18:20 "The one who sins is the one who will die. The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them." Yet, earlier in Genesis God allowed the first son of Judah, Er to be born. Once he was wicked in God site then God killed him. What sin David's son could have possibly committed in SEVEN days that he deserved death?! If the killing of the child was for the greater good (if one wants to take this as literal anyway) because "we don't know Yahweh's ways" then let's conclude there is no such thing as evil. As what we consider evil is the goodness of Yahweh. Yahweh creates good and evil according to him. Not only that, we are just like him/them (the Gods) in knowing good and evil. So if a man wants to call this an evil act, what is the problem? Give thanks for the reasoning! |
I would say I cannot judge her. I made deliberate mistakes too. A lot of them more than once! But she in her own conscience, if she feels she was wrong then she should change her ways. Give thanks. |
mumumugu: GOD HAD BLESSED. David.david sinned. All sin deserve punishment. God had sworn not to punish david. He decided to punish the son knowing grief wil afect him.Did David hate God then? With this in mind, what's your take on these two verses? Just reasoning... Give thanks! |
Logicboy03: I wonder why a loving God will kill a child for the father's sins. David killed somebody and committed adultery with the person's wife. Instead of God to punish David, he killed David's son.Good question: My thoughts are that the death of the child was attributed to their God, Yahweh. If that story is taken literally anyway. BUT, let's take the tsunami some years ago. Some people attributed it to God also. How do they know it was God that caused it? I mean, why would a God kill innocent children right? I'm just making the comparison that just like Nathan predicted and attributed the death of the child to Yahweh, the same way people attribute the tsunami to God. I'm assuming you posed the question because there is no point in killing an innocent child for the sins of his parents. I agree with this sentiment. However, I think the underlying point to your question is that that act in itself it "evil" or "unjustified". Which seems that way to me too. I know you believe Yahweh is a monster. He/it could very well be if we believe him to be real. He personally admits to causing good and evil (Isaiah 45:7) I have more but maybe someone can shed more light on this. Good reasoning still. Give thanks! |
ninja4life: U cannot understand d things of d spirit without d holy ghost so go for it to teach u waht u donot understand.kIf you have "d spirit or holy ghost" please teach us. |
Boomark: He told you a plain truth. "Being a catholic does not MEAN you are a Christian."I will say that the whole of Central and South America will disagree with you. The majority are Catholics and to them to be a Catholic is to be a Christian. I might be wrong but is not Catholicism another denomination of Christianity? Thanks in advance. |
ayenny02: According to Muslim belief:If Islam is the only religion with God, maybe you can shed light why Jesus did not mentioned Islam in the bible? When you say "continuation" do you mean that it was established at some point then discontinued? Or Or a continuation as in the previous religions were false, counterfeit or incorrect, therefore needing correction toward perfection. |
Ramtzy: Jesus that was never married how could he have said so, stop quoting him out context... Plz quote a verse in the Quran whereI'm a bit confused here, was not Quran dictated from Allah to Muhammed? If so, are not the words of Muhammed that of Allah then? I'm not too verse on the Quran but maybe you can explain this verse: 2:191 And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al- Haram until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers. I'm not too sure if the Quran is talking about the infidels, but I'm not too sure if the Christians are consider infidels in the Quran. Maybe you can clarify. Thanks in advance. |
ayenny02: CHALLENGING VERSES IN QURANWhat is the challenge here? |
manmacho: What u love is Islam not my saviour Jesus Out of curiosity, how do you know what another person loves? If it makes sense to me, then I can used that type of discerning. Thanks in advance. |
bilms: Your action toward events has nothing to do with love. Because a Pakistani killed someone who insulted Prophet Muhammed doesn't signify love for him, it only shows the passion of such people which exclude reason and the teaching of the man they claimed to love. Did Muhammed during his life allow anyone to hurt or kill people that insulted him? No. He instead show them love which made many later embrace him. So, killing persons for insulting Prophet Muhammed is against Islam, it is against the teaching of Prophet Muhammed and against love. Love in this regard simple mean, adore, respect and embrace the teachings of Jesus.I agree with you in some reagrd. I mentioned it because they say they do this out of the love for the their prophet. To you and I it might not be love but to them it is. In any event, I understand where you are coming from and now that you have clarified "love in this regard" then it is difficult to say because a Muslim can adore, respect and embrace the (some) teachings of both Muhammed and of Jesus. But as a general rule, many Christians don't adhere to prophet Muhammed teachings as many of them have not read the Quran or even heard of the Quran. In fact, most do not want to come near it and have negative views of Muhammed. With all the above said, I think it is safe to say the Christians love Jesus more. Give thanks! |
Pastor AIO: Yeah, you're right there. It is masoretic with certain key words essential to christians doctrine kept intact for obvious reasons (there were quite a few 'main conflict texts'). The biggest difference would be the exclusion of books that are in the septuagint such as Sirach and Maccabees etc. . . Interesting stuff man. Sirach is a great book! |
Logicboy03: Why do you like blueAh ha ha...Blue is an easier contrast for me to read on the background color. I tired Red and other colors but Blue looked better. I understand how strongly you feel on this issue man. Trust me. But keep an open mind man, some rough street cats have also turned their life round towards good because of Christianity. Good reasoning still, give thanks! |
Logicboy03: You reasoned wrong then. This is because Yahweh is a monster. A psychopathic monster if he is as truly as described in the bible....sending plagues, flooding the earth, ordering genocides and last but not least, sending his son to die on the cross like a sacrificial lamb.Where did I say Yahweh was not a monster? Where did Yahweh say "he would send his son to die on the cross like a sacrificial lamb" Please tell me, I miss thing sometimes. God could have forgiven man's sins without Jesus. I agree. Guy, I quoted Jesus words and the reason he came, according to the John at least. Must there be death before forgiveness? No. I have committed grave offenses and was forgiven for it. Nobody killed me. Well, at least not yet. |
