oayombo: Haba, he was just responding to the specs sheet..you don't need to own a phone to know what it does. The specifications are available online, even for yet to be released phones.
Coming to your fellow java phone user's aid, abi? Stop defending your actions by reeling out the merits, then backing it up by saying you read it from the web.
Just admit that you bought one thinking it's S60 phones only to discover it's a mere java. And now consoling yourselves by pointing out the crappy merits!

zibitu: what is the difference btw a symbian phone and a java phone
Java phones can only accept java enabled or supported applications, while symbian phones can accept both java and symbian enabled apps.
Symbians have more RAM memory which make it faster and more powerful than Java phones.
The asha 311 has 3G, capacitive touchscreen, 128mb ram, 3.2mp camera, proximity sensor and the java os is an upgrade to d old java we are used to. And look! It also has usb-on-the-go(which means u can connect ur flash directly to it and transfer files). What else do u want in a LOW-BUDGET fone?
You are talking as if you 'd already bought one. SMH.
What a pity.
Phones › Re: Nokia Asha - Cheap Touchscreen Phones - Launched by Frostyzone(m): 11:49am On Jun 07, 2012
Nice looking phone. But they destroyed it by making it a java phone. Seriously?!
At this time and age, whoever wants to operate a java phone when their are Android, Symbian, Windows, iphone models lying about?
I 'd rather spend 40k and buy me a serious qwerty keyboard phone with sound OS, than spending half of the money on a more elegant looking, touch screen model with inferrior OS.
Bottomline: That phone is already a flop. Another Nokian mistake.

2buff: Lol dude, I laugh when I read this. You don't seem to know what you're talking about.
Limited apps? You realize it's the ANDROID were talking about right? And that all Samsung did is build the hardware right?
If you wanna diss Samsung diss Samsung, but when you start dissing the android then it's clear you're just talking out of ignorance.

Apps are based on independent developers making software for the app market. As I am one of the and have made apps for both, I can tell you that the iOS is extremely limited.
Let me know when your iPhone starts supporting flash, or when they finally deliver y'all from the torment of having to type one darn letter at a time (instead of just using Swype or it's many neural-net keyboard alternatives available on te market), or in fact, let me know when your apple allows you to use your phone as a portable file storage, and when they finally let you put whatever music you want on the darn thing without that slow bulky iTunes nonsense.

Many other disabilities of the ios, but you get the gist...
Dude, it's obvious from your tirade that you are one of the Samsung fanboys. Which is synonymous to been full of B.S!
Android's app can never compare with iphone's when it comes to that. And when I said ''limited apps'' I was talking about quality as well as numbers. I played PES 2012 yesterday on both platform, and bro sincerely speaking, iphone beat the c.rap out of Samsung(super pretender)
As for swype that you boast so much about, who cares?? If I could type fast enough with the virtual keyboard, why in the blue moon would I want to use swype mode anymorehuh
Dude, Android has a great OS, don't get me wrong, but when stacked against iOS...it's hopeless.
About the iTunes, I'm okay with it. It may be slow, bulky and other what-nots but atleast it delivers. I don't have to surf the internet looking for a free mp3 site like you Android users do.
I'm not ignorant bro, I'm just saying it as I see it.
Phones › Re: Samsung Launches Galaxy S3 by Frostyzone(m): 2:48pm On May 29, 2012
I'm of the opinion that iphone is still a platform to beat. Their OS is superbly fast, design sleek and elegant as well as durable. Applications too numerous to choose from.
Andriod Samsung on the other is just a pretender that is currently making waves because it knows it will not last. Limited apps, inferrior casing material, but to name a few.
Buy Samsung S3 at your own peril.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Barca Line Up Drogba. by Frostyzone(op): 3:26pm On May 16, 2012
BARCELONA are eyeing up a move to
nab Didier Drogba on a free transfer
from Chelsea.
The Spanish giants want to offer
Drogba, 34, a two-year deal worth up
to £5million a season to quit Chelsea
and snub a move to China, Milan or the
USA.
Chelsea have also offered the striker a
new two-year deal with owner Roman
Abramovich pulling out all the stops to
keep him.
But Drogba is out of contract and
could quit the Blues after the
Champions League final on Saturday.
Though a move to Shanghai FC could
be far more lucrative, the lure of
playing alongside Lionel Messi and Co
could prove irresistible for the Ivory
Coast star.
A Barcelona source confirmed: “What
the team needs is an attacking player
who has the presence and strength to
trouble defenders.
“Drogba has that profile and is one of
the players the club are looking at.”
Drogba has spent eight seasons at
Stamford Bridge but new boss Tito
Vilanova, who will succeed Pep
Guardiola after the Copa Del Rey final
against Athletic Bilbao next week,
wants a world-class striker as cover
for David Villa.
The Spain superstar missed most of
this season with a broken foot but will
be fit for next season.
Italian giants AC Milan, who have
wanted Drogba for years, were also in
touch to declare their interest just after
Chelsea beat Barcelona in the
Champions League semi-final.
Nairaland General › Re: Complaint About The EXCESS TRIBALISM On NAIRALAND by Frostyzone(op): 10:51am On May 16, 2012
Goodyman: I believe that the essence of having a forum like Nairaland is to build bridges across the entire length and breadth of this great country, Nigeria. It is also an opportunity to bring like minds together on issues that will benefit the forum members. Tribalism in all its ramifications should, therefore, be avoided. What makes a forum interesting is contributing robust posts that will be of help to one another and build trust among ourselves and I pray we all change our attitude and make Nairaland an enviable Forum.
Well said my brother.
Nairaland General › Complaint About The EXCESS TRIBALISM On NAIRALAND by Frostyzone(op): 9:14am On May 16, 2012
Hello, everyone. When a friend introduced this forum to me I was expecting it to be a bridge that bind all Nigerians living all over the world together. An avenue to share news and interract amicably like brothers and sisters.

