Politics › Re: 31 More Reps To Join APC In January - Akume by funshint(m): 12:41pm On Dec 28, 2013
Pukkah: You've hit the nail on the head.

Jonathan has proved clearly that he's not a consummate politcian. Unluckily for him, there no real politcians around him that are used to fighting in the trenches and nights of long knives. The only person that's close to that is Tony Anenih whose old and tired voice has been crowded out by the cacophonous voices of Akpabio, Wike, Tukur, etc.

Jonathan did not utilize the 'readiness' of Tinubu to work with him and he didn't press further, post 2011 election, to tip SW to his side (politically speaking).

Imagine if he had secured the political support of SW, whom some of us noted here as the bride to be courted, before the implosion in PDP. In addition, the SW has long been used to political fights and being in the opposition. You don't alienate such a region and other real politicians at the same time.

I was shocked the day Jonathan naively described SE as the pillar of his support and even more shocked as he sat through the campaign where Arthur Eze referred to APC as the party of Awolowo that killed their children.

I noted here that such statements would unite other parts of the country against him and tip over neutrals and moderates to the other side.

For some odd reason, he has also inexplicably held on to Tukur whom he should have used as gambit to bargain for his political survival.

The creation of PDP Governors forum, ostensibly to break or weaken Amaechi or the Governors, was also petty and unnecessary.

I also wonder why he's not courted Atiku, who appears to be 'floating' and whom he could use against Obasanjo.

Sometimes I ask myself why Jonathan, the President of a secular country, must go everywhere with Oritsejafor. Oritsejafor has succeeded in creating enemies for Jonathan even within christendom, let alone the other side.

The handling of the ex-militants and their explosive statements has also been very poor. Ex-militants, like Oritsejafor and co, now own private jets and even universities!

The handling of corruption cases is another sore point. Why pardon Alamieyeseigha and stubbornly hold on to Odua, Oteh while turning a blind eye to what's going on in the Oil Ministry?

All these have frittered away the massive goodwill on which Jonathan rode to power in 2011.

The heat is on and as the flurry of activities increases, I hope he won't make more mistakes in a bid to fight back for the political survival of his life.

NB: This is a political analysis and does not mean I support the ways of Nigerian politicians.
Infact U̶̲̥̅̊'ve said it all! The only thing that can tilt the balance in GEJs favour is if Buhari still insist on contesting. Infact that will just scatter what APC has struggled to build overtime. This is just my only point of concern because Buhari has not come out clean to declare his intention of running or not. But if APC makes that mistake of nominating Buhari then I say byebye to them 'cos even SW will not vote Buhari even if he contest a million times!

MEILYN: I never said so, where did i say something like that? Church gets you more evil. You hear Christians saying we can now sin because the laws have been abolished. See, you Christians have all been sold a lemon. You must keep the laws. Fact. Misunderstanding paul is all you Christians do.

"And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;" (2 Peter 3:15)."As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction." (2 Peter 3:16)<<< thats what they do in church.
What you're saying now is a different thing entirely though you're right. So many pastors mislead their members to believe that they are well covered because christ has alrdy died for their sins. Thus they are not bound by the old laws...may God help us!
Christianity Etc › Re: Can I Make Heaven Without Going To Church? by funshint(m): 6:54pm On Dec 24, 2013
mrs bin gbagbo: ie by believing in Jesus, by praying, by fasting, by trying to abstain from sin etc. cant i make heaven with these?
Also by loving your husband wholeheartedly, being good to your neighbours, giving to the poor/needy, helping those in need of your assistance and showing mercy when necessary.
Christianity Etc › Re: Can I Make Heaven Without Going To Church? by funshint(m): 6:44pm On Dec 24, 2013
MEILYN: Keep deceiving yourself, with this up there, you wont make it to the kingdom....

"(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified." (Romans 2:13).

"He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him." (1 John 2:4).
So the only way to obey the law is to attend church?? Shallow christians.. Look here church is just like a school; the real outside world is the exam. Even demons become angels when they're are in church; but they still remain who they are... *the scriptures you quoted there don't even have any bearing to what we're discussing.

