Stranger ,

Anywhere respect is earned, Did you remember a Governorship candidate in the US telling Obama to shove it?
Two wrongs never make a right
I remember, but generally US governors and politicians generally refrain from ridiculing the office of the president.

Do you remember what happened to Wilson after he disrespected Obama? The public outcry and his subsequent apology?

Lets be honest, Fashola crossed the line and he ought to apologize.

Its amazing how some numbskulls are trying to defend GEJ by saying he didn't call anybody's name. The fact is that he made the statement that the west is being run by rascals, he has no right to call anyone a rascal, the irony is that a couple of pdp govs held sway in the west before their mandates were invalidated by the election tribunal due to the fraudulent manner in which their votes were obtained. So what will GEJ call this people?
Former rascals!

Very nice article

I have always had utmost respect for Alex Ekwueme, and it is unfortunate that he was rigged out/ out-maneuvered during the 2003 PDP primaries.

A very unassuming personality.

I think he is a patriot, no doubt. One of the very few people competent men from the SE.
PoliticsRe: Dangote Should Run For Lagos State Governor In 2015 by fstranger3(m): 5:54am On Feb 10, 2011
When will all these crap about Lagos stop?

Dangote wants Lagos
Hausas claim Alausa. Ikeja is theirs
Igbos claim they make up 90% of Lagos
Now Benin people want to annex Lagos

Why people? Why is everyone but the Yoruba people going crazy about Lagos?

Do you all like us like that?

Why dont you expend more energy into developing your own enclaves like the Yorubas did to Lagos? Why is that so difficult to do?ARRGH

So it is going to be held in Florida, Ileke lives in Florida and Ileke, having professed her affection/dating preference for 'no pimple' Igbo boys, decided to create a thread just to confirm if Ezeuche would be attending or not.

Oh Mehn, Ezeuche, if I were you, I'd take it.

Yoruba girls dont normally hit on guys, Ileke definitely has a thingy for you.

Gbawe:
and the President has the right to go around talking like a "rascal"? Fashola is spot on. Deep down , most top administrators (Amaechi, Fashola, Chime et al) don't respect GEJ as a leader. They dont see someone sagacious and deserving of his office when they look at GEJ. They know he is mediocre and has luck to thank for where he finds himself. This is why Fashola's uses the word "luck" several times. The point is that the likes of Fashola want to respect Jonathan's office but the mediocre man in that office should then not start talking down those doing their jobs properly while all he does is spend profligately without doing anything of note to move Nigeria forward.

Look at Ribadu talking about the FOI bill and its importance to good governance while GEJ is all over the place talking like an 'agbero'. Will he ever be found talking comprehensively about issues important to the progress of Nigeria?  Abeg stop this nonsense of never seeing anything wrong with GEJ's actions. We are in a democracy. He should respect others (especially proven performers) and they may just respect his office publicly.
I agree with you to a great extent. Not everything GEj did nor say is right. However, of issue here is his position. It doesnt matter who occupied the post, the post should be respected as the highest post in the land. The President is seen to many a school children as a role model, an honest person, the father to all, the #1 person in the country, and everyone else, either directly or indirectly is below him. And, the Governors, in a way, work for him. Any attempt to discredit his candidacy, undermine his influence or ridicule his person should be rebuked by any and all sane person because any tarnish to the post is an assault on our collective sensibility as a nation.

Irrespective of our view, we need to always have someone in charge, and that person needs to be seen as capable. Any attempt by people like Fashola and his ilks, no matter how popular,to  ridicule the office is an attempt at inviting chaos to the polity secondary to rendering the office ineffective. What Fashola has done, an act of gross insubordination to a superior, is akin to a junior officer disobeying the commands of a senior officer, an offense punishable by death in certain parts of the world.

What lesson is Fashola trying to pass to the millions of school children in Lagos, that anytime their teachers mis-speak, it is their right, not to politely correct their teachers, but to ridicule them and aggressively embarrass their teachers any way possible. I am sure that is not the kind of behavior you want inculcated in your kids.

Lets call a spade a spade, Fashola's behavior is reprehensible and should be condemned by all.

Fashola blasts Jonathan

Elections will not be won by resulting to derogatory language and by claiming luck. Elections require those who seek elective offices to focus on the people over who they plan to exercise authority and to communicate to them in a very clear and practical manner how they intend to improve their lot. I think that the PDP led federal government has a lot of questions to answer in Lagos .”

This is a big embarrassment to the president. I dont think, Fashola should have uttered those words. GEJ is the president for luck's sake!

Actually i find quite a lot of your posts concerning the nigeria - biafra civil war to be quite tribalistic.
If i were to take a quick survey of the discussions that you spend the most time on i am very sure that i will find that you spend a disproportionate amount of your time on discussions which focus on igbo vs yoruba issues, you obviously have some unresolved issues regarding igbo people, but hey im no shrink , seek help if you feel the need for it.
If it were that your intention was simply to clarify issues surrounding the nigerian civil war your views wouldnt be so crassly biased in favour of your kinsmen, people see through deceit and yours is very glaring, you can dress up your sinister intentions as much as you like but your devious agenda is all too obvious in your smirking, snide and one sided "analysis".
By the way you are not an authority on the nigerian - biafra war - so spare me the "im here to correct factual inaccuracies" - you are just like the rest of us on here -  trying to distinguish fact from fiction.
What you do not understand is getting in the way of the little you know

Prove to us that Katsumoto is Yoruba. I bet you can't

Just like how you try to label Bkbabe, Jason and Alh Harem as Yoruba,  you want to do same to Katsumoto

Why is it that everyone who doesnt agree with your biased version of history is Yoruba? why so much hate and jealousy of the Yorubas? why so much contempt?

Although, I am not a shrink, well, not yet, nevertheless, I'd advise you to go see one. Do that first, you can thank me later.

sorry mate - you didnt burst my bubble:
"Thomas Umunnakwe Aguiyi-Ironsi was born to Mazi Ezeugo Aguiyi's[1] Ohuhu-Igbo family on March 3, 1924, in Umuahia-Ibeku, present day Abia State, Nigeria. When he was eight years old, Ironsi moved in with his older sister Anyamma, who was married to Theophilius Johnson, a Sierra Leonean diplomat in Umuahia. Ironsi subsequently took the last name of his brother-in-law, who became his father figure. At the age of 18, Ironsi joined the Nigerian Army against the wishes of his sister"

Believe whatever you want to believe!

I do know certain things for sure, Emeagwali has a PH.D., Igbos are from Israel, Igbos make up 95% of Lagos population and now, Aguiyi-Ironsi is from Alaigbo