Instead after signing up, I experienced first hand such shocking tribal hatred among the members. Almost all the threads were filled with tribal bashing to the extent that I found it next to impossible to post comments anymore.

I don't want to name names but most of the worst offenders seems to come from the s/western part of the country, and as a s/westerner myself I found it both embarassing and enraging. We as a tribe are not known for tribalism, so it annoys me to see some individuals in this forum spoiling our good names.

Also, the members from s/eastern part of the country are frequently terribly vulgar as well. Usually, you see one abusing the religion, tribe and way of life of another member's.

This is definitely not what I signed up for. So I'm sincerely appealing to Seun and others that run this forum to find an effective way to make it respectable again.

Thanks.

Better to be diplomatic than to be hostile.
Nothing good ever comes from fighting fire with fire.
The Northerners are now known largely as terrorist because of B.H threat around there. And that's how foreigners will view that as well.
Should we emulate the north and be hostile just so the Ibos will stop seeing us as cowards.
The answer is a Loud NO ofcourse! Better to be a coward than to impede your dignity and integrity trying to prove you re the superior tribe.
Diplomacy works my brother. Without diplomacy there would have been no Nigeria!

Hey guys, we are all brothers in Nigeria no matter what tribe you came from.
Whether you re Yoruba,Igbo,Hausa,Ijaw, etc let's shelf our differences and live in peace.
Everytime I entered a thread, no matter the topic the thread always have a way of transforming into a tribal hate bashing.
It's either Christian vs Muslims, or Yorubas vs Igbos.
Yes,I agree as a yoruba man that our tribe is one of the most accomodating in Nigeria but can't we just leave it as that without deviating from the original topic, huh?
In Deutchland(Germany), turkish race, bosnian, slovakian form a huge part of the population but you don't see the host(Germans) trading insults with them or discriminating against them. That's how things are done in civilised places.
So to my Yoruba brothers, let us try to behave like good host abeg.
If you are insulted by a fellow Nairalander, just ignore the fellow and continue with your thread. Don't give him/her the satisfaction of derailing it.
That's how things are done.

