Babachir Lawal Endorses Obi For Presidency, Says ‘'All Other Ways Lead To Perdition’' Babachir Lawal, a former secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), has endorsed Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP). Lawal had supported Bola Tinubu, former Lagos governor, until the latter’s election as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC). However, following Tinubu’s decision to select Kashim Shettima, a fellow Muslim, as his running mate, the former SGF had withdrawn his support, insisting that he was against the APC’s Muslim-Muslim ticket. In a statement on Thursday, Lawal said he chose Obi after a painstaking review of the presidential candidates. The former SGF also said the Obi/Datti ticket speaks to a genuine clamour on power shift. “As one of the foremost critics of APC’s single-faith presidential ticket and also in deference to those who have patiently waited for our guidance as to where to pitch our tent, after a painstaking review and analysis of the alternative presidential tickets, we now wish to recommend the Obi/Datti presidential ticket,” the statement reads in part. “Obviously, a Christian/Muslim presidency like the Obi/Datti one will be most appropriate at this stage of our political journey, more so, since we are now transiting from a Muslim/Christian presidency. “It will also achieve the regional shift of the presidency from the current NW/SW to a SE/NW presidency as popularly being canvassed. “This is justice; this is equity! This is political engineering at its best and one that engineers peace and harmonious co-existence of the various socio-political and religious classes of our nation. “Nigerians should also resist the temptation of being ruled by the same set of courtiers who are recycling themselves, their children and their friends in a monarchal fashion, in and out of government to the exclusion of other segments of the society. “Nigerians must be awake to these very dangerous campaign trends because any of the political parties that come into government by pandering to ethnic or religious sentiments may not be able to govern successfully and might further accentuate the social cleavages. “Men of good conscience should therefore look to opportunities that unite rather than divide us. Only the Labor Party presents this opportunity. “We, therefore, call on all patriots to labour for our country in this presidential election. Nigeria’s future is at stake in this presidential election. Obi-Datti is the only way to go. All other ways lead to perdition.” https://www.thecable.ng/babachir-lawal-endorses-obi-for-presidency-says-all-other-ways-lead-to-perdition/amp

Gunmen Kill Cops, Kidnap Rivers Oil Coy MD Three policemen on escort duty were on Thursday evening shot dead by gunmen at the Rumuokoro area of the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. Also, the gunmen kidnapped the Managing Director of an oil and gas company based in Port Harcourt. The policemen, who were in a Hilux vehicle, were said to be escorting the company’s MD and members of staff of the firm when they were intercepted. The daredevil gunmen blocked the vehicle in which the top oil workers were, and immediately rained bullets on the policemen who attempted to stop them from achieving their aim. With the policemen killed, the gunmen reportedly isolated their target after identifying him, dragged him into their own vehicle and zoomed off. The gunshots sent cold shivers down the spine of residents and business owners who scampered for safety. Within minutes, the area was deserted, as the gunmen left unchallenged, while the lifeless remains of the three cops became a spectacle. One of the voices in the video said, “It happened live at Rumuokoro. Live and direct. Jesus Christ! They have killed three policemen and kidnapped the person they were escorting. Look at bullets on the floor.” From the video seen by our correspondent, blood was still dripping from the head of two of the cops. When contacted, spokesperson of the State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident, saying a full scale investigation had been launched. “Yes, it is true that three policemen were killed. It is very unfortunate. They were providing escort for the oil company workers when the incident happened. “But we are on it and an investigation has been launched immediately into the incident with a view to apprehend the suspects,” Iringe-Koko, a Superintendent of Police, said. https://punchng.com/gunmen-kill-cops-kidnap-rivers-oil-coy-md/?amp

King Charles Has Ended 'Family Monarchy' Set By Queen And Prince Philip, Says Expert King Charles' failed marriage to Princess Diana means he is unable to carry the brand of "family monarchy" like his parents, a royal author and historian has claimed. This week marks the 75th anniversary since the late Queen and Duke of Edinburgh tied the knot at Westminister Abbey in a marriage that lasted for 73 years until Philip's death last year. In contrast, the new King Charles saw his union with Diana end in divorce - although he has since remarried with him and Queen Consort Camilla celebrating 17 years of marriage in April. And according to author Tessa Dunlop, whereas the Queen and Philip could rely on their long marriage to promote a "family monarchy" Charles cannot She explained to the Mirror: "Seventy-five years ago Princess Elizabeth walked down the aisle with her war-hero husband, Philip. "The stunning pair were instant trend-setters - 200 million listened to the wedding of the decade in a record-breaking year for tying the knot. "Britain’s pin-up family, the House of Windsor, had reached