Aisha Yesufu Reacts To Tweet Of Aminu Adamu Supporting Death Of Slain Undergraduate, Deborah Samuel

Human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu has reacted to the old tweet of the detained student of the Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State, Aminu Adamu, supporting the gruesome killing of Deborah Samuel.

Recall that Debora, a female student of the Shehu Shagari College of Education was burnt to death by a mob of Muslims over the blasphemy of Prophet Mohammed.

In a recent tweet that surfaced on Thursday morning, Adamu posted a picture of a t-shirt with Deborah’s picture on it, writing in Hausa, ‘Duk Wanda yasa wannan rigar ah Bauchi sai munchi uwarsa’, which means “Anyone that wears this shirt in Bauchi, we will deal with them”.

This tweet sparked several reactions from Nigerians clamouring for his release, in which some of the tweeps expressed that his arrest is an act of karma.

However, Yesufu in a tweet cautioned the people withdrawing from seeking justice for the undergraduate.

She wrote:
“If your demands for justice for anyone is dependent on the person’s behaviour, affiliations, words or even whether you like the person or not then you really need to ask yourself if it is justice you want or something else.”

Recall that Adamu was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) over his statement on the First Lady, Aisha Buhari’s weight.

Hajia Titi Atiku, wife of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has urged Nigerians, especially people of the South-West, so that a Yoruba woman can be the First Lady in Nigeria for the first time.
She said this while addressing the crowd at the party’s rally in Akure, the Ondo State capital, where she also promised that her husband will defeat Boko Haram and provide scholarships to students.
Mrs Titi Atiku is from Ilesa in Osun State.
She said, “My people, I stand in your presence to tell you that my husband has done it before. The last election was won by my husband but we were robbed. My husband indeed is a Fulani but he is not a killer and we have been together. I taught him our culture and tradition, and he is part of us.
“During Obasanjo’s tenure, it was Atiku that brought the likes of Elrufai, Ngozi Okonjo-iweala and others who did well for Nigeria.”
On why they need to vote Atiku, she said: “No Yoruba has ever been a First Lady and if we vote
Atiku, it is a vote for Yoruba. There is hunger in the land, don’t let the opposition deceive you, vote for all PDP candidates during the election.” On his agenda, she said, “Atiku will defeat Boko Haram and provide you with scholarships.”

A Southwest US-based Ghanaian passenger has been arrested by air marshals in an attempt to open a plane door mid-flight as per new details made available.

According to her, “Jesus told her” to do it.

Elom Agbegninou, 34, was on the Ohio-bound flight from Texas on Saturday afternoon when she allegedly became frustrated that flight attendants prevented her from reaching the emergency exit.

When a fellow passenger intervened by tackling Agbegninou, she responded by biting the person on the thigh, refusing to let go until the victim forced their fingers into her jaw.

The crazed woman then started whacking her head on the plane floor, claiming “Jesus told her to fly to Ohio and Jesus told her to open the door,” the documents released by the US District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas on Monday show.

According to the criminal complaint, Agbegninou is expected to face charges of assault within maritime and territorial jurisdiction and interference with flight crew members and attendants.

A spokesperson for the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, Kenneth Okonkwo has said the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai should be held responsible for the death of the Labour Party women leader, Mrs Victoria Chintex if the perpetrators are not apprehended immediately.

It was earlier reported that the LP women leader was shot dead on Monday night by gunmen who reportedly broke into her residence at about 8pm.

The ugly development has been generating reactions across the country, as many linked the incident to politics, alleging that she was killed by thugs hired by a rival party.

Similarly, Kenneth Okonkwo, while reacting to the incident in a tweet on his official Twitter handle, said El-Rufai as the Chief Security Officer of the State, should be blamed for the assassination if the killers are not arrested.

He wrote, “The Labour Party Women Leader in Kaura, Kaduna State, Victoria Chintex, was on Monday, 28th Nov, shot dead by suspected assassins.

“The APC Governor of Kaduna State, El-Rufai, should be held responsible for her death as the CSO if the killers are not apprehended immediately”.

Gumsu, a daughter of Sani Abacha, late military head of state, says she received “good upbringing” from her parents.

In a tweet on Monday night, Gumsu said she wishes no one falls victim to violence or a “show of shame”.

“Alhamdulillah for the good upbringing that I received from my parents. May we never fall victim to violence/show of shame.

Omo pedigree no be lie wallahi. Alhamdulillah wa shukrulillah always,” she wrote.

Although she didn’t give any interpretation, her tweet comes days after Aminu Muhammad, a student of the Federal University Dutse, was arrested by the police over a critical post on Aisha Buhari.

The tweet, which was posted in Hausa in June 2022, reads: “Su mama anchi kudin talkawa ankoshi.”

The tweet, which was accompanied by a photograph of the president’s wife, loosely translates as “Mama has eaten poor people’s money and is now full”.

Condemnations from human rights activists and other Nigerians have since trailed Muhammad’s arrest.

On Tuesday, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) apologised to Aisha and appealed for Muhammad’s release.

Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye, professionally known as Psquare, has revealed that Nigeria consists of two tribes.

On Tuesday, Peter claimed on his Twitter page that Nigeria currently has two tribes: rich and poor.

According to him, the number of the poor is overwhelmingly higher than the number of the rich.

He stated that the poor have rejected banding together to fight for their liberation, which is why the rich have been able to accomplish their achievement.

He urged Nigerians, especially those who were eligible to vote, to exercise sound judgment when casting their ballots in the next general elections.

“The poor are higher in number, while the rich are fewer.