It's acting alright but the fightings were real and so were the stunts because they do get injured for real.
According to wikipedia they are all actors/wrestlers and the result of a match is pre-determined(fixed).
But it's still fun to watch for the hardcore fans. Afterall it's all about entertainment.

nkem Kalu: I want to correct the impression that KOFFI KINGSTON of Ghana is the only AFRICAN in WWE. This is wrong. There is JUSTIN GABRIEL from South Africa and BOOKER T from Cameron, though he is now an AFRICAN AMERICAN. Same with R-Truth, EZIKIEL JACKSON......all are AFRICANS but have naturalized in America....just like AKEEM OLAJUNWO of NIGERIA in BASKET BALL (NBA) is now called an American.
I never said that Koffi Kingston was the only african in W.W.E.
I said that he was the only one representing us.
Those other ones you mentioned would tell you they are americans and that's it.
And don't be suprised that none grew up in their native country and thus can rightly tag themselves as been Americans.
That's why Gabriels will never come out publicly and states that he's from S.Africa because it's not good for his business reputation.

innocent82: Plz friends, ΐ want to be a wwe superstar, can someone tell me what to do.......it has been my dream to be ḁ̊ wwe superstar.......thanks friends
I'm gonna be blunt with you friend:Forget it.
W.W.E don't just hire people out of the blue. Inother to have a prayer of performing there one day,you need to start building up your c.v among other things.
And when I say C.V I mean good records like numerous victories and amateur titles. They have to see you as someone with huge potential(like a good investment)
Another important thing is this:you need to have an high average tolerance to pain because professional wrestling is a game of pain. And you 're required to be a risk taker as well. Last but not the least you need to be in outstanding physical shape.
If you can pull all this pointers off, then the sky is your limit.
But realistically it's next to impossible because apart from all that you 're a foreigner.
Why do you think that there ain't a single Nigerian Wrestler in W.W.E presently?
The only one representing africa at the moment is Koffi Kingston who is supposedly Ghanaian but realistically American from jamaican extraction.
You can have a shot at other minor wrestling establishment scattered around the States but W.W.E is a loooong shot, believe me.

nkem Kalu: Let me give u a tip of RANDAL KEITH (POPULARLY KNOWN AS RANDY ORTON) -THE APEX PREDATOR...THE VIPER....MAST OF RKO. One of the most feared and reverred member of the WWE. This guy was born on 1st April 1980 making him to be only 32years this year. He became the youngest WWE superstar to hold the World heavy weight title at the age of 24. His grand father, Father and Uncle were wrestlers and he is the 3rd generation of wrestlers to come out of that family. His grand father is popularly known as 'COWBOY BOB ORTON and his UNCLE is BArry Orton....he was born in 1958. As far back as 2006, Randy Orton was very friendly with EDGE and they formed a group called RATED-RKO and they used it to terrorise their perceived enemies and opponents and ofcourse they were the bad boys of WWE then. Two of them won the WWE TAG team championship in 2006. In 2007 RANDY won 2 WWE titles in one night in two separate fights. He fell apart with EDGE and went ahead to join forces with CODY RHODES and TED Dibiasse to form the Legacy group. They were simply hated by the WWE UNIVERSE as they were nothing but brutes. They were the bad boys of WWE then. They were even attacking Hall of famers and bigger super stars. RANDY ORTON -THE VIPER has won a total of 11 (eleven) WWE championship titles. 3 times as WWE world heavyweight champion, Six times WWE champion (the most coverted), intercontinental title (One time) and WWE Tag team championship with EDGE one time. He is also the winner of 2009 Royal rumble. He is married to SAMANTHA SPENO in 2007 After abusing and harrassing many DIVAS in WWE. He is tough, strong but DEADLY......and above all...he is my guy too.
Good profiling...am impressed inspite of myself.

But in general it's Jerry the king lawler(140 titles).

nkem Kalu: My friend....U should know the difference between WWE Title, World heavy weight Title Inter-continental title, and All American American Title. U are calculating the number of titles Ricflair won? Do u know how many times JOHN CENA has won the world heavy weight title? Do u know how many times he has won the Inter-continental title. I mean u are not competent enough to challenge me in WWE. JOHN CENA has won the most coverted title of WWE 10 times and that is the record no body has equalled....this is excluding other titles he had won and when u add them together with other titles he has won, then u will go and bring that ur Rickflair whom Shawn Michaels sent on compulsory retirement and compare. Anyway, u have said u are not a fan and so this forum is not for U. BYE BYE and that means u don't know the facts.
This confirms it, you really are deluded.
When I said titles I mean't the W.W.E and world heavy weight championship combined excluding other minor titles.
If I had mean't otherwise then Ric Flair and Edge would have tied the 1st position while your 'beloved cena' would have been a distant 4th!
Do your research correctly dude before sprouting half-baked lies and sentiments.