bilms: ?That's right...I need a definition of what you consider love. For example, In Pakistan, if you disrespect the prophet Muhammad. You deserve death. I think they do this out of love for their prophet. But does not every man have command of his own tongue? Or it could be as simple as one loving Jesus and Muhammad equally where out of love one simply ignores the insults, as word alone cannot harm a confident man. Maybe I clarified? |
Logicboy03: What was his mission on earth? To die for mankind to appease Yahweh to forgive mankind of their sins. What was his mission on earth? To die for mankind to appease Yahweh to forgive mankind of their sins. I don't think so. This is Christian teaching. But I assume you yourself don't believe it. I don't neither. If the God wants to forgive, he simply forgives. "...For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you..." Imagine I had to kill my son for the trespasses of my brother? It would not make sense right? Specially if my son is innocent! I heard a kid from Ethiopia tell his story on the radio...I'll make it short: The kid's older brother got into a fight with his neighbor and killed him. I don't remember if it was an accident or not. Anyway, in that society the neighbor family has the right to kill one of the other family son (a brother). Eye for an eye kind of thing. My question is: What father will send one of his innocent son to the death? Specially if he knows that the son in the fight is prone to violence. It will be foolish because sometime later the brother would get into another fight. Rendering the death of his innocent brother of no use. Now the father just committed and injustice by the way! Jesus said why he came for: "... I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly..." I don't recall Jesus saying "I am come as a sacrifice to appease Yahweh" That is my reasoning on the matter. |
I'm not too sure if this question was in wisdom. If you read the bible, God also commanded the slaughter of men, women and children. Presuming Allah and Yahweh are not the same, is one more justified than the other? But what if they are the same then it's old testament all over again, but in the 21st century. Anyhow, I think the comforter is wisdom. To some is Allah to some Muhammad to some money and to some the .45 Give thanks! |
God's chosen religion? Religion is man made out of his own imagination. That's just my opinion. |
If they want to. If they don't, they don't have to. Give thanks! |
bilms: WHO LOVE JESUS(PROPHET ISA) MORE, Muslims or Christians? Having express my unquantifiable love as a Muslim for Jesus(prophet Isa) in the course of a discussion, a xtian friend said, i am just watching your mouth as you speak about our lord Jesus so dearly, but provided you are a muslim who do not believe Jesus to be a son of God, you can't love Jesus more than a Christian. So add your voice, between xtian and Muslim, who love Jesus more and why? When you say who loves Jesus more, what do you mean by "love"? |
Logicboy03: Good....I agree with most part but two problems How was Jesus a sacrifice? Thanks in advance. |
CrazyMan: Good evening my fellow christians, please I've been pondering this question for a while now, I felt I should share it with the house. I will address your first question: We have to read books to pass exams... Quick question...where are you expecting God to come from? Its called pressure. The fact that passing or failing that exam creates anxiety which brings forth emotional responses. If you pass you might get the job, move to the next level or grade and so on. BUT if you fail then opposite might happen. Do you wonder why one does not feel that way when writing a note to a love one? Your son or daughter or mom and so on. That's right, there is no pressure. Words, whatever the language are to communicate. That's all. All else is external pressure. The God is in the deed and the mastery of this communication. Hopefully for a good purpose. Give thanks! |
PAGAN 9JA: I understand. |
mastercee: A man may marry his brother's widowA lot of possible contradictions. I'll address the one in red: Deut 25:5--In the event a of brothers that live together and one dies. It is allowed. Lev 20:21--Presumably the other brother is still alive. One brother is sneaking around with the other brother wife. Not cool and not allowed. That is my understanding. |
dont8: Go to school of theology and get understanding and the wisdom to interpret theDid you go to theology school? If yes, can you teach us by picking one of the these alleged contradictions and interpret them with understanding and wisdom that you were thought in theology school. |
larrymoore: According to the bible, some people would be denied salvation. The truth be told, not everyone, irrespective of your devotion would enter eternal glory.so what next if Jesus says'I don't know you'.The Christ, is the way. Find it! and hold on to it. Then you don't have to worry about that. |
I don't know what to say. Please, no more bloodshed. |
Does your religion allow you to slap anyone for no cause at all? Will you agree that any religion or a way of life that teaches a man to slap another for no reason is a religion or way of life of violence? You are right, the pastor has no right to retaliate. But if you slap another man for no reason, you have committed a grave offense against the man and yourself. The Highest is justice. If the Christ has said to turn the other cheek, have you thought why? Let's examine: From the moment I raise my hand against another man without cause I have committed an injustice against that man. Now, let's say you and I adhere to that teaching (that we should not commit injustices against each other, nor slap each other) then no reason for any of us to slap each other. We both have to guard against committing an injustice against each other, so there is no reason created. I'm curious to your thoughts on this reasoning. Is this the reasoning of a donkey? Give thanks! |
Pastor Olu T: Yes you are right there are many xtians with good heart and faith with ailments that do not receive their healing, there are so many other factors responsible for that. I understand. I said not yet because I believe it is possible. We have not seen it yet (at least not me) but it will happen, I believe. We see branches of trees grow back and we do not think any of it. Yet they require no doctors. Give thanks Pastor! |
