Events / Re: Funerals Have Taken A New Dimension In The East by fujirice: 8:19am On Jun 23, 2021
djlyrics:
This is one thing I dislike about the Igbo culture, I have seen people in their lifetime begging for food to eat and other basic necessary needs of life to survive. Once they are dead, come and see elaborate funeral party.

These are not done most of the time because they love the deceased family member, but to show the community that they have arrived. (The Igbo man Way of telling the next person. I AM BETTER THAN YOU.)
This is a vice and not a virtue. most importantly, this has to stop.
You guys have a warped understanding of how these things work. If none of you have buried a parent, I don’t think y’all have any moral standing contributing on this topic.
Yes, you have lost a loved one but should that now make it look like all hope is lost? So, people that travelled long distances to come pay their last respects should go back home on empty stomach? Like someone said, it’s an age long tradition and not a borrowed culture. Igbo people value life and the life that the deceased must have lived that’s why he’s being honored.
My dad’s burial was bigger than a carnival and we are happy we honored him that way because he lived a good life. Nothing is as repulsive to me as watching the videos of a burial ceremony and the only thing you can take away from it is gloomy faces and dull gathering.
That’s a sad way to bid a loved one farewell.

Even If the war starts, our army will make sure we are secure by ordering us to roll in dirty mud water. No aerial drone can differentiate mud from mud.
Lol!
You are funny.
So, what are you going to do to the heat your body produce? The body gives off heat signals too and these aerial drones can pick it.

Politics / Re: FG Shortlists 21 States For Pilot Grazing Reserves (list) by fujirice: 5:51am On Jun 18, 2021
See the way federal government is pampering this private business that is contributing little or nothing to the national purse but other sectors are neglected and people are wondering why food prices are soaring.

You carve out free grazing reserves from people’s lands and give them and then what? You expect these people to stand idly by and watch? How many farmers are given free lands or free fertilizers to support their farm produce.

Things like these are what is causing commotion in the country and it’s very unfortunate that the federal Government decided to choose a side. Let me remind this administration that another administration will soon enter. That’s when they will reap all this discord they have been planting across the nation.

Forget all these people that are talking down on NOUN. It’s because we are used to suffering that’s why they are talking trash.
You know they don’t go on strike and their admission is per semester and once their academic calendar is out they stick to it religiously. So, a 4 years course in NOUN is 4 years and no extra year, unless you didn’t do what you are supposed to do.
NOUN looks easy from the outside until you enter.
Currently running masters with them and body dey tell me. The last time I read overnight for consecutive nights was when I was preparing for SSCE but NOUN has made me to revisit that old habit because I’m combining it with work.
Academically they are good. Lectures may not be as intense as it would be in a conventional University but you will always make up with tutorials which they organize as well.

The handwriting is very BOLD but Southerners are still living in denial.
This is why they are frustrating every attempt for this country to practice fiscal federalism.
Why they are still succeeding is that we are always fighting ourselves in the South.
The day a truly United Southern Nigeria is born, it will be game over for the North. We are gradually getting there.

any reasonable coach will play without a striker against chelsea because of how Chelsea defence line is set up. how do you think Aguero would have hurt chelsea when Chelsea doesn't give you the Chance to penetrate through the middle even. suarez and benzima no get chance to do that one if nor that set piece goal. chelsea is a dangerous team to play period
Don’t mind them.
Anything to take away the shine and the tactical brilliance of Tuchel. Everyone is just talking about Pep because they gave Chelsea no chance. Forgetting that this same Chelsea had beaten City even in their backyard!
When will these people give us the accolade that we deserve?

In a sane society, it will not make sense for a sister agency to attack the other but we see that happen in Nigeria without heads rolling. So no biggie. Anything goes here

Kidnapping is all over d country abi na killin wen worse for North... the honest truth is dis govt is overwhelmed with d security issues hence making lots of mistakes in der decision making...

Food for thought: Dont u think all dis is to destroy the alrdy tarnished image of this present govt for 2023 elections just like wat happened during Jona time (Boko haram). Think about it.
I am not going to join issues with you but you are trying to sound as if you and I are not in this country together.
Is it not In this country that army and police will have issues before you know it, it’ll turn to a bloody shootout?
How many times have the military sacked communities in this country just because they had a misunderstanding?
We all know how desperate and wicked our politicians can be. So, I’m not ruling out anything.
Like I said, there’s no way that kind of heavy military presence was in Awka yesterday and UGM still had their way.
The security agents are accomplices.
Period!

Guys, there’s something seriously going on in the South and I can boldly tell you guys that this government is solidly behind it.
Yesterday, I was on a zoom call with my brother who resides in Awka. Around 7pm he went to drop off some people that visited him but was turned back by police. And he said that military tanks were everywhere in the town. Just few hours later the news of “unknown gunmen” broke out that they burnt INEC office.
I don’t want to believe with all the military and police presence, these guys still has their way.
It’s either the security agents are not putting up enough resistance or they are the ones actually perpetrating these acts.
God will expose them. All these destruction is geared towards 2023 elections.
Southerners need to start getting their acts right.
These guys are not playing.
The best time for fiscal federalism was many years ago. It is still not late to start today.
A guest/stranger to your abode cannot protect your land better than you can.
State policing and other security outfits need to be up and running at different state levels NOW!
We can’t continue like this.

Which emotion? Weren't you watching the match at all? I'm judging them based on what I saw them display, it has nothing to do with emotion. Timo Werner and the overrated Christian pulisic, were total trash today. The refs are always against chelsea, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be taking our chances whenever we manage to create one.
I pray we buy a clinical striker in the summer, or two if possible with the second being a Lite winger
Lol! And you said you are not basing your opinion on emotions?
Well done sir.

That’s your opinion. I don’t judge my players based on emotions. The only player that didn’t give a good account of himself today is Jorginho and maybe Kovaciç. The rest didn’t do badly if you ask me.
It’s just clear that the officials had an agenda against Chelsea.
Do you know how frustrating that could be for the players?

I am highly disappointed with the ref of this match and VAR. How many times did Aston Villa players use their hand to stop goal bound ball without the referee doing anything about it. Even when Chelsea players protested.
And why the hell should you show Azpi straight red and not book the player that purposely tripped him.
Azpilicueta only acted by reflex. He didn’t mean to strike Grealish. It was supposed to be a nudge but mistakenly caught him on the face and you quickly brandished red
English referees will never seize to amaze me.
There was a serious plot to dump Chelsea out of the Championship’s league but God no shame us.

This is another reason why I think beven if Tinubu emerge the president of Nigeria today the status quo will continue.

People are know to be a deceiver in this country but the minutes they occupy public office their identity will be revealed.

I remembered Lawan in the national assembly chamber. I used to see the man as a kinda class politicians different from all political correctness of this country.

Just as he captured the no 3 office of the country he has practically changed from the man I used to know.
Can we just have Bukola Saraki back?
I miss that guy.
The leadership of this current National Assembly is just daft and bereft of sound reasoning.