dizzy new heights. Within a year Prince Charles was born; the original baby boomer, his arrival sealed the deal for family monarchy. "In this era of the nuclear family, divorce laws didn’t change for over twenty years. "Irrespective of what happened behind closed doors Elizabeth and Philip were the perfect couple in a fast-changing society. Theirs would prove a tough act to follow." And she added that it's now up to Charles to find a new "potent" brand in order to lead the monarchy today. Tessa said: "By 1980 the pressure on Charles was huge. Britain wanted another royal wedding. On the surface, his marriage looked like the perfect second act - another blushing bride with her sailor-prince. "But times had changed: divorce was prevalent, celebrity culture distorting, infidelity unacceptable. Charles and Diana’s giant wedding ended in giant failure. Family monarchy fell apart." "Charles is the product of his generation just as his parents were of theirs. But can our everyman king find a new brand as potent as family monarchy? Let's hope so for the sake of our divided nation." Photos Info: 1. King Charles With Wife, Queen Consort Camilla 2. The Queen And Prince Philip, Who Married 75 Years Ago 3. APC Used The Picture I Took When I Was 12 Years, As ‘Young Tinubu’ In Their Documentaries – Donald Duke Laments Former governor of Cross River state, Donald Duke has claimed that his photograph was used in various documentaries to depict the childhood of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressive Congress presidential candidate. At a recent roundtable hosted by the Front Fort Media Initiative and the MacArthur Foundation in Lagos, Duke shared this shocking revelation to editors. Recall that in a bid to clear the numerous controversies surrounding the background of Tinubu’s presidential candidacy, APC supporters and their media teams packaged various documentaries to launder the image of their presidential candidate. The documentaries which were televised some months ago on the TVC, and also uploaded on various YouTube channels, used a slew of photos and videos to narrate the life history, political ascendancy of Tinubu. In the video, a particular monochrome photograph of a young boy in dark sunglasses, seated and with his fingers joined together, was cited as Bola Tinubu during his years as a young boy. However, Duke said that the photo of the boy shown as ‘young Tinubu’ in the documentaries, is him and not the Bola Tinubu as televised. He said that he took the picture when he was 12 years old. “The picture of the boy used as Bola Tinubu in all the documentaries is me. I am the boy in the picture, not Tinubu as they claimed in their documentaries. That photo was taken when I was 12 years old during my school years at the Federal Government College Sokoto, in Sokoto state.” Duke said. 2023 Presidential Race: APC Stalwart Conducts Poll, Quickly Deletes After Peter Obi Swept 78% Votes A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr Kingsley Femi Fanwo has quickly deleted a poll he initiated on Twitter after the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Mr Peter Gregory Onwubuasi Obi, swept 78% votes of all votes cast. Mr. Fanwo deleted the poll after eight hours of voting with over 73,212 people voting. Before the Information and Communications Commissioner deleted the poll, however, he was beaten to it as the result was promptly screenshot before he pull down the poll. Kingsley Fanwo had asked on his Twitter handle @KingsleyFanwo: “Dear Nigerians, who do you want as your next President?” According to the saved version, Peter Obi garnered 78% of the votes, followed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who scored 15%. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, scored a paltry 4%, while the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, came last with 3%. Interestingly, Peter Obi had consistently won all the polls conducted online since the presidential race gathered momentum. Just yesterday, Peter Obi once again took the lead in a poll showing the voting intentions with about forty percent of recently surveyed respondents. This was revealed by the founding partner of Nextier and public policy analyst, Mr. Patrick Okigbo III, during an interview on “The Morning Show” by Arise Television, hosted by Dr. Reuben Abati and Mr. Oseni Rufai on Tuesday. The poll, just like previous ones conducted by various firms, projected Peter Obi as leading in the 2023 voting intentions among respondents in the survey conducted by the organisation. All these unfortunate & disheartening incidents are pointers to the very fact that, the end of the world is much nearer than ever before! Of course, the Scriptures foretold, among other things, that: *Iniquities shall abound! *The wicked shall do wickedly! *Many shall turn aside to Satan! *Many shall be blasphemers! *Many shall be unholy! *The love of mammon or money shall aggressively increase! *He!l shall progressively enlarge itself! Folks, repent, and be reconciled to the Living God through Christ Jesus, so as to escape perdition! |
See the production year of these Naira Notes It's no longer a news to all and sundry that the CBN has propagated its resolve to redesign the Naira Notes for certain reasons that are made known to the general public, regardless of the controversial and divergent opinions of individual citizens about the project. Ever since it has been broadly announced, it's has become a commonplace to see stolen, ill-gotten or hoarded bills resurfacing in circulation. Although those Notes have been produced over a decade, they are strikingly looking neat, which can't but raise suspicions about their source! Find the picture of the Notes below:

Allow children grow before naming them – Doctor reacts to pregnant “Martha” caught with pastor on matrimonial bed A popular Nigerian doctor identified on Twitter as Doctor Penking has reacted to the video of the heavily pregnant woman caught in bed with a pastor. Recall that a video made rounds on social media that caused a stir amongst netizens. The video had a heavily pregnant woman caught red-handed by her husband with another man on their matrimonial bed. According to reports, the man who was having an intimate relationship with his wife is the pastor of the church she attends, and he was offering prayers of protection for her. Reacting to the video that has gone viral, Doctor Penking has said that people should be allowed to grow before certain names should be given to them per the character traits they portray. According to him, the name “Martha” is one of the biblical names of a woman who was very close to Jesus hence the pregnant woman does not deserve such a name because she does not depict the character of “Martha” in the bible. He tweeted, “think we should allow humans to grow up before we give them names because how can “Martha” who was one of the few women who sat side by side with Jesus Christ, cheat on her husband with a 9 months pregnancy on their matrimonial bed, with her pastor? Holy Ghost!!! https://www.ghbase.com/allow-people-grow-before-naming-them-doctor-reacts-to-pregnant-martha-caught-with-pastor-on-matrimonial-bed/

... *PETER OBI'S RESPONSE TO SOLUDO* *On the comments by my very respectable elder brother, Soludo: I and Soludo have come a long way; he’s my brother, he’s my friend, he’s the Governor of my State.* *And as Governor of my state, I pray for him to do well. And I support him – it’s very important and critical.* *He has his own opinions. His opinion might not be the opinion of the people of Anambra state. It might not be the opinion of the Southeast or Nigerians. But I respect his opinion because it is his opinion.* *And he’s a respected person as far as I am concerned. And he is my Governor.* *But to clarify so that people can understand, the investment I did in Anambra State – before I talk about investment – the only measure of development while I was Governor was Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).* *It is MDGs that India, China and Vietnam mainstreamed into their development agenda.* *For China, they used it to pull 439 million people out of poverty between year 2000 and 2015.* *India within this period pulled 276 million out of poverty!* *And Vietnam did almost 40 to 50 million out of poverty!* *I became Governor in 2006, was impeached ending of 2006.* *I came back. When they said I should pay money for me not to be impeached, I said no, I can’t pay people for doing the wrong thing. I will rather go!* *But I came back (as Governor). They started MDG in 2000.* *After my impeachment, I came back in 2007, and started implementing MDG.* *By the time Nigeria ended MDG in 2015, Anambra State was number 1!* *The person in charge of pulling people out of poverty, Dr Magnus Kpakol, go and ask him about certificate for being number one. He’s still alive!* *Go to department of statistics, I was the first governor to do a statistical record of poverty.* *I won a prize from Federal Ministry of Works for having the best road network!* *When I started, we were number 26 and 27 in WAEC and NECO (exams); by the time I left we were number one!* *I won Bill Gate prize for health!* *I can go on and on and say this is what we achieved. But the overall measure is MDG. I was number 1!* *I was even invited to United Nations to share my experience.* *The day I left office, I was not owing any contractor who had executed his job!* *I didn’t say I was not owing for any contract awarded. You can only pay when the job is executed!* *I was not owing any supplier who supplied anything!* *Examples are (companies) like Innoson, Zinox Computers.* *I paid Zinox, and we bought the highest amount of computers ever bought by a government in Africa – they are here. HP will tell you the same thing!* *I paid them 6 months upfront before they supplied it to our schools.* *I paid Innoson one year before he delivered any car. You can go and verify all these.* *Above these, I decided from day one that we must have savings as a state.* *We must save at least 10% of my total receipt by the time I leave government.* *Total money received by Anambra State while I was governor – whether state, local government, IGR – everything was about 500 and something billion Naira, out of which the day I left office, we had savings of 75 billion naira, and this is how the money was shared: We saved in dollars in three banks in Nigeria: Access, Diamond and Fidelity banks.* *In each of these banks, I had savings of 50 million dollars. And they were invested at at least interest of six and a half per cent.* *If you calculate it today, as at that time it was the equivalent of 25 billion!* *If you calculate it today with interest, it is at least 250 million dollars!* *In each of these banks, I Invested at least 10 billion Naira, making it N30 billion at an average interest of about 10%.* *If you calculate it today, that money would be about 60 billion. Remember what I left is 75!* *The third one is investment I did in various companies – like NIPP, we have 59 million dollars in it.* *The one they are saying is worthless is that we invested 3.5 billion in international breweries, a global company, part of a company which is the biggest brewer in the whole world!