The judge has the powers to determine where an inmate will serve his sentence.

A judge can rule on house arrest, add hard labour to a sentence or even hand down a suspended sentence or commute a sentence to community service.

As per location, the Judge also reserves authority to determine where an inmate will serve a sentence . A judge can have a convict serve his or her sentence in the mental section of a prison or have him confined to a maximum faccility
