^^^^congrats girl grin I know that feeling.

Your edges look okay to me. You can keep applying castor oil or the Jamaican black castor oil. It works wonders on edges.

Thank God for His Grace.

@OP

I will suggest you get your eyes tested by a very good optician/ophthalmologist.

Mine stopped when I began wearing prescription lenses.

BIGER BOY: the guy even tried to have passed the PST, dat thing is seemingly 'unpassable'

i think these interviews are designed not necessarily to get the precise answers out of you, but to see mechanics behind your reasonining, and d ability to find FIND solutions and not GETTING them per say. ..

Exactly!
TV/Movies / Re: Scariest Movie You Ever Watched? by funkybaby(f): 11:59am On Nov 24, 2013
I have seen lots of horror movies including "the girl next door", "rosewood lane", "the human centipede".......

However the most sickening and most disturbing I have seen is "SEED".

That movie made SAW look like a comedy flick!!

you are stupid. Where did you get your false news from? What is it with you wannabe bloggers and false news?

Even your deadbeat website actually states the truth on why the trip was cancelled.

Great collabo from the two brothers. This has to be kayswitch's best single so far. Nice song. Not a single verse in Yoruba grin

yams79: Tanx justwise, what I don't understand is that why my solicitor said it could be three possibilities why they withdrawn..

1. that they might call me to submit my passport or
2. they might uphold their decision or
3. find another reason why they should stick with their original decision....

Am really confused at the same time nervous that they might come up with something..

justwise:

I'm afraid your solicitor is wrong, if they are to uphold the initial decision then the case will go down to tribunal where they will defend their decision. They can't look for another reason to stick to their original decision while the case hasn't been heard.

They will call you to submit your passport.

His solicitor is right. http://www.freemovement.org.uk/2013/04/10/withdrawn-decisions/

@yams
Just hope for the best.

NappilyNigerian:

1 egg + juice of half lemon + 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Mix and leave on for 30 mins then rinse.

shrinkage is a natural part of having super coily hair so it's best to work with it. Styles such as kinky twists (without extensions) is really beautiful with shrunken hair.

To reduce shrinkage, try twistouts or braidouts. You can also stretch your hair with thread or medium heat.

another way to stretch your hair is coconut milk and lime treatment...recipe on my blog....you can try but it may not work for your texture.

Thanks. I'll this recipe this weekend.

I think my hair is not long enough for to twist outs and braids outs.

I'll check out your blog for the coconut milk treatment.

Funke,wahala e po!!!
Otito koro.
I had a colleague who was going for a training in newcastle in 2008.she submitted a statement of account with 20K.was a sponsored conference.of course she was succesful.has not been to the UK since that trip.serious and true story.I have another firnd who gets her Uk visas from mainland europe since she has a resident permit.she says her account is usually between 500 to 1000 Euro for visas.juxtapose that to the 2 million I always hear is required here!!!

Ahan. Ki ni mo tun she? grin

I once applied for a Swiss visa for a weekend getaway with less than 100pounds in my account (based on the rule of 30euros per day as living expenses) and I got 6months multiple. I applied again much later....same category, similar docs but with over 1,000 pounds in my account and I was given just 3days single entry visa, even though I requested for multiple entry grin (awon were) cool So I agree that it's not all about the money in your account but the various other factors the VO considers.

However, I will suggest that first time applicants for UK visas (self-funding their trip) considering how the rules are getting stricter should have at least 1m - 1.5m

ayobj:

I can confirm this on personal experience.
I applied for a 2 year UK visa with my wife last year July.I had 593k in my account. My wife had 67K.we were succesful.By the time the visas were granted.we had spent the money. I am sure they base the decision on your perceived financial capabilities NOT on your account balance

any tips of shrinkage and how to handle it?

Thank you for the reply, she didn't appeal the decision. It's a fresh application but I asked her to write a cover letter addressing the refusal and attached the refusal letter. Also attached evidence of their refusing the couriered bank statement, before proceeding to decline her on the same evidence. The cover letter was worded with her accepting responsibility for neglecting to provide the bank statement at point of submitting the application as supposed to being defensive.

All her documents are legit, our documents are legit as well. No attempt has been made to contact my husband who is the invitee and sponsor though.

okay.

all the best. let us know the outcome of the interview

..and i told him to present his company's document?

yes, you did.

and i told him to take it out and focus on his own documents, which he did not. he had a refusal which was'nt a surprise.

Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by funkybaby(f): 3:13pm On Nov 08, 2013
and to the bros telling people to ignore my suggestion, when was the last time you applied for a visa to any country?

no be Irish passport you get?

leave the realistic suggestions to people like we that submit visa applications regularly, we know how these things work.

Ok good luck to him.

na so you dey argue over the case of that guy that presented his company's docs even though i told the guy not to and advised him to focus on other docs tongue . didnt he get a refusal? cool
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by funkybaby(f): 3:00pm On Nov 08, 2013
justwise:

funkybaby that will be a risky thing to do because the balance in his account is material to his visa decision, if an applicant presents a bank statement showing 1m for example, he/her is basically saying that this money is available for me for the trip, going ahead to withdraw significant amount of that money even before the visa is out is misrepresentation/deception.

Yes he can pay more money into the account which can only be a good thing but withdrawing to reduce the balance is risky.

no, its not. myself and many people i know have done this several times successfully even for applications within the UK.

what matters is the closing balance on your bank statement and the genuinity of your bank statement.

if UKBA is to verify, what they confirm with the bank is whatever balance is on the bank statement that you've submitted.

do remember that applications are considered holistically.

you could leave 5m in your bank account for one year and still get a refusal and you could apply with less than 1m deposited within 6months or less and still get an approval

Asorock 1: Please justwise, Vicjustice and other gurus in the house, I want to ask if i can print a statement of account from my bank today and use it for UK visa application in a week or 2 weeks time

Or alternatively if the UK embassy will accept a statement of account from June to October (5 months) showing my regular monthly income and withdraw cos I'm afraid that the balance in my account will reduce to 800,000naira ( exlusive of november salary) which might be seen as insufficient for a week trip once i pull out the 1.1m naira I intend to use to finish up the deal on my 2 plots of land worth 3m naira and Note i will also include the receipt , power of attorney and paper surveys of the land.

I'm thinking of printing the statement at 1.1m closing balance and will withdraw another 300000 today after the statement. Is this a good idea Or it doesn't matter

You can go ahead and withdraw the money after printing your statement. The same way money can be deducted from your account doing the application process is the same way money can be credited. What happens if you make a deposit of 350k?

There's no requirement in the guidance docs for visiting visas that you should have money in your account for a certain period of time.

My only concern is the 5 months bank statement. The rules ask for 6 months bank statement prior to your date of application. Right?
