There's no law that stipulates the size by landmass which a territory can meet before it can be considered for state creation.

SE have a valid demand for a 6th state which they could have easily gotten if they had concentrated on creating one from within the zone.

The issue of land mass is irrelevant to state creation.

What is most important is population spread and density.

SE being the most densely populated area in Africa could easily have gotten a 6th state if they had concentrated on carving one out of the region.

But the greed of expansionism saw SE politicians ditch options from within and exclusively within the region for Ned Nwoke's Anim-Oma state project.

Note that while Ned was selling Anioma state to his people in Delta North, he had secretly reached an agreement to merge Anioma state project with that of Orsu state project and had ceded Asaba to Orsu.

The framing of the proposed state merger was also deceptive.

The revised state had taken Anim-Oma in place of Anioma to further decieve and hide the true project to Anioma people.

Ned had sold his merger to a gathering of Ohaneze that the SE will stand to gain territory if they keyed into his Anioma project.


Now that Anioma people rejected the entire thing not just over zoning their proposed state to the SE but merging it with Orsu state and moving the capital from Asaba to Orsu, any talk of a 6th SE state has now died out.

This is where greed comes in.

What stopped Orsu from getting their own state on their own?

No one would have opposed it by citing land mass. Instead the only opposition would have been other competing state projects from within the region such as Ada state project.

For context, Rhode Island on the US eastern seaboard is the smallest state with just 1,034 sq mi which is smaller than Lagos state in Nigeria. It has a population of just over a million but that did not stop it from being a state.

SE can easily get a state from within the zone if they wanted to - land mass or no land mass irrespective.

By failing to look inwards( a reoccurring theme that plagues SE), SE has lost a 6th state status that would have leveraged the region with extra Senatorial representations and more federal law makers. The 6th state would have provided the region with more federal presence, appointments and recognition.

This would have been overall in the best interest to the region.

But instead , expansionism into Delta North made them forget that they stood to benefit most from a 6th state carved from within the zone.

When asked by a reporter on what he is doing to address the US bonds crashing owing to no one wanting to touch it, Trump said he will activate the US military to secure US bonds.

Now a pedestrian response will be that Trump has gone bunkers or suffering from dementia to make such a statement and one will ask how can military might be used to secure a sovereign debt instrument like the US Treasury bonds?.

But Trump isn't speaking like the idiotes he is .

He meant every word he said by stating he will explore US military intervention in getting US bonds to be accepted by other countries.

A little background for the ignorami crowd here on NL....

1. Since Russia was kicked out of the western liquidity markets, Russia has now totally de-invested from the USD and other sundry western investment instruments. This has seen the world's richest resource country now completely bypassing US and western liquidity markets in preference to investing in currency swap deals within BRICS alliance.

All that Russian exports of raw materials and oil is now being traded outside the USD and far from the financial markets in the west.

2. China has stopped investing in US bond markets although they still hold a significant amount in US securities but it has fallen sharply from its high of $1,2 Trillion in 2013 to just under $625bn - a whopping 50% drop.

China has been slowly selling off it's hold on US debt these past 13ys and is no longer buying US bonds.

3. Japan holds the highest US debt at around $1.3 Trillion. But economic recession occasioned by low exports (due to stiff completion from Chinese EV exports) and high trade deficit has put Japan in tight financial straits that they needed to sell some of their US bonds to buoy their declining Yen currency. The US Federal Reserves wasn't having that but instead limited Japan's liquidation to just $3bn worth of Treasury bills which the Feds bought by themselves since no one wants to touch US Treasury bills . This didn't help Japan in anyway as it was a band aid solution to an axe wound on the skull.

4. Gulf Kingdom states were investing heavily through private companies in not just US stock markets but also US bonds . Their consistent purchasing order due mostly possible from oil sales was guaranteed and was one of the reason why US bonds were in demand. With the closure of the straits of Hormuz by Iran all that sweet oil money isn't coming in and going back to propping US sovereign debt.


5. US total debt rose to record $40 Trillion dollars with a daily interest repayment of $3bn. The current US debt at $40Trillion (and climbing) is now twice of US GDP. If any country had this bad credit rating and debt burden on relative terms, no one would loan them money anymore.

All 5 of the reasons above is why US Treasury began increasing rates on their treasury bills to attract investors but no one is coming.

If the US can't secure bonds , it goes to say it will be lights out for it.

The US is like your average American who lives pay check to pay check and depends heavily on credit card debt to get through the month.

Once that credit facility increases in interest rates or is outrightly cut , such an individual will automatically become destitute.

That is the current situation playing out in the US govt which relies on credit lines to keep the lights on.

So the situation is really desperate for the US as things stand.

Increasing interest rates will only cause more debt and future inflation by spilling into the domestic debt market. Interest rates will increase and average Americans will pay more on their already maxed out credit cards than they used to.

So when Trump says he will explore using the military he isn't talking as someone whose only tool available is a hammer and every problem a nail , Trump really means something more sinister.

The US military has been the arm twister that forced most of the world into its Petrol dollar hegemon.

The USD is the global currency not out of choice but by pure military force and decree.

Any country that refuses to trade their exports in USD and keep reserves in same USD will automatically qualify for Freebombs aka Freedom wars.

Qaddafi , Assad , Chavez and Iran have one thing in common , they rejected USD as a primary.means of trade and as a reserve currency.

So when Trump says he will use the military to secure US treasury bills , he means getting smaller countries to all be forced to invest in long term US treasury bills in order to kick the can that is US insolvency down the line.

Ironic, that Trump being US President during its point of declaring bankruptcy is no surprising since Trump knows more than anyone how to file for bankruptcy..

Now if the US can not get enough countries to be forced to invest in US treasury bills , one thing is sure and that is the US will instigate third World war to bring about another global reset.