Politics › Re: EFCC Arrests Speaker Of Kano House Of Assembly, And 11 Others by funshint(m): 5:16pm On Dec 24, 2013
Validated: They passed a fraudulent N28B supplementary budget to cover stolen funds by Kwankwaso. Accessory to crime. How do you approve a supplementary budget of N28B when you have only ONE WEEK of 2013 left? Is that not questionable? We want to fight corruption and for the rest of the year and 2014, it would be tackled headlong. They have no immunity unlike their boss. Corruption must be attacked from all fronts as requested by OBJ! grin
But Stella Oduah has immunity abi?? Can't you guys just be truthful 4 once. What is happening in Kano that is not being perpetrated in Akwa-Ibom; Akpabio happens to be one of the most corrupt public official in this country. Stella oduah bought just 2 cars with a whopping N255m with all the public outrage/outcry, the EFCC has not deem it fit to investigate the matter talkless of arresting her despite her call for resignation and arrest by the National Assembly. I urge GEJ to pls continue to strengthen his witchhunt against opposition; infact he shld never stop O°˚˚˚ 'cos his downfall his alrdy near. He can't escape it!!!

If this is true; then I really don't see GEJ retaining presidency till 2015. He might just be impeached with David Mark crossing-over to APC to salvage his position. Depending on the loyalty and inward interest of the Vice-president who seems to be on the fence on this issue; he either succeeds as President or both of them are impeached thus paving way for David Mark to become President. I just pity GEJ..he's being led astray by his selfish and untruthful aides!
Politics › 22 Aggrieved PDP Senators May Join APC In January by funshint(op): 1:15am On Dec 24, 2013
SOME Peoples Democratic Party’s senators are set
to dump the ruling party for the opposition All
Progressives Congress as soon as the senate
resumes in January.
A source told our correspondent in Abuja on Monday
that the number of PDP senators, who have
concluded their defection plan, was “enough to alter
the configuration of the upper chamber.”
The senators are said to be aggrieved over what
they described as the shoddy handling of their party
affairs by its elected officials and they are set to
join their 37 colleagues in the House of
Representatives who defected from the PDP to the
APC last week.
One of the senators confirmed to our correspondent
in Abuja on Monday that their movement to the APC
had become fait accompli.
The senator, who craved anonymity, said, “The
country should be restructured on the foundation of
truth. That is our position. We will soon join the APC
like our governors and our colleagues in the House
of Representatives. This will happen in January by
God’s grace.
“We are in court already and the court has fixed
January 22 for hearing. Already INEC had said it
lacked the powers to declare our seats vacant. So
we are on course.”
The source added that a step in that direction had
been taken last week Wednesday when the
aggrieved senators and members of the House went
to court to restrain the leadership of the National
Assembly and the PDP from declaring their seats
vacant in case they defect.
The senator who spoke to our correspondent is from
the South-South zone.
A Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja, had last week
restrained the leaderships of the PDP, the National
Assembly and the INEC, from declaring vacant, the
seats of federal lawmakers because of defection to
another party.
The injunction specifically affected the National
Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur; Senate
President David Mark; Speaker of the House of
Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal; and the
INEC.
The order by Justice A.R. Mohammed was sequel to
a motion filed by 79 lawmakers in the National
Assembly, made up of 22 senators and 57 members
of the House of Representatives.
The lawmakers, among others, sought an order of
the court restraining the defendants from declaring
their seats vacant.
The 22 senators named as plaintiffs were, Bukola
Saraki (Kwara Central), Bello Gwarzo (Kano North),
Senator Abdullahi Adamu (Nasarawa West), Senator
Magnus Abe (River South-east), Wilson Ake (Rivers
West), Senator Shaba Lafiagi (Kwara North),
Danjuma Goje (Gombe Central) ,Aisha Alhassan
(Taraba North), and Ali Ndume (Borno South).
Others were, Ahmed Zannah (Borno Central) Simeon
Ajibola (Kwara South), Bindowo Jubrilla (Adamawa
North), Abdulaziz Usman (Jigawa North-east),
Danladi Sankara (Jigawa North-west), Abdulmumuni
Hassan (Jigawa South-west), Hassan Barata
(Adamawa South), Umaru Dahiru (Sokoto South),
and Ahmad Maccido (Sokoto North).
The rest were Ibrahim Gobir (Sokoto East), Garba
Mohammed (Kano Central), Isa Galaudu (Kebbi
North) and Ahmed Alkali (Gombe North).
Some of the senators listed as plaintiffs in the
matter had however dissociated themselves from
the defection plan.
To date, no PDP senator has formally declared
membership of the APC unlike their 37 House of
Representatives’ colleagues who defected to the
APC last week.
And while the PDP has lost majority membership in
the House to the APC, the ruling party still controls
the majority in the senate with 73 PDP senators
against 33 for the APC. Labour Party also has three
while the All Progressives Grand Alliance has only
one senator.