* *We had a policy while I was governor that any foreign investor who wants to invest in Anambra state we will buy 10% of the company, and under the condition that it will give Anambra people employment of not less than 40% of the workers.* *They built the facility in Anambra state. That facility is there today, employing directly and indirectly over 10,000 Anambrarians.* *They’ve been one of the highest revenue source for the state, even some of their waste, the biggest piggery we have in Anambra state collects waste from them, there are so many things that company has done in terms of helping the state, transporters, etc. The shares were at a time being sold at 50 naira.* *Today the shares are about 5 naira or so. Maybe that was what was referred to (by Soludo), but in the overall of what I left, its less than 5% - that particular investment (that Soludo mentioned) is less than 5%.* *So if you calculate what I left, I left 75 billion!* *If you go and sell the dollars today even at N600, it’s 150 billion, plus 60 billion of the naira, it’s 210 billion!* *Even if that one is wasted, three times what I invested is still there.* *When you spread your investment, some will go up, some will come down, but overall, the company is still there, still doing well, and it’s still part of a global chain.* *I needed to explain it not because I’m defending (myself regarding) the comments by my brother; my brother is my brother and remains my brother; we’re very close, and I remain prayerful for him.* *For other things I didn’t succeed, God has given him opportunity to do it and succeed (smiles).* *If there’s anything pending, in governance you don’t finish (everything), you stop where you stop, other people will continue from there.* *I don’t look back, he’s the governor of my state, he’s my senior brother, he’s even more intelligent than me because he’s a professor, I’m a trader. He knows more, so he will be able to do things better than I did it. You know I’ve done my little as a trader.* *Now, the professor is there. He will do his own as a professor, The schools I didn’t roof, he will roof them. That’s how government goes. Another person comes, does his own.* *Finally, please, get involved. All of us (presidential candidates) are going to tell you a good story, say the same thing, but who can we trust?* *Even in this one they are talking about, some say he kept money and he did nothing, and I say ah ah, even in the Bible, the man said since you couldn’t do this, why didn’t you save my money?* *If everybody who has led who did nothing kept money, would we have problem now?* *We would have had money to do something. At least I kept the money. But in this one, I did something and I kept money!* *Nobody is a saint. I am not! I have never claimed to be, and I don’t know everything. The little I know, I’ve tried.* *If you say you will fight corruption, let’s know where you passed through. How much did you leave there, how much was missing.* *At least today I’ve said where I left 150 million dollars, and 30 billion naira. Let others come and show where they left their own.* *Go to Anambra state, if you see a piece of land allocated to Peter obi, or his wife or anybody, directly or indirectly, come I will stop campaigning!* *So I say I will fight corruption head-on because I’ve experimented it somewhere.* - *Peter Obi @ LBS 15/11/2022* |

Attack On Peter Obi: 10 Reasons Prof Soludo’s Credentials As An Economist Need To Be Reviewed 1. Soludo as an economist and former governor of Central Bank has disappointed his profession for discrediting savings and investments made by Mr Peter Obi on behalf of Anambra Government. 2. Soludo has proven to be a partner in crime with his predecessor for not questioning the where over N75 billion left in cash at various state government accounts. He has no problem with what happened to the money but has a problem with why the money was left in the first place. 3. If a man left a thriving investment to his successor, it is left for him to uphold, terminate or grow the investment. The then-governor had no problem with the investment but Soludo now has because he may simply be planning to leave an empty treasury. 4. Money is not saved because today’s problems have finished, money is saved because we need to secure the future. 5. The best way to secure victory for your party is not to blackmail but to compete positively by aligning with good ideas and persons. 6. Anambrarians are waiting for the transformation of Anambra to become another DUBAI according to your promise. It is time to begin to focus on delivering the dividends of good governance to Anambra people. 7. If I were Soludo whose party, APGA, has no presidential candidate, I would have worked with my party leadership to adopt Peter Obi as our candidate without mincing words. But it is obvious that the fathers and sons of darkness have paid Soludo a night visit possibly with a bullion van in their convoy. 8. Why is the governor so envious of legacy? Does he not know that 99% of Governors do not make use of up to 60% of Federal allocation and IGR in building the state which is why some become richer than their states? Why not applaud a man who chose to save than to steal? 9. It has been foretold that some of Peter Obi’s kinsmen will fight against his ambition, I wasn’t thinking in the direction of Soludo who should be proud that Peter Obi, who hails from his state, is making it to Aso Rock! 10. It is time to understand that Nigeria needs Peter Obi. No amount of mud-throwing can change the revolution in view. The only way forward for Soludo is to become OBIDIENT. I come in peace!