TV/Movies › Re: For All WWE Wrestling Fans(the Nigerian WWE Universe) by Frostyzone(m): 6:17am On May 11, 2012
nkem Kalu: Hello my Fello WWE Fans.......a guy wants to know why all the wrestlers are after the CENATION LEADER.....pls get the gist. CENA has won the WWE championship belt 10 (Ten) good times and ultimately has become the most decorated WWE star. In the history of WWE no star has ever won the tittle that number of times and he is the highest paid WWE star and the current face of WWE with lots of juicy contracts. Infact he is currently the biggest money spinner for WWE and to his own pocket too. However, anybody that holds the WWE title automatically gets a bigger pay in WWE (just as Punk is among the highest paid now in WWE). Be that as it may, it presupposes that for any incoming star to prove himself and be taken serious, u must challenge the biggest Star. Imagine the type of attention Brook Lesnar would have gotten if he had challenged WOO WOO WOO -ZACK RIDER? People would have automatically written him off. That's why all the stars including The animal -BATISTA, the ROCK and the rest wants the head of the CENATION LEADER.

Back to wrestlemania 28......I totally believed that TRIPPLE H would have hit undertaker with the hammer if not for the intervention of Shawn Michaels. This is because, if had had watched the build up to that match....TRIPPLE H never wanted that match in the first intance but was forced into it cos of shame and pride and he ultimately built up courage and was determined to end the era. However, I personally knew that undertaker wanted a revenge on TRIPPLE H as he could not walk out of the ring with his two legs after the Wrestlemania 27 match. And TRIPPLE was so proud of his performance even though the undertaker defeated him. But again, undertaker wanted to reitire after 20-0 of wrestlemania which has never been achieved by anybody on earth. Not forgetting that Undertaker had told 'the GAME' and Celebrial assassin that Shawn his friend was and will ever remain better than him, this prompted the GAME to accept the challenge and fight the UNDERTAKER. Well at the end UNDERKER -THE DEAD MAN was triumphant and the GAME never made it out of the ring with his two legs.....hahahahahah. That is UNDERTAKER FOR U....THE PHENOM, THE DEAD MAN, THE MOST FEARED AND RESPECTED MAN IN WWE HISTORY WHO ONCE BEAT THE CENATION LEADER LIKE A BABY IN WRESTLEMANIA 20. (sorry FOR THE OLODOS WHO DO NOT KNOW THE NAMES AND ACRONYMS OF THE SUPERSTARS LIKE THE CELEBRIAL ASSASIN) I will not explain that and if u want to know.....pls become a fan of WWE......hahahahahahah. GOODLUCK JONATHAN TO ALL OF U.
You are suppose to be a W.W.E fan you couldn't even get the facts right.
Ric flair who is currently under contract at T.N.A is the most decorated W.W.E star in the history of the competition with 16 titles to his name.
Followed closely by Triple H with 13 world/W.W.E titles.
Edge and Cena are tied at 3rd position with 10 titles each.
So, by that statement that Cena is the most decorated is totally wrong.
I'm not even a fan yet I seem to know more than you. And btw I know a lot of their '2nd nicknames':
1. Triple H (Celebral assassin or The game)
2. Shawn Michaels (show stopper or heartbreak kid)
3. Undertaker (phenom/Venom or Deadman)
4. Batista (the animal)
5. Brock lesnar (the pain)
6. John Cena (cenation or you can't see me) etc
See, I don't even have to become a fan to know all this.
So why don't you shut your trap and allow real fans to continue their thread.

Basically it's comparable to wearing cosmetics everyday...or even wearing clothes.
She felt that lighter skin will make her prettier and she went for it.
And here some Nairalanders are busy contradicting themselves by been judgemental and wishing secretly they were in her shoes!