In as much as I don't support the daddy/mummy thing you also hv to take a look at the context in which diff words can be put into use. Assuming U̶̲̥̅̊ were talking to a third person about the pastor; then usage of the word "Pastor" is appropriate but when U̶̲̥̅̊'re talking to someone as close as the Pastor's wife especially in a situation whereby they are elderly people; usage of "Pastor" will be seen as highly disrespectful according to Nigerian tradition. @OP U̶̲̥̅̊ yourself know that but you're only looking for people to support 'ur premise which is obviously wrong!

ebamma: i always thought that the apc party is playing in a different league, its now that i have realised that PDP and APC are playing in the same Corruption Premier league
Most of you just going about condemning APC...Do you think to upstage PDP go dey easy?! U̶̲̥̅̊ need to make compromises and alliances everywhere...hvn't U̶̲̥̅̊ heard that your enemy's enemy is your friend. Politics is a game thus U̶̲̥̅̊ hv to be calculative and savvy. Just because APC is making alliances with different individuals doesn't mean they don't hv a clear and well detailed plan of action for the progress and development of this country unlike PDP that is presently confused. Everybody is virtually stealing this country blind with the president behaving as if nothing is happening. GEJ holds the highest record of inconsistent policies in the history of this country; making policies and reversing them the next minute. Nigeria's international reputation is at the lowest level right now...Mandela's burial was just a pointer to how degraded Nigeria's reputation is internationally. I trust Baba Iyabo he'll hv staged a walk-out!!! *Go and ask what he did to the Togolese president when he was in power. Nigeria virtually controlled AU under OBJ but see what is happening now it's such a pity. The Igbos refusal to accept that GEJ is alrdy a colossal failure is not helping matters at all *despite the fact that deep down within them they feel highly disappointed and bitter with him. I don't mind if the next president comes from SE or from Otuoke itself but definitely not GEJ. SW didn't vote based on ethnicity; we voted GEJ with the intention of all round social-economic development and national progress. Nobody shld tell me "I don't hv right to complain" at the sight of national backwardness just because "he's our son". If that is the case then return my vote, if not, pls shove that ethnic jargons into your arse!!! OBJ greivances against GEJ is that instead of him building on the gains he had already made by securing a lot of foreign debt cancellation and improving the country's international reputation after the bloody Abacha years, GEJ instead set the country on a reverse mode. Nigeria is now retrogressing faster than ever. Come 2015 leadership must definitely change hands. A second term tenure for GEJ will only spell doom for this country. God forbid!!!
Politics › Re: I’m On A Rescue Mission – Obasanjo by funshint(m): 8:15pm On Dec 21, 2013
c0llynz02: Let's look at it this way, for all these people who destroyed Nigeria to be leaving PDP, Jonathan must be doing something right.
The man looks so gentle and naive but must be doing something very courageous behind the scenes.
Is it that he has stopped giving Obasanjo the agreed percentage of our revenue?
Check out the way he handled the compensation of former PHCN workers, every single one of them has been paid his gratuity without any noise being made about it, imagine the transition happening during Obasanjo's tenure, 99% of them would still be owed today. GEJ has succeeded in alienating these thieves, now all they do is to pretend to be on the side of the masses in order to get their support, kick Jonathan away from power and go back to ''business as usual'', but I am very happy with the responses I've been getting from people I see everyday and even here on Nairaland, people are definitely aware of the game they are playing.
Like the way he handled ASUU, Medical Doctors...PHCN privatization is now a mess. Nigerians are now regretting the privatization of PHCN because d electricity situation is now worse than b4 despite the uncompleted power projects he claimed to hv commissioned #Propaganda. Some of you are just condemned to be satisfied with incompetence. Hypocrites! If just half of the atrocities being committed by Jonathan was done by someone from another region you woukld hv deafen us with cry of marginalization and impeachment. GEJ is from SS despite that the region still remains worst in terms of Human-Capital and Infrastructural Development Index in Nigeria. Isn't that a food for taught for U̶̲̥̅̊ pple. Where is your Second Niger bridge? Where is your East-West Road? Niger-delta rail-line? There's no meaningful project in d East or SS to show for his stay as presidency...what a shame. If U̶̲̥̅̊ pple want to continuing wallowing in Ignorance, no problem; I say Goodluck to you. Others want to progress esp. SW *I don't know of North because they only want power but they don't know what to do with it. Nuff said!!!

I can see GEJs political career crashing down due to his share foolishness and wickedness. I'm still saying it; GEJ is contesting only under Apuga...lol!
Politics › Re: GEJ Can Still Have SW Vote by funshint(m): 12:03am On Dec 21, 2013
The only way Jonathan can win SW vote is only if Buhari is presented as the Presidential candidate of APC. That'll be damn disappointing...or else mk him just forget SW because we're alrdy determined to kick him out just waiting for 2015 to come.
